🌑 Welcome to Tenebraethia: A World of Magic, Memory, and Prophecy 🌌
I made a little moodboard to set the tone of Tenebraethia 🫶🏾
The moodboard above is a glimpse into the dark, mystical world of Tenebraethia, where ancient prophecies and ethereal landscapes shape the destinies of those who dwell within. This world is the backdrop of The Tryskelion Prophecy, a story of power, ambition, and the emotional scars that bind three sisters—the Noxthorne triplets—to their fate.
A Deeper Look into the World of Tenebraethia
This moodboard captures the essence of Tenebraethia through its rich color palette of deep purples, soft greens, and celestial whites. Each element was carefully chosen to reflect both the beauty and danger of the triplet's world, where time, memory, and the boundaries between life and death are manipulated...
The Triquetra and Celestial Symbols: The triquetra, a symbol of the interconnectedness of life, death, and dreams, looms large over Tenebraethia. This ancient symbol represents the balance each of the Noxthorne sisters must maintain in their realms.
The Moon and Misty Skies: Ever-changing and cyclical, the moon and the misty skies and peaks are a visual representation of Eirlys Noxthorne’s dominion over the Dreamworld, where reality and illusion intertwine. The moon also reflects the prophecies that govern their futures, casting a light on the path ahead, however shadowed it may be.
The Desert Landscape: The vast, dry desert calls to mind Vesmiren, the harsh and unforgiving land that Eirynia governs. In this world, time and memory are constantly shifting, much like the ever-changing sands beneath the cacti. The starkness of the desert represents Eirynia’s cold pragmatism and her calculated control over the flow of time, where moments can be stretched, altered, or erased at her will.
The Forest and Lightning: The thick, misty forest represents the mystery and natural beauty of Yrigmire, Eivey’s domain. Here, the balance between life and death is tenuous, with Eivey’s connection to necromancy and biomancy enabling her to manipulate both creation and decay. The lightning strikes that illuminate the
The Emotional Heart of Tenebraethia
The quote in the top right corner—“The strongest bonds aren’t formed by blood but by the scars we share”—encapsulates the emotional depth of The Tryskelion Prophecy. The Noxthorne sisters may be bound by blood, but it’s their shared scars, both emotional and physical, that form the backbone of their complex relationship. The scars from betrayals, ambitions, and hidden desires define them as much as their familial ties, creating a tense and fragile balance between love and resentment.
The Skull Symbol: A reminder of the ever-present shadow of death that looms over Tenebraethia, the skull represents the inevitable price each character pays for power. Whether it’s Eirlys’ burden of protecting the Dreamworld, Eirynia’s manipulations of history, or Eivey’s flirtations with necromantic power, death is a force they must all contend with.
A Realm Between Worlds
The soft, hazy gradient of purple and green skies evokes the surreal nature of Tenebraethia, a place where the metaphysical world constantly bleeds into the physical. This balance is especially precarious in Slumfjord Valleys, where the Dreamworld and waking world coexist in a perpetual fog. The soft, surreal tones in my moodboard represent the dreamlike quality of this land, where reality is never quite stable, and dreams can both guide and mislead.
What Lies Ahead in the Prophecy?
The moodboard offers a visual snapshot of the world, but The Tryskelion Prophecy itself promises much more. The sisters’ journey will take you deeper into this beautifully fractured world, exploring the moral ambiguity of power, the weight of prophecy, and the unbreakable yet fragile bonds between family.

ehat is a notable feature of Tenebraethia? What's your favorite thing about the land?
Eek! I was so excited to answer this. Please send me more questions!! By the way, thank you bunches for the ask, and please don't hesitate any further when reaching out to me! but to be short and sweet:
A notable feature of Tenebraethia is, without a doubt, the mist that blankets the land, almost like it's alive—constantly shifting, hiding, and revealing pieces of the world as if it knows more than the people walking through it. What I love about the mist is its mystery. It's not just a physical phenomenon; it has these deeper, almost sentient properties that respond to emotions and dreams. As the story progresses, I plan to dive deeper into what the mist truly is and how it ties into the greater magic and consciousness of Tenebraethia. I want it to feel like more than just a setting—almost like another character in the world.
