So, it's apparently been a year since I drew Eeksha (top) and Elayaraj's (bottom) portraits! I'm not going to post the first portraits because they're not bad, but they're meh in comparison to these haha! I thought I'd use this opportunity to talk about these two again (:
These two are the main characters in the book I'm writing. The book is heavily in the planning / development phase, so I have no idea when it would possibly be published (it doesn't even have a title bc idk what to title it ;v;). That aside my story is based in a Southeast Asian fantasy setting with Anitu as the gods and humans (named kawatao) walk amongst other fantastical creatures / beings.
Eeksha is the Anitu of Chaos, out for revenge against the other Anitu for sealing them away thousands of years ago. Don't let their soft face fool you ;v;
Elayaraj is a Kinnara Ba'walonan (the term I created for shamans/Babaylan in the Philippines). The snake around his neck is Charoenratsumi (Charoen or Charumi for short) and she's his spirit guide.

Apsara are celestial beings in Hindu and Buddhist religions. A type of female spirit/nymph/fae of the clouds and waters. A personification of dance for gods/ goddesses and deities. Their male counterparts are Gandharva; though they are typically musicians or singers.
This is my main character, Eeksha (enby; they/them), in a book l'm writing! Though, I can't think of a title for the life of me. That aside, Eeksha is the Anitu of Chaos. In Filipino folk religions (mainly in Luzon), Anito (or Anitu) referred to the ancestor spirits, nature spirits, and deities. Diwata was more commonly used in other ethnic groups like the Visayans. In my story, Anitu are the gods, creators, and regulators of the world, but of course, there usually are bad ones to balance the good ones. Villain MC anyone?
