So I’m at home and texting thm teases I know they can’t answer due to working and seeing what I can get away with before I get the “you’re done for when I’m home.’ Message. Then it’s all giggly and nervous waiting to hear them come in, but they don’t wreck me straight away they’re mean and draw it out.👉🏼👈🏼 hnng🙈 not that I’ve thought of this or anything…. Nooo

A bit of a confession: before I found the community, I was really uncomfortable with gang tickling.
My logic was: people already hate being tickled (obviously), and you can maybe barely find someone to tolerate it at all or at least not smack you afterwards (because pffft, no one could LIKE being tickled, that's crazy talk), so surely NO ONE could handle something as cruel and traumatizing as being pinned down and restrained by MULTIPLE ticklers, all attacking them all at once, with no hope of escape...
And then I found out lees exist. And that a shocking number of you - truly shocking, no sarcasm, still blows my mind when I see people post it - actually might kinda sorta want this. Or even beg for it, you wicked things. That the experience could be just as fun for them as it is for the eeevil ler gang. That maybe it can be just a fun group activity between multiple people who all trust each other completely and everyone can cut loose and, well... collaborate on a good time.
And just like that... I'm not just okay with it.
I would really like to be one of multiple lers someday.

Okay so I used to be Obsessed with the Lorax and one of the things I realized when I first heard Biggering- in that song, he says “who cares if some ///things/// are dying” where in the final cut they changed it to “a few trees”. I dunno, I’ve just always thought about that. It’s like they were writing a totally different movie and then changed their minds.
this is something i also noticed while putting that goddamn video together. it’s the only difference that passage has in the final version, and it’s pretty obvious that it is because unspecified general ‘things’ dying has worse implications than just ‘a few trees’ dying.
and yeah, i asked what happened to the movie in my post, but it was kind of a rhetorical question, because what happened is fairly easy to see: the higher-ups wanted the most kid-friendly and marketable movie they could get, and a lorax that retained the original’s message and intent was… not that. which isn’t to say that it couldn’t have been good or popular, as the book already is that, but it would have been so in a way that’s just not palatable to these folks, you know?
so they just made the movie have this very shallow pro-environmentalist message, while deliberately neglecting to explore the other aspects of the original story. they even made the once-ler not take much of the blame (he was being manipulated by his eeevil family, after all), and changed the poignant ambiguous ending into a happy laughy one, because children can’t handle that!!! everyone is happy!!!!
i think that what i meant with that post was that at earlier stages, when the artists involved are throwing around ideas and trying what’s best without much outside interference, the movie had more of a shot at being good. because as un-seuss as a rock opera ballad can be, it’s undeniable that biggering, even on it’s own, still retains the original story’s ideas way better than the entirety of the finished project… and that’s only what we can see! i imagine the first workprints of this movie must have been at least a little interesting.
