supernatural movie reboot but its a ghostfacers mockumentary about their attempt to make a “serious film” about sam and dean winchester. opens on ed and harry going “CUT!” and the camera pans to a guy that looks kind of like jared padalecki pulling off a party city wig. turns out the finale was actually part of the ghostfacer’s retelling of supernatural. Sam Dean and Castiel spend the entire movie chasing after ed and harry trying to stop the thing being made. (its a huge commercial success and they screen it at the destiel wedding)

Severus Snape Headcanons for my upcoming Fanfic!

Uses Muggle supplies

For studying & note taking in class because they're cheaper than Wizarding supplies.

Ex: spiral notebooks, wooden pencils, pens

Only ever uses his parchment and ink quills when doing class work and essays that need to be turned in.

Professor Flitwick noticed and charmed his pen so that the ink will last until the school year ends.

"Best to not tell" is all he said when he did before awarding him 10 points for his cleverness and resourcefulness.

Is Actually Left Handed

But because Tobias deemed it another "freakish" trait from his mother, broke his fingers every time he caught him writing, forcing him to use his right hand, therefore making him ambidextrous.

Reason why his school work is immaculate and his notes are a complete mess. because even though his left hand has a slight tremor, he still uses it in the comfort of his own privacy.

His Mother is Jewish so He Knows a Bit of Hebrew

When he's in Potions or any other class that require numbers, he only ever counts in the language under his breath.

The Marauders (not Remus) think his mumblings are incantations of Dark Magic spells because of course they do.

He Was a Late Bloomer

Meaning his first growth spurt happened during the summer between 4th and 5th year.

His voice changed to a deep throaty tone that everyone immediately pointed out. Both Severus and Eileen mastered honey-lime tea.

He refused to speak for almost half of first term & only relented when Regulus told him how his voice is perfect for Reading Nights. Especially if he's reading in Hebrew.

(the Slytherins have a short of "poetry night" which I find kinda cute)

He Steals the Library's Candles

Madam Pince is convinced its the Marauders so she has made countless complaints to Headmaster Dumbledore, but he just lets it be. Claiming how wonderful it is that students are working so hard into the night on their studies that they need the extra light.

Only that Severus uses the candles to coat and seal his more expensive and/or important potion ingredients since their wax is of more higher quality and its charmed to last longer than regular candles.

Do you guys think Severus ever calls for his mom after a bad meeting with Voldemort? Like I can imagine Severus in his childhood home broken and gasping, I can imagine him feeling like a young boy who faced the rage of his father words and fist. I can imagine him looking for his mother to whisper words of peace and warmth only to remember that same mother is in the ground surrounded by White Roses and Violets, that same mother who held him gently yet tightly is in a cemetery far away from this wretched home filled with horror of grief.

I hate the deification of Snape’s mother, Eileen.

I see a lot of head-canons about the Snape household involving pure evil from Tobias while Eileen is a perfect angel who goes to great lengths to care for their son. I think it’s a nice idea, but I don’t see this being true based on what we know and can surmise from canon.

I think Eileen was probably abused so heavily that it closed her off from everything around her, including her son. There is really no other explanation for the fact that Severus Snape had long hair and stained, ill-fitting clothing (long hair that can be cut and stained and ill-fitting clothing that can be altered with magic). We know that grief can diminish a witch or wizard’s magic, in which case it makes sense that Snape grew up without certain amenities, but it gives no explanation for his hair being long and uncared for. Cutting hair requires no magical ability and poverty has nothing to do with it. If you look at photos taken during periods of great strife in places like Ireland, you might notice that while they are grubby and their clothing is ripped and badly fit, the boys have their hair cut reasonably, implying that even through financial hardship and famine, they are being loved and cared for at home at least to some extent.

Severus Snape at no point during what we are shown of his childhood exhibited any signs of an affectionate upbringing on the part of either of his parents. Harry noticed this in just about every memory of Snape’s that he sees.

I believe that Eileen was abused badly enough that she was no longer able to take care of her son and, while probably not strictly abusive like Tobias, was probably just as neglectful.

Of course, I think everyone has the right to headcanon a better upbringing for Snape. I just don’t think that it should cross the line into in discussions about his canon childhood, which is something I do see happening.

Sorry if this post is messy, by the way. I didn’t spend a lot of time rearranging and formatting; I just wanted to get it out.

I wanted to add something else quickly before posting. I’m not sure if I was clear, but I don’t fully blame Eileen for her part in the treatment of her son. She was obviously at least verbally abused alongside Severus Snape by her husband at least since she was a young adult. That being said, I don’t know how her parenting style would have been different if she hadn’t suffered abuse. One must imagine Sisyphus happy, or imagine that Eileen was trying her best and without the abuse would have been a significantly better parent.

Eileen didn’t know how to bring it up or if it was appropriate. If Severus would ever look at her the same again. It wasn’t her fault—she would have accepted it as the then-heiress of the House of Prince. It was her duty—one of the things that made a Prince a Prince. But then she had to meet him that night. Wavy brown hair, an infectious yet awkward laugh, and just as gangly and awkward as she was—her Tobias. She could feel her magic bubble inside, and she gripped the letter tighter.

No, it wasn’t her fault—it wasn’t her fault that she fell in love or that she ran away, just like Cygnus, leaving magic and traditions behind—for happiness, for normalcy. She reread the words over and over—Severus would never see her the same way again, and that was her fault. Everything felt suffocating—the creaking wood beneath her feet, the kettle boiling in the background, Tobias’ shuffling steps.

“Sweetheart, I get that you're cold, but not everyone wants to be in a sauna, yeah?” Tobias teased—a familiar joke, one that started after Severus was born. Her magic core was never the same after; it had given its all—warmth, love, energy. Muggle doctors called it anemia, but Wixen called it magical insufficiency—her magical (blood) volume would never be the same, replenishing potions be damned. “Eil?”

But she wouldn’t change it—for her baby, her son. Her sweet, awkward boy who deserved the world and the chance to live his own life. Her little snake, who hated peas but loved tomatoes, who was afraid of thunder but loved to play in the rain and collect rainwater, who gave the best hugs and tried to comfort his Da when his back was flaring up.

Her Severus. Her sweet boy.

How could she possibly explain this? How could she tell her son, her sweet baby, that she had just ruined his life? All because of some stupid contract her parents had written when they were barely legal.

How?

“Leeny?” Tobias called out again. He gently gripped her shoulder, rubbing it in slow circles, steadying himself as he leaned over her—like that big oak tree Severus used to play around with his friend Lily. Tobias kissed her head, and for a moment, everything seemed fine, easier, until she felt the parchment in her hand—rough, aged manilla paper. It reminded her of Gringotts, where it had likely sat all these years, tucked away in black, suffocating hallways filled with nothing but darkness and cold. It was all about elitism and maintaining the status quo. 

And it was all her fault, her poor Severus.

“Eileen? Sweetheart, what—” Then the letter began to speak.

It is with the utmost reverence and urgency that we address this matter of great significance, pertaining to the bloodlines of two of the most venerated houses in wizarding history. By the end of his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Heir Severus Tobias Snape is henceforth required to step into his rightful position as Lord Prince, in accordance with the stipulations outlined in the contract conceived and duly signed by the noble parties herein mentioned.
