Title!
there was teeth in their kiss
Okay so I won't lie, this one really got away from me. I had like three different ideas and I was like "I'll just write a really short scene for all of them!!" only for the "really short scenes" to get... progressively longer. Oops?
I have two Lizardverse fics and one TMA (JE) fic. Because I don't want my Lizardverse stuff showing up in the JE tag and it's also The Longest One, so you can check the notes of this post to read it.
Also gonna be real I wrote these at ass-o-clock at night and Did Not Edit them, so.......
Oh shoot wait warnings! They only apply to the second one (you can stop reading at (Amaldyne)).
Body horror/mouth horror (mild?)
Non-consensual touching (non-sexual/non-romantic, but I figured I should still warn for it just in case)
(Send me a fic title!)
(Important Lizardverse Context (TM): The Overseer is a creature called a Grotle (think ankylosaurus but bigger, spikier, and omnivorous). He's also a very dangerous necromancer. His real name is Mihzarch (pronounced Miz-ark), and these are used somewhat interchangeably. Leoshgon wields a sword called the Godslayer sword. It's a very deadly semi-sentient sword that's bonded to his soul. He's also a Noctar (a much smaller, fuzzier mammal species.))
(Leoshgon) The Overseer liked to put his teeth to Leoshgon's throat. It happened in the night, mostly, when Leo was curled against Mihzarch's heavily plated body, throat bared in offering for the Overseer to do as he would. He was always very gentle, of course, and very careful. As if Leo was a priceless, fragile heirloom, not the most dangerous weapon in the world. But there was a pressure there, and Leo could feel the shape of the teeth even through his mane: the wide, shearing ones in the back; the broad conical incisors in the front, wet with saliva and dreadfully cold. The puff of chilled breath sent shivers down Leo's spine. Leo wasn't sure he liked the sensation, really. It was uncomfortably damp, for one, and also sort of boring to be held in place for so long (aside from that brief spike of fear, which really wasn't fair to Mihzarch at all, because the Godslayer Sword was the real danger here, but- that wasn't the point anyway). But he always bared his neck willingly. And when those massive jaws closed so sweetly around his throat, he leaned into it. And then Mihzarch would let out a happy rumble that sang through Leoshgon's entire body, and all would be well.
(Important Lizardverse Context (TM): Amaldyne is currently a (semi) unwilling servant of the ever-starving god of hunger. Eityr is weirdo freak bestie who want her to become as powerful as possible. Their relationship is. Uh. Weird. Amaldyne is a dragon becoming something More, Eityr is a Noctar)
(Amaldyne) "Show me." Amaldyne didn't look up when Eityr entered the room, nor did she turn to face her. In fact, she did not acknowledge Eityr's presence in any way at all. No matter. Eityr would not be so easily dissauded. Amaldyne's desk was strewn about with massive tomes and piles of documents and about a dozen bits of charcoal. It was as if some great beast of parchment had been savaged and slain atop it, and Amaldyne was trying to read the future in its bones. With a flick of her wrist and a stretch of her power, Eityr relocated them all to the floor, then hopped up onto the now-cleared metal. Amaldyne slowly raised her head to look at her with exhausted irritation written plainly all over her snout. "I want to see," Eityr said, "so show me." "Show you what?" the words were accompanied by a hiss of displeasure, but Amaldyne's wings remained loose and relaxed by her side. Unhappy, but willing to indulge. Were it anyone else, Eityr would find that infuriating. "Something happened, didn't it? There's something-" 'wrong' wasn't the right word. Whatever it was, it must surely be the opposite of 'wrong,' but Eityr struggled to think of an alternate descriptor. "Something happened to you, and I want to see it. Show me." Amaldyne nudged her down off the desk. "I have no idea what you're talking about, Eityr, and I don't have time to engage your every childish whim either, so please-" Sick of waiting and on a whim, Eityr grabbed at Amaldyne's lower jaw and yanked downwards. It split right down the middle, and the insides were coated with teeth that had not been there only a moment ago. Amaldyne let out a proper snarl then, shock intermingled with an animalistic rage. Her tail was poised to strike, stinger gleaming in the low light. But the tell-tale glow of dragonsflame never touched her throat, and so Eityr felt comfortable in running a paw along the seam where Amaldyne's mouth had split. No venomous fangs sank into her fur and no bite crushed the strength from her writs. Of course not. Amaldyne had always been content to let Eityr do as she would, why should this be any different? After a moment, Amaldyne pulled away. Her jaw clicked back together, and she watched Eityr through slitted, appraising eyes. "Satisfied?" She asked? Eityr saw no reason to lie. "No."
#i wasn't sure if you had a fandom preference?#i figured probably tma since that's just about all i post about but i saw 'teeth' and 'kiss'#and i just couldn't resist making it about my favorite little lizards#also i'm sorry if their scenes don't make much sense#i tried to give enough info to make stuff clear but i've been marinating in lizardverse for years by now#so idk how confusing this is to people who can't read my mind#i am. so tired. my ability to be articulate ain't doin so hot rn if i'm being honest#the problem was i went 'oh! i can stay up late to finish these Very Short Scenes instead of going to bed at a normal time!!'#and then i couldn't. so the je one was written today#but anyway thank you for the ask!! i really enjoyed writing this actually!#asks#ask game#lizardverse#the lizard crew#amaldyne rotwing#amaldyne#eityr#eityr reksha#leoshgon#leoshgon varmillius#the overseer#leoshgon/the overseer#eityr&amaldyne#i hope you don't mind me making this about my silly little ocs. i'm so soft for them i had to include them.#sparkwrites#body horror#body horror tw#tw body horror#i feel like i'm forgetting something? it's probably fine#oh i remember now! so from the overseer's pov he's holding something even more dangerous than him in its mouth

So the thing is that to Eityr Amaldyne is potentially the only person who can ever understand her or accept her for what she is and so she is trying desperately to unearth the parts of herself she recognizes in Amaldyne and mold her into the leader and demigod she knows Amaldyne has the potential to be meanwhile to Amaldyne Eityr is her precious blorbo. Eityr is her tragic precious poor little meow meow who is in the comment trenches fighting for her life on a website which has deemed Eityr Problematic for War Crimes.

How Likely is Death by Lizard?
This idea popped into my head and I had to do it. Chart of how likely my beloved bastard lizard OCs are to kill you, a random lizardverse civillian. Under a cut for length lol.
Before we begin, a few assumptions about the scenario:
You are a member of the lizardverse, because a human would lose against every single guy on this chart. Species is unspecified, just assume it's a Lizardverse species.
You are of average strength for that species, and have average magical and/or psychic abilities.
You do NOT have divine power from any of the gods.
You do NOT have any weapons beyond whatever abilities your species already has.
You have no prior relationship to any of these lizards, and they have no prior knowledge of you. This is how likely they are to kill you immediately upon meeting you with no influencing factors.
And Now, the Chart:
The Y axis measures capacity. It is how capable of murder a lizard is purely based on their strength and powers. Characters near the bottom are weaker, characters near the top are stronger (and again, we're assuming you have average strength and abilities in the Lizardverse setting)
The X axis measures willingness. This is how much they would want to do murder. Characters near the left are very unwilling, characters nearer the right are very willing.
You are at exactly average strength on the Y axis. Where you would be on the X axis is up to you.
The difference between "If You Provoked them Somehow" and "Only if it Benefited them" is that for the former, you would actively need to do something to make them want to kill you, and for the latter you could literally just be existing and as long as it furthered their own ends they would try to merc you on the spot.
Alright! Chart time:
Character Explanations:
(From left to right, top to bottom)
Veskieryaer - Literally a god, incredibly powerful. So weighed down by grief that it doesn't care anymore. It's just so tired, you guys. Could theoretically turn your brain into soup with a single pulse of electricity but would basically never be bothered to do it.
Leoshgon (w/ Sword) - Leoshgon while wielding the Godslayer Sword. Capable of reducing cities to rubble but only every so often. Slowly being consumed by the power of the sword. No qualms about murder but doesn't seek it out either. Would absolutely kill you if provoked. Or if the Overseer asked him to. Or if you were in one of the cities the Overseer told him to melt.
Amaldyne (Revenant) - Goddess of a new world, hooked into a system designed for ancient power. Trying so very hard to fight the part of her that wants to devour all of reality. She's so hungry. She's so hungry. But she's trying so hard. Would let you go, but maybe don't stick around...
