i would say that adar is 100% a goner in the finale but WHYYYYY did they have galadriel see him cry???? if the purpose was to gain him some final pre-death sympathy from the audience so that his death would hit harder, then they would've only shown that moment to us and not had galadriel witness it too. if the purpose was to give galadriel a more nuanced view of orcs, then they would've had the focus of the scene and her gaze be mourning orcs, not mourning adar.

so why would they do this! why! would! they! do! it! they've deliberately opened a brand-new angle in galadriel's view of adar, so he can't just die off separate from her in the next episode, because why open a brand-new angle in the penultimate episode if nothing's going to come of it? i won't hold my breath for adar surviving, but at the very least, the inclusion of this scene in ep7 surely must mean that even if he does die this week, first he and galadriel will cross paths again and have some kind of interaction (possibly a non-hostile one). otherwise what was the point?
