It's not unusual for you to be awake before Ego and Anri, so you're often the first one in the office in the morning. Usually, that's because you stay up the entire night in there, but today is one of those days when you just woke up surprisingly early.

The first thing that catches your eye is the absolute mess on Ego's desk. Random pieces of papers that he scribbled notes on and a lot of empty instant noodle packages. Usually Anri is the one who cleans all of that up, but you figure she'll be happy if you make her work a little easier today. And since you don't have any work to do yet anyways, you decide to at least throw the trash away.

While you're picking out everything that goes into the trash, one specific item on the desk catches your eye: Ego's bolo tie. He's been looking for it since yesterday, so he probably forgot he put it there. Of course it got lost under all the trash. Where else could he lose it? You don't even remember ever seeing him without it. Well, except for yesterday.

Out of curiosity, you decide to try the tie on. Just wondering how it looks on you. But the moment you put it around your neck, Ego enters the office.

"Already up, (Y/N)-chan?" He walks closer to you and sees the tie around your neck. "You found it?"

"Uh, yeah... It was underneath all that trash," you scratch the back of your neck while laughing a bit nervously, "Sorry, I just, uh, I wanted to try it on."

Ego's expression changes into a confused one. "You shouldn't take my belongings without my permission."

"I'm sorry, I got curious and-" You start to apologize, but Ego interrupts you quickly.

"You're not even wearing it right. Come on, let me help you." Ego says as he grabs the strings of the tie and adjusts them. "Much better."

If you were any other person, he'd tell you to return the tie to him immediately. But something about seeing you wear it makes him happy.

And you could swear he's holding back a smile while he looks at you wearing his tie.