She is the only known Divine Champion of the god Hunger (the Locust) in all of history.
The Godslayer* - Vesk's stronger, deadlier sister. Full of Rage. Wants to burn everything down and start again from the ashes. Absolutely, 1000% capable of that too. Would kill anyone on sight but if it helps it wouldn't be personal, and you'd be in good company (read: literally everyone else).
*Technically not on the chart, should be several degrees higher.
Raven - Older than every other Champion. Would never kill without provocation, but wouldn't hesitate to draw her blade either.
Divine Champion of the god Justice (the Beetle)
The Terrible Silence - All things will end, and they shall do so when her master reigns, but in the meantime she does not revel in death or violence. She has never wanted to destroy, only to see destruction. She would not kill you. It is not a mercy.
Divine Champion of the god Destruction (the Antlion)
Corvid** - No qualms about murder. Absolutely none. It's sort of her job, really. Would also kill if it made her life easier, or for dramatic effect. LIVES for drama, really. Doesn't go after random passers by usually, but she does tend to cause a lot of collateral damage...
Divine Champion of the god Vengeance (the Mantis)
**Also has a hair-trigger temper (see: Divine Champion of the Mantis). Most likely to kill you purely by accident (and then not care).
The Overseer - When you're a necromancer, it's generally very beneficial to have more people dead than alive, generally speaking. He'd much rather a perfect rotting puppet than a living breathing being. But if you could convince him of your usefulness, or of the benefits of keeping him alive... well. Maybe he would just let you go.
Divine Champion of the god Control (the Hive)
The Golden Mask - A strange creature, with unusual powers and no obvious connection to any of the seven gods... everything they do is to benefit themselves. Are you going to be more useful as a tool, or as a corpse? Choose wisely
Amaldyne (pre-death) - Powerful, certainly. Dangerous, certainly. She is hungry, yes, but it drives her to do good. To BE good. Despite the slipups, despite her friends turning away from her, turning ON her. But she’s functioned this long. She could resist the call to devour. She has resisted it before. But sometimes sacrifices need to be made. Sometimes she just needs to eat. Let’s hope that when you meet her, she’s well-fed and on her way.
Divine Acolyte of Hunger (the Locust)
Askavenenoth - If her love wants to see this world in ashes then she will reduce it to cinders. She is so angry, so scared, she spent so long powerless in this world of gods and monsters. She will see destruction reign, and the Terrible Silence descend upon the land. If you meet her know that you do so on the battlefield and that she does not have mercy.
Divine Acolyte of the god Destruction (the Antlion), knight and lover to the Terrible Silence
Eityr - with hindsight, placed much too far right (I’m too lazy to change it now). She spent long, long years without even a modicum of free will or control and now she cast all those things aside. No laws shall limit her, nothing shall ever again fasten a leash around her throat and tell her to heel, and Amaldyne shall be the key to this freedom. She is quick to violence, and will not hesitate to follow each whim. If she does choose murder, plead your case to Amaldyne.
Divine Servant torn between the gods Knowledge and Destruction (the Scorpion and the Locust), would-be Divine Champion of Amaldyne
Drakkus - His name means “traveler,” and he chose it himself. A very easy-going guy, believes firmly in right and wrong (although he has something of a vain, selfish streak). He is also a tremendously skilled fighter who would not hesitate to defend himself, should the need arise. You’d need to put some effort in, but not too much.
Leoshgon (pre-sword) - Flightless and weak in dragonflame, he is a stain on House Varmillius. He is weaker than many (but not all), and has no interest in killing. He knows he probably couldn’t, and anyway why should he bother? The Godslayer Sword and the destiny it promises await him, he has no reason to resort to violence unless it was his only option.
Leoshgon (post-sword) - the sword drained him. His life. His dragonflame. Now he has only sparks left. He has met destiny and then gone past it, and has found nothing but bitter disappointment on the other side. He’s not inclined to violence, but he can manage if he must. All he wants is to really, finally live, even if it means snatching the opportunity from others first.
