Promises | Edward Hayes
All our lives we have made some promises to someone that they think we will live up to but in reality, we don't even remember that we have made that promise. a promise is a promise and nowadays people just throw off promises like pieces of candy, and we see people not live up to their word and it is really shameful as well as embarrassing for you trying to remind someone of their promise to you.
Breaking a promise may not seem that alarming to you or anyone else but it hurts your reputation in their eyes and if they are close to you it also severs the relationship you have with them. how would you feel if someone else made a promise to you and after some time they don't even remember making it does not want to live up to their word, how you feel at that moment is what others also feel when you do the same thing to them.
Not fulfilling your promises to anyone also make you look like a liar and before you can notice it this becomes a habit and lying also makes people feel that they can get away with it and then you have to tell more lies to cover up just one lie and then the cycle continues and makes you an untrustworthy person in the eyes of other people.
The normal promise may not seem to hold that much importance and people might forget it but promises of love are sacred and if you do not live up to your word when it comes to love then what kind of a person you are? breaking promises in love is just going to shatter the other person's heart and make them feel unwanted as well and this is what the writer Edward Hayes talks about in his book Paris- the city of love.
About the author:
