In regards to Crunchyroll's consumer practices from the latest reblog, let's go over some of their other wonderful (sarcasm) things to contribute to the Western anime market:

- Redesigning their office into a Walmart quality Tokyo, which Kyle McCarley (Mob's former dub VA) exposed on his Twitter

- Licensing and streaming World's End Harem, one of those shameless not-so-softcore erotic anime only to not really care about it anyway

- Posting a tweet featuring Chiaki Kobayashi, a voice actor/seiyuu asking Crunchyroll subscribers whether "friends are more important than money" in adherence to Tomodachi Game, an anime he starred in. IMO I feel like CR people pointed a gun behind Chiaki's head in that tweet, and luckily I wasn't the only one thinking that.

- Their YouTube channel, Crunchyroll Collection giving their anime clips with El0n Mu$k tweet-style titles (one from Platinum End was forced to change the title)

- Lapses in translations from mishearing certain words to allegedly using AI translations. See: Chainsaw Man and The Yuzuki Family's Four Sons for reference Likewise with the incorporation of Zoomer slang and etc. which doesn't exactly fit the original Japanese script nor source material, and liberal use of profanity

- Being faced with multiple lawsuits over the years, including a data privacy case regarding users' data being shared with Facebook

- Trolling Attack On Titan fans on Twitter by tweet a good morning tweet featuring Rias Gremory

And last but not least:

- Their liberal use of the word "shit" for translating interchangeable Japanese expletives such as kuso, yabai/yabe (pronounced "ya-BEH"), chikusho, mazui or shimatta, to the point where it has become a commonplace word in basic negative connotations. Pretty much that one scene in the South Park episode, "It Hits The Fan" when Ms. Choksondik teaches the class how to use the word "shit" in everyday communication.

I need people new to Tumblr to understand that text is not censored. you can write whatever the fuck you want and you don't need to censor it. sexy images? that's more on the fence (less on the fence now thanks to the new guidelines but straight up sex is still off the table) but writing? my friend Tumblr does not give a shit. there is a thriving erotica community on here I promise you can say that two characters fucked without worrying about getting flagged. in fact I actively encourage you to not censor words that are triggering especially because that prevents people from being able to block that word accurately. Tumblr does not care what you write I promise.