#idk how i feel about the setup of the draft but it’s whatever#*graph not draft#anyway. if anyone wants a blank version of the chart let me know and i can provide i guess#i think i’d move a bunch of these guys around but i’m finishing this on my iPad and the cart is on my computer. so this is what you get lol.#might’ve gotten a tad pretentious there. whoops? hey what can i say i just got into the swing of things#oh god now all the sorting tags. fuck.#ok uhhhhh#the lizard crew#the lizardverse#amaldyne#amaldyne rotwing#eityr#eityr reksha#veskieryaer#the godslayer#the golden mask#drakkus#askavenenoth#the terrible silence#leoshgon#leoshgon varmillius#raven#corvid#<- sorry bird enjoyers if this gets in your tags#if it helps they /do/ have feathery wings??#yeah anyway posting this. think about my lizards now.

My Eityr design is fuzzy and vague but today my brain hit me with “what if her body was slowly being consumed by frostbite?” and I think I have to use that.
#in the later stages she also starts radiating cold#she’s very ice and frost themed#cold brittle and sharp#eityr#eityr reksha#the lizard crew#eityr doesn’t get enough love here i think#also funny tagging her with the rest of the lizard crew#cause most of the time she’s a mammal and also sometimes she’s an insect

So my drawing tablet looks to have been injured in the trip back to college and I haven’t checked to see if it still works. So. Uh. Anyway I made my bastard lizards (+ the one insect) into mammals.
Bastard Lizard Battlecats AU!!
I tried to stick to more realistic coat colors but Amaldyne can have a purple eye. As a treat.
Some AU facts, presented in no particular order:
- Amaldyne’s warrior name is just her dragon family name. If you’re wondering who would name a kit “Rotkit” I think there was a bit of a tradition of giving kits “scary” or “menacing” names.
- Blizzardshard (Eityr) got her prefix the same way. That or she was an outsider who was brought to the clan young.
- They’re all in ShadowClan!
- Rotwing was a relatively well-respected warrior. A little intense, but well-meaning, intelligent, ambitious, and with the clan’s best interests at heart. Nobody’s quite sure why her apprentices turned out Like That.
- She mentored Blizzardshard and Lionsong (Leoshgon). Blizzard (who had mostly known her parent’s (Watcherite expy, although I don’t think I’ve talked much about it) intensely controlling behavior found Rotwing a welcome reprieve and a role model. She really looked up to her and became an intensely fanatical supporter. Lion will commit atrocities for affection and Rotwing was more than happy to take advantage of this.
- I imagine that Amaldyne hadn’t considered leadership too seriously, but with ShadowClan under threat from several factions she took it upon herself to fix everything through the power of clawing her way to the top by any means necessary.
- Maybe some horrible calamity can befall her family this time too to give her the push to make some REALLY terrible decisions.
- But without the armageddon time crunch she has time to move the pieces into place. She’s a respected warrior. She has time.
- First order of business is making Blizzard a medicine cat. Blizzardshard would do ANYTHING Rot told her to do so it’s not hard to convince her. Not sure how it happens but it does get done (Blizzard does have a knack for herbs. And maybe some less savory skillsets).
- Leo was the right-hand-man and mate of the Overseer, as well as a former kittypet. As the Overseer got more and more dangerous and controlling he (as before) began collaborating with Amaldyne to kill him (as he was also becoming a serious threat to ShadowClan). When they succeeded, he was brought into the Clan (I imagine she was deputy by this point). While he was a grown adult, he still needed a short apprenticeship period to grow used to clan life and learn how to hunt and fight in ShadowClan.
- Deputy Rotwing had permission to spy on the twolegplace cats but the full scope of her activities was never discovered.
- She was a serious candidate for the deputyship, but possibly had Blizzard place a conveniently rotting birds wing somewhere. Maybe.
- Idk I like the idea of her getting the position legitimately. Or even the sign being real but it being a warning that Blizzard covers up or willfully misinterprets.
- When asked why she was so invested in getting Lion into the clan and making him her apprentice she said that she saw potential in him. This is technically true.
- She worked hard to teach him how to be deputy because she recognized a good puppet when she saw one. She made sure to give him an apprentice as soon as the time was right.
- She definitely got the leader killed after all the pieces were in place.
- Lionsong was her first mistake as leader. He was liked but not respected, both for his outsider heritage and his personality. Rotstar wanted someone who would follow orders and be easily manipulated (but who wouldn’t accidentally start a war by snapping and murdering another deputy like Blizzard), and Lion’s obnoxious chatterbox routine and pushover nature made him a great tool but a poor deputy.
