Been 6 months last visit they added a few marvolus dishes to the unique Egyptian menu. I really don't get it not one media outlet has done a story yet WHY. If it was in Dearborn, Ann Arbor or Detroit maybe ? Still my personal Restaurant of the year 2022. A Egyptian family owned n operated not another in our state. All five star reviews from around the web and it's Halal. We had a outstanding meal again started with Mixed Mahshi Mixed Veggies stuffed with rice mixture. grape leaves roll (5 pcs), cabbage rolls (5 pcs), zucchini (1 pc) & eggplant (1pc) Molokhia Green soup made from minced jute mallow leaves and cooked with garlic and coriander in chicken broth (16 oz). OMG such Flavorful Soup we shared a must try. Macaroni Becameal A seasoned ground beef mixture between two layers of penne pasta smothered in a creamy bachamel sauce. Delightful Delicious yummy dish. And my favorite the national comfort food of Egypt. Koshari Bowl Koshari is the national dish of Egypt. Koshari bowl is made from rice, macaroni, lentils, chickpeas, with a special tomato sauce and savory crispy onions on top. Try it & crave it. Had enough leftovers for a whole nother meal. Hopefully the media wake's up and highlight this place. #egyptiankitchenmi @egyptian.kitchen.us #koshari #molokhai #mahsi #macaronibéchamel #egypianfood #downriverfriendseat #motorcitymunchers (at Egyptian Kitchen Restaurant) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChIsrNigK5B/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My personal Restaurant of the year award, I drove like 20 miles to eat authentic Egyptian Koshary, husband and wife team from Egypt making grandma's famous national dish Koshari (also spelled Koshary or Kushari) is the national dish of Egypt. It’s served in virtually every Egyptian restaurant, in every Egyptian home, and on every Egyptian street corner. Street vendors serve the dish from carts to people eagerly waiting in line to eat this beloved and highly popular dish. An unusual combination, Koshari mixes lentils, macaroni noodles and rice into a single dish and it’s then topped with a spicy tomato sauce that uses a special Middle Eastern spice blend, garbanzo beans, and fried onions. I've tried 2 places both Yemeni that makes a great version, can only find a handful of places in metro Detroit making this dish. Now the only Egyptian eating spot I know of so delicious. Totally blown away by this and we'll worth another trip soon. Also 2 Skewers of Chicken Tawook on a bed of Yellow Rice. Great service and the chef definitely a master, I say Thanks to him for the most memorable meal. Outstanding Chicken Tawook with Sumac so uniquely delicious Wowed. We had most of the soft opening menu. Koshari is the national dish of Egypt. Koshari bowl is made from rice, macaroni, lentils, chickpeas, with a special tomato sauce and savory crispy onions on top. Try it & crave it. -- add hot tomato sauce as you like. Feteer Sojok absolutely fantastic a new addiction. Delicious thin flaky layered pastry made from our special dough and pure ghee stuffed with Sojok, tomato, cheddar, mozzarella, Romi cheese, bell pepper slices & olives rings. Hawawshi Beef another winner. Freshly baked bread made from our special dough stuffed with ground beef, tomato, onion, garlic, bell pepper flavored with our mixed spices. Shish Chicken Tawook Two skewers of boneless tender pieces of chicken breast marinated in our own in-house marination. Served with grilled veggies, french fries, or yellow rice & 3 sides (salad, Baba Ghanouj & Hummus).