My favorite thing about Tenebraethia, though, is the way the land allows you to physically cross the veil between reality and your subconscious. For me, this is where the story becomes most exciting. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea that dreams and subconscious thoughts aren’t just something in your mind but something you can actually experience and confront. In Tenebraethia, it’s possible to step into this otherworld, to wander through your dreams, face the parts of yourself you keep hidden, and engage with your mind in a way that’s tangible. It’s that blend of psychological and physical journeying that I find really inspiring to write—it pushes me to explore my characters more deeply and creatively, bringing their inner conflicts to life in unexpected ways.

I love my lore!!
I can't wait to give you guys more lore about the Noxthorne Triplets 🥰
I've always wanted to write a story about three sisters, each dominating a unique and mystical power.
The dreamworld I've been establishing for Eirlys, the memory and time manipulation techniques for Eirinia, and my spin on life/death cycle magic for Eivey are chefs' kisses.
Gonna make sure to give you all of this Novaxiom lore I've been sitting on first, then get ready to meet the triumvirate!

Can you tell me a little about the noxthorne triplets?
i’m so late to reply to this!!!! i sorry but let’s finally meet the noxthorne triumvirate 🫶🏾 this excerpt is from the first thought dump i ever had for these girls. i've grown to hold them so near and dear to my heart so without further ado I finally introduce…
ϯհε ภᵒメϯђᵒгภє ϯɾίԹʆεϯς
The bond between the Noxthorne triplets is as deep and complicated as the metaphysical realms they each control. Each sister’s personality reflects not only their dominion over the Slumfjord, Memory, and Purgatory but also their intricate relationships—harmonious and strained. Together, they form a triumvirate of strength and conflict, constantly juggling their roles, powers, and personal struggles.
𝗘𝗶𝗿𝘆𝗹𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘅𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲—𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 & 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗳𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗱
As the eldest, she carries the burden of responsibility more heavily than her sisters, which shows in the quiet, reflective way she carries herself. Her connection to the Slumfjord Realm gives her a contemplative, almost distant aura as if part of her mind wanders through the mists of dreams. Her magenta eyes glow faintly, giving away her constant connection to realms beyond the waking world.
Her aloofness can make her seem rather detached from the world, there are moments when Eirynia and Eivey joke that Eirlys is more comfortable among her Mistkin than with people. But her silence isn’t distance—it’s calculation. She listens, observes, and processes more than she speaks. When she finally does, her words hold the weight of someone who sees far more than the surface.
Eirlys’ dreamlike glow, along with her deep brown skin that absorbs and reflects light like the moonlit earth, makes her seem otherworldly. But it’s her sense of humor, quiet but sharp, that occasionally cracks through her composed exterior—especially when she’s around her sisters. Though burdened with the responsibility of holding the Dreamworld together, Eirlys hasn’t lost her ability to laugh, especially at Eirynia’s reckless nature or Eivey’s chaotic approach to life.
𝗘𝗶𝗿𝘆𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗡𝗼𝘅𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲—𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝘆𝗻𝗶𝗰, 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆
Eirynia’s rich mahogany skin, weathered and kissed by the Vesmiren desert sun, reflects the depth of her power over memory and time. She carries the weight of all that has been and all that could be, but unlike Eirlys, she doesn’t hide her weariness. Her heterochromatic eyes—one brown, one magenta—are piercing, always assessing, as if she’s searching for a way to bend the present to her will. Where Eirlys is contemplative, Eirynia is action-oriented, often charging ahead before fully thinking things through. And that’s where the tension between the two typically arises.
Her humor is sharp, almost incisive, but it’s just her way of deflecting the strain of her duty-laden life. The bond between Eirynia and her sisters has always been fraught with conflict, particularly with Eirlys. They frequently clash—Eirynia’s bold, risk-taking tendencies versus Eirlys’ more rigid approach—but they’re learning to navigate these arguments with a familiarity only sisters share.
Eirynia is never above making jabs at Eirlys for her “perfect” control or teasing Eivey for her experimental recklessness. Yet beneath the sarcasm lies a deep respect and value for her sisters' abilities. For not for them, she would be eternally lost to the sands.
Her secret affair with Andaris, on the other hand has added a layer of complexity to her life that she keeps hidden, but the bond she has with his twins, Ymir and Ymani, is genuine. She loves them deeply, even if the relationship with their father is tangled in secrets and half-truths. The danger of Pilar discovering the affair lingers in the back of Eirynia’s mind, but she wears her defiance like armor. She’s lived her life bending time and memory to her will—what’s one more secret?