- More charitable cats thought this was just nepotism. Lion and Blizzard were the cats closest to Rotstar in the clan and one of them was too medicine cat to be deputy.
- Less charitable cats recognized Rotstar giving her strongest supporters the only roles with enough power to challenge her decisions.
- Like Blueflame! I haven’t talked about her and Lilypaw (or their original lizardverse versions) but they’re both here. Blueflame’s lizard version doesn’t have a name (that’s like the middle part of character creation for me) but she’s Amaldyne’s ex gf. Their relationship ends as Amaldyne gets worse and worse and it is NOT an easy breakup. Like in the lizardverse, Blueflame is dry-witted, level headed, smart, and somewhat laid back. Lilypaw is an expy of Lesareth Rotwing, Amaldyne’s younger cousin. A somewhat rude academically-minded dragon named after a very rare and poisonous flower.
- Unlike in Lizardverse, Lilypaw is Rot and Blue’s daughter. Canon Amaldyne has enough shit going on without also being a parent but outside of it I like the extra family drama and I eat it like the popcorn.
- Lilypaw is a medicine cat apprentice. Her parents split (on much better terms) when Rotwing first became deputy. She was sort of an absent parent to Lily tbh.
- Blueflame is the one to kill Rotstar and becomes the leader after.
- Rotstar keeps fucking. Starting wars. And scheming to take down enemies. And becoming more and more controlling. She loses a lot of the trust and respect she used to command but is still feared by many. Blizzardshard dies with her, and Lionsong is probably also killed, but might be driven off to parts unknown depending on how cooperative he is.
I left out soooo many things (such as “what if warrior cats did necromancy?”) but this got so fucking long and I am. Tired. Anyway hope you enjoyed. I am constantly putting the lizards in Situations.

Thinking about Amaldyne and Eityr’s Thing like. Prickly and independent Eityr who gives herself up for Amaldyne and her cause. Unquestionably the follwer but she does it because she’s so fucking lonely. She’s so lonely and Amaldyne is the only person who can stand her and they’re the only people who can understand each other beacuse they’ve both become so warped together that they fit perfectly with each other and nowhere else. Even when Amaldyne blames Eityr for things that weren’t her fault or treats her like a loose canon that Amaldyne has to leash Eityr stays because if things are her fault then they were her choice too. She wants that sense of control more than she wants actual control and Amaldyne is willing to give it.
#hnnnngh they make me CRAZY#i’m not totally sure if this specific dynamic is where i want to take these two but it’s interesting to think about for sure#they love each other SO MUCH and it’s SO bad for them <3<3<3<3#amaldyne forges deep (not necessarily good or even friendly) connections with every other main character#but her bond with eityr is something i want to be the heart of the characters and their stories#god. frothing at the mouth thinking about Them…#the lizard crew#eityr#eityr reksha#amaldyne#amaldyne rotwing#eityr&amaldyne#<- if you want more of them being Wretched Platonic Soulmates (TM) this is their tag#they’re sooooo codependent and sooooooooo bad for each other they mean everything to me

So a champion is a lot of things. They are the most favored of a god’s followers. They are practically a deity in and of themselves (though a lesser one). They are high priest and devout worshipper and emissary and recruiter and soldier and general all in one. They serve their god and their cause before anything else, and each god will only ever have one at a time.
And the thing is, Amaldyne isn’t a god. She didn’t even really choose Hunger (although she serves it all the same). Amaldyne could be a champion, perhaps she even would be, if Hunger ever seemed to choose any. But Amaldyne is powerful, and people listen to her. She has a cause to follow and servants to recruit and even as a mortal she also has a champion. Because Eityr has clung on to Amaldyne despite everything, and Eityr serves every purpose of a true champion even as she pulls her powers from other gods. Amaldyne is to her cause what the gods are to the desires and wants and needs that they represent, and Eityr’s cause is Amaldyne. Ok?

The more I think about Amaldyne and Eityr’s relationship the more I love it and the worse it gets. It’s such a complicated shitshow and I keep thinking of all the horrible ways they can and should need each other and the terrible ways they can treat each other. Latest development is that I think Amaldyne should need to be killed off to save the world but by this point she’s willing to sacrifice everything but herself and Eityr’s only ever cared about her anyway. Amaldyne is sacrificed and Eityr dies defending her.
