HUIS BRESJES BRESKENS

  Huis Bresjes is a former farm turned into a holiday home for up to 15 people. If you want to explore Zeeuws-Vlaanderen with a group of friends or family, this is the place to be!

  The search for the perfect holiday home

Ghent residents Kim Lottefier and Grego Gevaert have been visiting Zeeland for more than eighteen years and they even married there. After years of camping in the region, they decided to look for a holiday home. The owner of the beach pavilion where they got married (Strand Loods 10) pointed them to this former farm. Actually a bit too big, but they soon realized that it is actually unique to be able to create a place where a large group of friends and family can come together.

  Polyester bathroom

The two owners of Huis Bresjes have a background in construction and therefore decided to do everything themselves. Kim’s first must was the polyester bathroom: a completely pink bathroom with bath. All rooms are decorated differently: the larger rooms have a private bathroom, the children’s rooms have extras such as a bunk bed. It will take a while to find (read: fight) who gets which room. Will it be the one with the pink bathroom, the one with the panoramic view of the nature of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen or a cozy bedroom on the ground floor?

  Authentic details with a modern touch

On the ground floor they kept as many authentic details as possible, such as the red tiled floor and the old ceiling. However, it has been supplemented with modern details, because, as owner Kim says: “I hate the country style and didn’t want to turn it into a Flamant home.” So she followed her gut feeling and looked for all kinds of beautiful brands. And made a custom-made kitchen. The view from the sink when you’re doing the dishes completely relaxes you (there’s also a dishwasher).

  Long dinners

Huis Bresjes has six rooms, a spacious living room, kitchen and there is an extended, new part of the house with a long communal table. A wonderful place for long dinners or game nights when it rains. The garden is also inviting. Children will run directly to the trampoline. The parents can chat for hours on the relaxed sofa. And there will be an outdoor kitchen soon.

  Surroundings

If you go to Breskens, you will be attracted to the sea, the polders and the wide beaches. But Breskens, and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in particular, is also the right place for those who want to enrich their holiday in a culinary way. A fifteen minute drive will take you to Cadzand, where you will find Pure C, AirRepublic and Blueness. But Eetboetiek in Sluis and Etablissement 1880 in Groede are also recommended.