𝗘𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘅𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲—𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱
Eivey has a deep and rich complexion, similar to the fertile soil of Yrigmire after a storm. It reflects her raw vitality in her dominion over life and death. Her consistency in her interactions and benevolence towards the people of Tenebraethia set her apart from her more isolated sisters, who do not interact with the civilians. She is the one who echoes the people's concerns about resources and economics.
While her sisters bear the weight of their responsibilities differently, Eivey wears hers with a chaotic joy that unsettles and comforts those around her. Her heterochromatic eyes—one glowing with magenta hues, the other a warm brown, both uniquely tying her to her marshlands of biomancy and necromantic energy alike.—reveal her duality. She’s full of life, laughter, and reckless energy, but there’s a darkness to her power that she’s never fully mastered.
Though her work with necromancy is dangerous and secretive, Eivey isn’t one to brood over it. She shares her love of life and death with her wife, Brysa, who grounds her when her experiments push the boundaries too far. But even Brys is not aware of the full extent of what Ve has been dabbling in, especially the reanimation experiments. Eivey knows it’s risky, but it’s always about pushing limits and seeing how far she can go before the balance tips too far.
Her humor is the glue that often keeps the sisters from fracturing entirely. Eivey is quick to diffuse tense moments with a joke or a wild idea; her laughter is infectious, and her spirit is hard to tame. It’s not unusual for her to suggest the more reckless course of action with a grin, only to have Eirlys immediately reject it, rolling her eyes. Eirynia, however, tends to entertain her sister’s wild ideas a little longer—if only for the amusement of watching them inevitably go awry.
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀
Together, the Noxthorne sisters present a formidable, albeit fractured, front. Their bond is as deep as the realms they govern, but it’s strained by years of secrets, personal ambitions, and conflicting ideologies.
Eirlys, the ever-watchful eldest, regularly tries to control the chaos in which her younger sisters seem to thrive. Eirynia’s sharp wit and tendency to manipulate the past often clash with Eirlys’ calculated restraint. Eivey, always the wildcard, stirs the pot, but she’s also the one who can bring a smile to her sisters’ faces when things get too heavy.
Despite their differences, there’s an unspoken understanding between them. They’ve fought each other as regularly as they’ve fought for each other, but they know they are stronger together.
When the time comes to safeguard Tenebraethia, fulfill the prophecy, and confront Pilar's ominous deceits, their unification will provide them with the resilience they need to face the inevitable. But the cracks in their bond are always present. Eirlys, carrying the weight of her pregnancy, keeps her worries about Tariaun’s return to herself.
Eirynia, bound by her secrets with Andaris, struggles to control her life and the memories she manipulates. And Eivey, ever the experimenter, walks a fine line between life and death, her reanimation experiments pushing the boundaries of what’s acceptable.
When the prophecy unfolds, the realms of Dream, Memory, and Purgatory will not be the only stakes—they will also be the bond between the sisters themselves. While they might laugh and joke in the face of danger, each knows their decisions could tear them apart irreversibly.

@trodamus asked about the crescent in the sky of the photo of the Slumfjord Valleys so i figured i'd tell you more about the moons that orbit Tenebraethia:
In the photo, Serith’s crescent moon hovers above the horizon, casting a pale, silver glow over the landscape. The rugged mountains and serene river mirror the starlit sky, dotted with distant galaxies.
The moons, Serith and Voras, are said to be eternal lovers—locked in an endless celestial dance. Serith governs emotions, dreams, and visions, while Voras, the Hidden Moon, embodies secrets and forbidden knowledge. Their relationship is a cosmic reflection of yearning, union, and separation—Serith visible and ever-present, Voras shrouded and elusive.
Together, they mirror Tenebraethia’s balance between the seen and unseen, light and dark. Ceremonies often invoke this romantic duality, couples seeking Serith’s clarity while accepting Voras’ concealed truths, using their cosmic love story as a guide to balance their own emotional and magical paths.
Serith, the Dream Moon, is a key source of Eirlys' power, enhancing her connection to the Dreamworld and the mists that cloak the Slumfjord Valleys. Its cycles influence the ebb and flow of her abilities, with her magic becoming strongest when Serith shines full and clear in the night sky. Serith’s soft light wraps the world in a dreamlike hue, an ethereal reminder of the Dream Moon’s connection to magic, visions, and dreams.