#other possibilities are ‘amaldyne is too dangerous to be allowed to go free BUT is also the hero who saved the world#so someone suggests eternal imprisonment instead. amaldyne would rather die but eityr won’t let her.#even thougheveryone knows amaldyne will probably doom the world if she’s ever free and amaldyne never lets go of the grudge eityr just can’t#let her go’#and ‘amaldyne needsto eat eityr and eityr lets her because amaldyne’s cause may be the world but eityr’s cause has always been amaldyne’#anyway i rotate these around in the brain soup daily#i have no idea what their relationship is tbh. eityr is aroace and i think i find it more interesting without the romance aspect?#but at the same time i’m not sure how much this can be interpreted as purely platonic#i think i want to keep it that way though. with a strong platonic love as not only a central focus but integral to the story and characters#(beyond just amaldyne and eityr)#that’s complicated and horrible and no less deep or important than romantic love#also i just. do not know how to write romantic relationships? i’ve never really been in one so i don’t have any experience#amaldyne#eityr#amaldyne rotwing#the lizard crew#these loser assholes mean sososososososo much to me <3<3<3<3<3

Ignoring my Tumblr screentime limit to say that this song would be the perfect Amaldyne and Eityr song (from Eityr’s perspective) if it was less strongly implied to be about a romantic relationship.
youtube
#eityr is aroace#amaldyne is allo but too busy making her entire personality saving the world and maybe also doing some moral no-nos to worry about dating#but I heard ‘she’s bad news / but i’m no better’ and went ‘oh that’s exactly how eityr feels about amaldyne!#eityr: hey is it normal to obsessivly hold onto another person because they excuse and enable your bad behavior and they’re the only person#who can fucking stand you and you see yourself reflected in them on a fundamental level? even as you know they’re making you worse and their#love is conditional because it’s the only love you’ve ever gotten?#amaldyne: yeah that’s how I feel about you and i’m a regular everyman. anyway please stop having doubts about whether or not being my bff is#‘bad for you’ i found some bad guys and i need you to eat their brains and tell me everything they know ok thx ily#they’re the worst <3#amaldyne#amaldyne rotwing#eityr#god she really needs a last name i’m so sorry#anyway#the lizard crew#(technically eityr is one of my few non-lizards (noctar + bug person) but that’s the tag sooooo)#but yeah back on the romance stuff#eityr came aromantic pre-story (or at least this specific iteration of it)#and i think making them have a romance would actually take away something from their ddynamic#they’re platonic soulmates who are obsessed with each other but also sort of ruining each others lives (and tbh it’s mostly amaldyne’s fault#)#ok very tired hope all of that made sense#analdyne&eityr#<- idk what my tag for their relationship is so its that one now#okok for real goodnight#Youtube

Lizard Edition:
I need everyone to be collectively really mad about the Amaldyne&Eityr situation. Their (former) friends pissed that these two make each other worse. Watching them play off each other and enable each other and develop a codependent soul-bond that slowly destroys everybody around them. The others thinking this is it, this is what gets her to drop that asshole for good. But it isn’t. It never is and it never will be. Amaldyne is Eityr’s conscience and Eityr is Amaldyne’s attack dog and I want to see everybody reacting to their horrible dynamic.
Amaldyne being confused and repulsed by Leoshgon’s dynamic with the Overseer. Seeing the flaws that Leo is blind to (even as they both plot the Overseer’s death) but unable to grasp the fundamentals of what drew than so close together. Seeing the broad strokes: that Leoshgon was powerful but controllable and the Overseer was proud and possessive and in need of a weapon, but trying to figure out how their relationship ended up in such a strange and complicated tangle.
People watching Raven and Corvid and trying to sus out how these two immortals on seemingly opposite sides know each other so well. Seeing how neither can truly let anything happen to the other but not understanding where that link was formed. Watching them both interact with Vesk and realizing that these ancient and powerful immortals aren’t the oldest players in the game. How do they know this strange dragon? Why do they speak with familiarity and respect and pity? Why does Vesk not fear two champions?
