Introducing Folk-Kind! Folk-Kind is just what I call the people of my object show. I decided to give them a lil' bit of lore while I make my designs

Introducing Folk-Kind (Aka CTR's Resident Earthlings)

Object Folk- From order of most common to least common, Objects are the leading race of Folk-Kind. Objects can only be inorganic in this world. There is no such thing as an object made of animal products.

Elemental Folk- The second most common race. Elementals are made purely of the elements. The only thing that separates an Object from a Elemental is the amount of processing needed to be done.

Concept Folk- The least common race. Concepts are the only race made of flesh and bone.

Folk Kind Sub Types

Popborns- Popborns are how Folk-Kind originally came about! Popborns get their name from the fact that they literally pop into existence. There is a whole government funded team dedicated to finding them as they are born.

Eggborns- Eggborns are the most common type of Folk-Kind nowadays. Eggborns are born of eggs made by any kind of Folk. They are typically a mix of whatever the parents are.

So, Phrixus's kind doesn't have a really have a name(totally not because I couldn't think of one!), but are called the High Ones due to the royal bloodline. Well, how the High Ones bloodline works is kind of like Pokémon, but still different. If the High One is the father, the child will still look like how Phrixus's looks, but different coloring due to genetics. If the High One is the mother, the same happens, meaning the High One of the relationship is the dominant gene. The only thing that changes is how the High One is born, e.i live birth or hatchling. In Phrixus's case, having a white and green High One father and a blue colored Naga mother, he was eggborn. A lot of this changed when Candice fell into Phrixus's world and they fell in love and ended up having Astraa. With Astraa not being born looking like Phrixus, almost everyone thought she wasn't his, but Phrixus knew better. The moment he saw Astraa and held her, he knew she was his, even naming her after their world's Goddess, Astraala(Uh-stay-ah-la). Her being his only became more and more undeniable as her horn, claws and tail grew.

Btw when I saw ewan mcgregor was eggborne I don’t necessarily mean egg crack like trans like yeah he has tboy swag but I mean he was literally hatched out of an egg like a turtle or maybe a Turkey

Not quite in answer to the question but this did remind me of my Talan, who are draconic, particularly the differences in EmhTalan births. (For reference, AmhTalan are more draconic, eggborn, and less mammalian, but still capable of reproducing with humans. EmhTalan are the offspring of an AmhTalan and a human.)

Because I'm blending magic in, AmhTalan are actually descended from humans and ascending to dragons (ish, though that process has stopped now that dragons have been removed from the goings-on of the world), which is why they can still interbreed. In AmhTalanic reproduction, an egg is conceived, laid a few months later, then cared for for longer until the egg hatches. (Babies grow sloooow.)

For EmhTalan, it depends on whether the mother is AmhTalan or human. AmhTalan-mothered EmhTalan are hatched from eggs -- it's what the mother's body knows to do, and it works. Baby just tends to hatch sooner. Human-mothered EmhTalan are born without an egg, but it can be really hard on the mother because they mature more slowly, so they're almost always born a little premature.

This is only vaguely related, sorry for the ramble. But. Dragon babies.

Hi, if its okay with you may I ask your help in a realistic anatomy of a pregnancy process? She's a draconic humanoid that's carrying both eggs and two live offspring, both that's either a elf baby or a elf-draconic humanoid hybrid; do you have any tips on how to make the carrying and birth of both eggs and live offspring realistic? Im not too sure, especially since the mother isn't mammalian and carrying another species offspring as well as a interspecies hybrid.

Oh this is a very interesting question. I will have to think about that and get back to you with more details later. First thing that comes to mind: how much does the draconic biology still affect the non-draconic babies? While they're not typically born in an egg, maybe being in a womb that does not naturally contain a mammalian amniotic sac/placental connection would cause a scenario where the mammalian babies need an "egg" of their own.

As an example, I'll mention my own winged humanoids here. They're the result of a deity going a little off the rails with her creative powers and combining the remnants of humanity with bird biology. Kinda wacky.

Over time they develop more on their own and become a fully functional species, but they have the biological quirk of still being able to sometimes have children with a few specific humanoid species. My protagonist is one such child, having been born to an elf woman.

I work this out by having the bird folks lay eggs that have a soft and semi translucent shell, and then the mixed species babies are born in an underdeveloped "shell" that's basically just a very thick amniotic sac.

Also worth mentioning: eggs are laid much sooner than a live baby would be born. They do most of their development outside the womb. So these bird folk lay they eggs only a couple weeks after conception and then the egg hatches about 100 days later. The mixed species babies like my protagonist, however, can't safely be born that early. He was born earlier than an elf child, but later than a full bird child would typically hatch after egg laying.

Your situation might require something similar. I'm not sure how that would affect the internal anatomy of the draconic birth mother, but it's a start. I'll try to get more ideas and make a better post on this later.