Through Serith’s glow, Eirlys can tap into dreams, manipulate subconscious visions, and wield the ethereal mist that defines her domain. The moon’s influence intensifies her empathy, but also makes her vulnerable to absorbing the emotions of others.
could you tell me a little more about the Slumfjord Valleys?
why thank you for asking 🥹 of course i can give you some more detail! i'll be making the master post for this wip within the next few days so be on the lookout!
the slumfjord valleys are a haunting place, hidden beneath a shroud of mist that never seems to clear. eirlys noxthorne reigns here, the eldest of the triplets, her power extending into the dreamworld itself.
the capital of the slumfjord valleys, solstice's keep, is a sprawling city built into the rocky cliffs, overlooking a sea of mist. it is known for its gothic-meets-futuristic architecture—stark, towering structures that seem to blend with the landscape, as though half-forgotten by time.
the keep itself is an ancient castle-like structure, where eirlys resides, surrounded by towers that seem to scrape the sky. the city below is alive with market stalls, scholars, and travelers seeking access to the dreamworld through the ziri waterfalls, a sacred site on the outskirts of the capital.
the valleys are more than just eerie—they hold the weight of ancient history, with the land itself imbued with the memories of long-forgotten lives. every step feels like an encounter with the past... it's quite eerie. or so i’ve been told. travelers, if brave enough to venture, are greeted by the strange whispers that seem to curl out from the very mist that clings to the ground.
the ziri waterfalls, one of the most notable features of the slumfjord valleys, serve as gateways to the dreamworld. the falls aren’t just majestic—they carry with them a sort of magic, a thin veil between realms. their waters are ethereal, shimmering in a way that doesn’t seem to fully exist in the waking world.
the mist that rises from the falls spreads across the valleys, blending memory and dream until reality itself feels unstable. people who come too close to the falls often report strange visions, sometimes seeing their own past, or memories they never lived.
eirlys, the eldest of the noxthorne triplets, holds dominion over these lands and the dreamworld. her powers not only allow her to manipulate dreams but to command the mist that clings to the valleys, bending memory and reality. for the rest of the slumfjord lore, subscribe to my patreon for free!

Your writeblr coffee shop order is ready!
Coffee: Does your character hold a lot of grudges? What is something they are bitter about?
I’ll be using Eirynia noxthorne to answer this one:
Eirynia’s tendency to hold grudges stems from a deeply ingrained sense of fairness and her acute awareness of imbalance—traits she’s carried since childhood and honed as an adult leading an entire population. As the middle triplet, she grew up sandwiched between Eiryls, the eldest, and natural leader, and Eivey, the youngest and most emotionally volatile. This positioning left her in a perpetual state of fighting to be seen, heard, and valued. Over time, she developed a sharp sense of justice, but also a deep resentment toward those who undermined or overlooked her contributions.
As a child, Eirynia often felt like she had to clean up after her sisters. This meant calming Eivey's tantrums or settling conflicts between Eiryls and their mother, Ithillya. These small slights added up, cementing the idea that her needs were secondary. When Eirynia's talents for memory manipulation and temporal preservation became apparent, it felt less like recognition and more like duty. She was “useful,” but only when it served others. Even as her abilities surpassed her sisters' in complexity, she remained in their shadow, expected to carry burdens without acknowledgment.
These feelings didn’t dissipate as Eirynia grew older—they evolved. When she became the ruler of Vesmiren, a population caught in the delicate balance of survival and preservation, the stakes of her resentment grew heavier. Eirynia sees her leadership as a monumental responsibility—one her sisters can’t fully understand, as they rule domains with different pressures. The inhabitants of Vesmiren rely on her to shield them from the desert's temporal distortions and preserve their memories and pasts, which require Eirynia to make tough choices. Every failure or betrayal under her watch feels personal, a breach in the foundation she has constructed through unwavering determination.
Her grudges, then, are more than emotional—they are strategic. In Eirynia’s mind, holding on to a slight isn’t just about vengeance; it’s about cataloging who has betrayed her trust and who might do so again. Her role requires her to remember every detail—an unfair advantage, perhaps, but one she considers necessary. She doesn’t have the luxury of forgetting or forgiving too easily, especially in a world where survival hinges on vigilance.
The affair with Andaris has only deepened her resolve. Eirynia wasn’t blind to the moral complexity of their relationship. She knew it was a betrayal of her sister and that Andaris, torn between his twins, his ex-wife Oreyana, and her, was a man divided. But for Eirynia, the affair was less about love and more about connection. For once, someone had chosen her—not Eiryls, not Eivey. When Andaris inevitably faltered, retreating to his obligations, it reopened old wounds, solidifying her belief that no one truly prioritizes her. She didn’t outwardly lash out, but instead buried the resentment, letting it simmer beneath her calm exterior.