I’m…. I’m rotating these in my mind constantly do you understand? I think about lizards and I think about lizards and I think about lizards and I’m always discovering more about these characters I created and their messy relationships and their armageddon soap operas.
Obsessed with outsider PoV on weird little relationships.
#dgeucbjrhuskejeuihej#okok i’m normal about the lizards now#(lying)#anyway i think about my lizards all the time#i want to post more about them but my ideas are so scattered i’m worried they might change#or that people wouldn’t be interested or would dislike the lizards#anyway thank you for indulging my lizard thoughts#i’m obsessed with them and their toxic relationship drama#drakkus: amaldyne. amaldyne we have to save the world from being destroyed by the gods#amaldyne: not no drakkus. eityr vaugly implied that she thinks cannibalism is bad even when its for the greater good#*now#drakkus: …#anyway sorting tag time#the lizard crew#amaldyne#amaldyne rotwing#corvid#raven#vesk#veskieryaer#the overseer#leoshgon#leoshgon varmillius#eityr#some of these dudes still need last names i’m so sorry#also if you’re wondering why corvid and raven both have bird names long story short they were part of the same organization#i talk about them less because raven needs a bit more time and focus to cook and corvid is edgy and op#i’m trying to be less self-concious about the lizards but it’s a Process#i love talking about them so damn much tho they mean the world to me#which is why i am making them Suffer all the time

When I first finished my Amaldyne ref I started on an image of her breathing dragonfire but never finished it. Until now! Here she is my beautiful baby girl setting things on fire. Idk how I feel about the shading but I'm kinda proud about how revenant!Amaldyne looks. (Also if you're wondering why her neck is Like That it's because maintaining your form as a big hungry goop puddle is especially hard when you're also angy). This was mostly just to see how dragonfire looks when I try blending it a bit (which I don't do on the refs to make it more clear which colors go where) but I might mess around with it in the future, idk.
Anyway some Lizard Lore(TM): dragonfire is a very unique substance. Impossible to replicate (at least under current magical science), dragonfire can and will destroy everything it touches save for the dragon who breathes it. All dragons have at least a few sparks (even if all they ever manage to do is cough up smoke and embers), but a vast majority only have enough to breathe out a single stream for a few minutes, after which they'll need to stop and recover. Amaldyne is probably about average when it comes to dragonfire (although nothing about my universe is set in stone yet sooooo). Dragonfire can come in any color except blue (although there are a handful of old, scattered scraps of legend about a powerful sky dragon with bright cyan flames). It also sometimes feels more like a dragon's element rather than regular fire (although most who get hit by it are generally too distracted by the feeling of being burned by magic fire to describe the experience afterwards). Amaldyne, as a poison dragon, has fire that feels like getting doused in acid (complete with an odd, slimy sensation that lingers for awhile after). It's pretty common and there really isn't any particular significance to it. Just an odd quirk of dragon magic. Also, if a dragon's fire is somehow extinguished (methods to do so are currently unknown) or stolen (incredibly difficult but also quite possible, if you know a few tricks), it WILL kill them. A dragon won't survive without their dragonfire, not even for a moment.
#anyway i love her i love her i love her so much#i think seeing the comparison of regular-sized ordinary amaldyne vs big freaky revenant!amaldyne has convinced me that she's bigger after#she emerges from the cocoon#also fun fact about her broken horn! i've decided that after her death (when eityr finds her and pulls her from the battlefield)#eityr saw one of her horns was broken (and maybe kept the broken piece? idk she's a freak about her (only) friend)#and somehow amaldyne found out about this and consciously chose to make her horn look broken whenever she assumed her dragon form#part of her campaign to cling on to the remnants of her mortality#(can. can you tell i developed massive amounts of story and character details while neck-deep into my t/m/a hyperfixation? can you?)#(censoring t/m/a to keep it out of the fandom tags lol.)#anyway i love my little monster poison dragon#(btw dragon elements are their own whole lore Thing)#ok anyway sorting tag time:#amaldyne#amaldyne rotwing#the lizard crew#lizardverse#body horror#body horror tw#tw body horror#idk if the tag applies but she's doing the thing where her lower jaw sort of... separates..... so i figured i should tag just in case?#if there's another better tag let me know#anyway i should go make dinner now#ok goodbye.#WAIT FORGOT MY ART TAG#sparkarts#<- is it that i think it’s that#ok i’m serious now. pasta time.

