When can I use the spider guard? What are the best situation to use this guard? How well does it work with my anatomy? What are my options?

Two main focuses: Sweep and one sub (triangle)

First sweep was using one leg as a pendulum ( For me it was my right leg w/ tension on their bicep) to create this momentum from one side to the other (Important: you have to elevate them and bring their body over top of you to relieve their weight off the ground to expose their base) and at the same time using your “free leg” (if they have a grip on it; break it off!) to chop off their base underneath them and you can get a clean sweep.

- Side Notes: When you hit the sweep you can keep the pendulumed leg to help you drive their far shoulder to the ground = mount. This prevents them from coming back towards you. Staple them down. 

-It feels  exactly like a scissor sweep; but instead of that “push” you are using the tension on the bicep to create momentum + control + something else that I am not aware of yet (I have to learn how to acquiring an eye for interpreting the underlying details of the moves im trying to learn (experience + time + patience ?)) = to hit the sweep. 

“Bow and Arrow” movement: So how I was thinking about it was my body is the green zone. I know that if their arm is off to the side (red zone) and when I try to sweep them over, they are just going to use the ground in front of them as a post. So pulling them like a upright row (when you use a barbell) but with one hand. This cuts them off of all possibility of using the ground as a post and at that point you have unmessed with leverage (at that point my job is to follow through). 

- train small muscles using upright row with resistance bands?

Another sweep is if they flare out their knees and create a stronger base underneath them (triangle- geometry?). Using the free leg to push their far knee to widen their base ( I think the wider the base the weaker one side of their base is?) and taking advantage of their weakened base by pulling on the same side arm (upright row motion/ “bow and arrow”). Now all their weight is committed to one side. Use the pendulumed leg to assist with the sweep. 

If they give you a reaction where they bring out their leg as a post, that is going to prevent you from sweeping. Their is still a sweep their but on the other side. That leg is “blocking” any sweep from the original side you wanted to sweep (idk their may be a sweep their that I dont know about). The cool thing is that leg because of of the weight that is being placed on it and how heigh it is. It can be used a way to shovel all that committed weight to sweep (pendulum) over to the other side by using your foot as a hook (try touching your toes towards your shin) and then at the same time scissor sweep and pull the arm (elbowl is going to be used as a post just make sure to pull hard). 

Triangle: When I started doing this; it wasn't coming out right. It wasn't till the instructor told me to shift myself to one side. Which for some reason made a big difference. 

- what is it about being on your side how it can make you more mobile, give you more options, and more mobile? being flat I noticed it has never really helped me out. I am sure there are time you wanna be flat? idk maybe when you want to umpa your way out or something. 

So keeping all your tension to one point on their body and using that point to elevate your hips, just enough to break posture by hoisting your leg onto their upper back. I am forgetting right now how to properly relieve the tension on the bicep in order to anchor the back of my leg their upperback (breaking posture/control). 

- I think 90% ish of the bottom of my foot (padding of the the foot underneath the toes) is applied on their bicep and my free leg helps by using their hips to elevate my hips upward, catching the triangle.
