#ace talks to herself#i finally indulged myself#and got a carnivorous plant a few months ago#I’ve always been fascinated with them#i really struggled over the winter#with seasonal depression#and some thoughts about…ending everything#but then my fly trap started budding#and it brought me joy#every morning i checked for new growth#so i got two more carnivorous plants#another fly trap#and a sundew#the sundew is so cool!#now that everything is so humid and wet#they’re putting out buds like CRAZY#it’s been so healing for me#to see them thrive#my mother saw my joy#and told me i wasn’t *allowed* to get more carnivorous plants#so#my birthday is in July#and my gift to myself#will be getting more carnivorous plants#either a saraccenia#or a cape sundew#or a sawtooth fly trap#maybe a b52#covert narcissistic mother