Been thinking about what entities I would assign to my OCs. I think initially Amaldyne was Hunt aligned (endlessly hungry, chasing down the gods) but relistening to Prentiss’ statement makes me think she’s be a shoe-in for being Corruption aligned. She’s toxic. She’s obsessive. She has a deeply codependent relationship with an insect. She ruins every other relationship she touches. The people who are exposed to her frequently end up constantly suffering for it. Her name is ROTWING
#so obviously her and prentiss are VERY different characters#but idk there’s more than one way to be a corruption avatar#and her whole arc is about gradual corruption. the decay of her morals and personality and integrity#and she is incredibly poisonous (figuratively (literally she is venemous)).#also she’s a poison/venom dragon. like that’s her elemental specialization#and there’s her symbiosis with eityr (and the parasitic nature of most relationships she forms when she starts getting Worse)#anyway i think her powers would revolve around poison. slowly killing people around her from the inside slowly or something.#this seems very mean. the truth is i love her and think about her all the time#she can have a lil lethal toxicity. as a treat. she’s earned it#hope my oc nonsense doesn’t make it into any t//ma tags#(i don’t wanna bother them)#but it’s too late to go back and add this to a collection post now soooo#anyway tired as shit hope this makes sense#amaldyne#amaldyne rotwing#the lizard crew

You know what? I’ve decided I actually really like Melanie Magnus Archives when I’m thinking about her canon wretched personality and not the fandom’s girlbossification of her. She’s an interesting character and a fucked up person.
#i feel like it sounds like i’m being mean or sarcastic here but i’m actually not#i love people who are certain shades of kinda shitty made into particular shades of extremely shitty#which is probably why 90% of my dearly beloved lizards are such godawful people#eityr goes from being a fight-happy snobby jerk to a violent brain-eating monster.#amaldyne goes from a regular person who’s maybe a bit of a know-it-all to a hypocritical cannibalistic murderer willing to backstab and use#everyone around her for ‘the cause’ even as she makes decisions that actively hurt it#honestly aside from the whole damning the multiverse thing my lizards are much worse#like. by every metric i would honestly rather hang out with melanie tma than any of my godawful lizards#even though i love them soso much and they mean everything to me#much like sasha beforehand if i just look past the sanitized hyper-competant version of her i actually quite like her. i just like her more#when she’s fun and sort of awful#not maintagging this tbh.#ok actually i think i should say this in general: 90% of the time when i’m talking about a character or relationship?#‘awful’ ‘bastard’ ‘freak’ ‘fucked up’ ‘wretched’ and similar descriptors are compliments#and i’ll basically always say if something is or isn’t meant positivly/fondly

Thinkin’ about the Jonsasha dual archivist soul/mind melding again…
#obligatory do not bring j//mart into this#i feel so aggressive every time I mention that on posts#i just don’t like the ship and it’s sort of assumed to be the default otp that everyone loves? so it sort of splashes onto a lot of posts#but i don’t want it splashing onto my posts. sorry#ok now that that’s outta the way onto the juicy stuff#the jonsasha in my head involves like. my favorite relationship dynamic ever#and it is:#for better or for worse we are two halfs of the same being#our souls are aligned. we cannot be seperated. we cannot fully understood as our own people#idk there’s an unhealthy codependency to it that i think is really interesting#i gave it to two of my lizards as well (amaldyne and eityr)#i think s4-s5 jonsasha have the potential to be super fucked up about each other#especially if we throw ‘they’re both the Archivist’ into the mix#like between their circumstances their similarities and eldritch magic they could have a genuinly super compelling relationship#honestly if sasha had just gotten more screentime or if more jonsasha content (made by sasha understanders ofc) was out there?#jonsasha otp above every single other ship#unfortunatly there’s not enough to chew on and I’m not sure i have the writing experience#to successfully pull of my ideal js dynamic#especially longer form stuff than my semi self indulgent jonfics#anyway maintags time i want other people to consider the potential of jonsasha. to see them as i do#jonsasha#jon sims#jonathan sims#sasha james#archivist sasha james#tma#the magnus archives