Her grudges complicate her relationships, particularly with her sisters. Eirynia’s pragmatism clashes with Eiryls’ idealism and Eivey’s impulsiveness. She sees their decisions—both in governance and in personal matters—as reckless or shortsighted, leading her to quietly catalog their failures as further proof of her unappreciated burden. This tension manifests in subtle, cutting remarks or moments where Eirynia withholds her insights to let her sisters falter. It's not ill will.
In her leadership, Eirynia’s grudges become a double-edged sword. On one hand, they make her an exacting and uncompromising ruler, someone who holds her subordinates accountable and demands excellence. A culture of fear is created by her inability to forgive easily. Mistakes aren’t just failures—they’re betrayals. Yet, her people respect her deeply because they know her grudges come from a place of fierce loyalty to Vesmiren and its survival.
Eirynia's grudges are ultimately a survival mechanism, a way to protect herself from vulnerability and betrayal in a world that's repeatedly shown her that trust is fragile. They give her strength and clarity as a leader, but they also isolate her, reinforcing the very loneliness that fuels her resentment. It’s a cycle she’s aware of but struggles to break, even as she strives to protect her people and navigate the fraught dynamics of her family. For Eirynia, her attachment to the past serves as both her greatest asset and her profound weakness—a trait that shapes her identity as a ruler, a sister, and a woman within the demanding world of Tene.

help me decide on the name for the third sister. i have such a hard time with this; i can't choose from her original name: eivyr, but i think eivey (ivy) would be cooler since she's the 'life shaper' and she tends to the flora and fauna of her world as well as the actual cycle of life and death!
The Tryskelion Prophecy
It's about time I introduced the most recent wip I started working on!
In the shrouded twilight of Tenebraethia, beneath a sky that knew neither day nor night, the whispers of an ancient prophecy lingered like mist—spoken of only in hushed tones and forgotten texts. The Noxthorne family name had long carried with it both honor and burden, its legacy bound to the fate of the very world itself.
Within that legacy, a prophecy emerged: The Tryskelion Prophecy
Eirlys, the firstborn, was the Sentinel of the Dreamworld. Her power extended beyond the waking world, into the realm where thoughts drifted and futures were shaped. She could walk among the dreams of others, twisting them into visions of what could be—or what might never come to pass. Yet Eirlys struggled against the mantle of leadership, her heart yearning for the simplicity of love and life free from prophecy. Her gift was a blessing, but to her, it often felt more like a curse.
Eirinia, the second-born, wielded the past itself. She was the Memory Keeper, capable of unraveling and reconstructing the annals of history, altering consciousness, and bending memories to her will. To her, knowledge was the greatest weapon—yet she resented the fact that her elder sister, Eirlys, was viewed as the true heir of their lineage. Why should she, who held the power of the past in her very hands, be overshadowed by the one who merely glimpsed into the future? Her envy simmered, though her love for her sisters kept it in check—for now.
And then there was Eivyr, the youngest, but in many ways, the strongest. She was the Life Shaper, connected to the pulse of the earth, able to breathe life into what was once dead. Her power was the most tangible of the three, yet her role was no less daunting. Eivyr was the heart of the triad, the one who sought to keep her sisters united when the prophecy threatened to tear them apart. But even she, with all her optimism, feared what lay ahead—a future in which their bond might not be strong enough to withstand the weight of their fates.
Together, they were the Tryskelion, sisters bound by a prophecy as old as Tenebraethia itself. The world saw them as saviors, yet the path before them was fraught with peril. The Noxthorne Sisters and the Tryskelion Prophecy foretold not just of their rise, but of the trials they would face—the betrayal that would come from within, the sacrifice that would be demanded of them, and the choices that could either save their world or plunge it into darkness.
It spoke of triplets—three who would rise from the shadows of their bloodline, three who would hold the power to reshape reality itself and save their people from certain chaos. They were the Noxthorne Tryskelion, sisters born under the celestial light of a comet, their gifts forever entwined by fate, their destinies imbued into the very essence of their universe.
Dreams, memories, and the cycle of life itself—each sister held dominion over one realm, and alone? She would never fulfill her destiny. It is only together that they can unlock the true power of the Tryskelion.
But as the prophecy unfolded, and the weight of their legacy pressed down on them, only one question became clear:
Would their bond, potently forged in obscure blood and magic—be strong enough to withstand the storm that has come?
