AUSBILDUNG, Bekerja dan Kuliah di Jerman.
Mungkin kalian pernah mendengar apa itu ausbildung? Atau masih ada pertanyaan mengenai apa itu ausbildung?
Ausbildung merupakan salah satu program dari Pemerintah Negara Jerman yang memberikan kesempatan pada pemuda/pemudi dari seluruh dunia untuk mengikuti Program Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Profesi selama 3 tahun di Jerman. Ausbildung juga dikenal sebagai pelatihan kejuruan atau magang dimana pendidikan yang terkait profesi dan mengarah pada pekerjaan tertentu yang ada di Jerman. Pelatihan selama 3 tahun ini, setara dengan diploma D3 atau diploma D4. Setelah lulus dari program ini, kalian akan mendapatkan ilmu, keahlian berkualitas standar Eropa, dan sertifikasi keahlian standar Eropa yang diakui oleh seluruh dunia.
Tanggung jawab utama dari ausbildung adalah belajar, berlatih dan bekerja sesuai dengan keahlian yang dipilih. Saat menjalani program ini, sekitar 70% hingga 80% waktu pembelajaran menekankan pada praktik sekaligus bekerja di perusahaan. Dan sisa 20% hingga 30% lainnya dihabiskan untuk menjalani proses pembelajaran teori dan praktikum pada sekolah kejuruan. Peserta ausbildung menghabiskan 3 hingga 4 hari seminggu di tempat kerja dan 1 hingga 2 hari mengikuti pembelajaran di sekolah kejuruan.
Uniknya, mengikuti ausbildung ini kalian akan menerima gaji. Jadi program ausbildung sama seperti jika kita mengikuti magang di Indonesia.
Setelah 3 tahun menjalani program ausbildung ini dan dinyatakan lulus, kalian akan mendapatkan sertifikasi profesi berstandar Internasional yang dapat digunakan untuk mencari pekerjaan di negara lain di Eropa serta berkesempatan mendapat penawaran kerja di perusahaan tempat kalian melakukan ausbildung.
Apa saja sih persyaratan ausbildung?
1. Memiliki sertifikasi lulus ujian bahasa Jerman level B1 atau B2 yang dikeluarkan oleh Goethe Instutit.
2. Menulis motivation letter menggunakan bahasa Jerman.
3. Memiliki curiculum vitae dalam bahasa Jerman.
4. Menulis surat lamaran dalam bahasa Jerman.
5. Memiliki Ijazah pendidikan terakhir dan transkrip nilai yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Jerman.
Memiliki kemampuan berbahasa Jerman menjadi salah satu syarat wajib untuk mengikuti ausbildung ini. Lalu mengapa harus memiliki sertifikasi lulus ujian bahasa Jerman level B1 atau B2?
Tingkatan dalam bahasa Jerman ada 3, yaitu :
1. Level A1 dan A2 : pada level ini, kalian dapat mengenali, memahami, dan menggunakan kalimat-kalimat sederhana, seperti perkenalan diri, memperkenalkan orang lain, dll (level bahasa Jerman untuk komunikasi sehari-hari).
2. Level B1 dan B2 : pada level ini, kalian dapat memahami topik utama dari pokok bahasan tertentu, seperti pekerjaan, pendidikan, dapat menceritakan pengalaman, kejadian, harapan, impian, dll (level bahasa Jerman lanjutan yang dijadikan salah satu syarat untuk ausbildung).
3. Level C1 dan C2 : pada level ini, kalian dapat memahami beragam teks yang lebih panjang dan rumit, serta dapat menangkap makna dari teks tersebut, dapat merangkum informasi dari berbagai sumber baik lisan maupun tulisan dan dapat menjabarkannya kembali (level bahasa Jerman dengan kompetensi yang lebih tinggi).
Sertifikasi lulus ujian bahasa Jerman ini diperlukan agar tidak terjadi miskomunikasi yang berlebihan. Jika kalian sudah memiliki sertifikasi bahasa Jerman level B1 atau B2, bisa dipastikan bahwa kalian bisa memahami dan mempermudah untuk menyelesaikan program ausbildung ini.

As Burberry ultimately attempted to position itself in both the lifestyle (Ralph Lauren) and fashion (Gucci) categories, a significant challenge remained concerning Burberry’s ability to maintain this positioning over the long-term. By maintaining multiple positions across the retail spectrum, Burberry’s strategy opened up the company for competition from other entrants that competed in adjacent spaces in seperate industries, such as Target or Marshalls. Similarly, MBA programs, while offering standard products to its consumers such as accounting or finance classes, also have to identify a market niche and maintain market positioning in a highly competitive and saturated environment. M7 schools have the ability, due to rankings such as US News and World Report and legacy reputation, to command higher tuition and COA prices relative to other business schools. Additionally, MBA programs at top instutitions benefit from prestige spillover from the broader univerisites they are affiliated with. In order to achieve long-term success, MBA programs such as Sloan need to identify the unique attributes of their program to both maintain competitive advantage while also adapting to customer preferences and the broader education market. Online platforms such as HarvardX that offer similar course content may become more prevalent with the transition to remote work and learning, and the in-person experience may become perceived as less valuable overtime. Sloan will always have a niche within tech, entrepreneurship, and consulting, given the school’s job placement and faculty exeprtise, but may need to expand into new areas such as machine learning or AI for business, blockchain or fintech tracks, or ESG/sustainability specializations in order to adapt to desired student career paths over the next 5-10 years.

To maintain the scope of what you are saying and not going into some philosophical rant about about ‘shoulds’ and ‘deserving’, my trouble is finding the right help. For me, it’s talking occasionally and surrounding myself with people who share the same values, or at least have the mind to undstand differentiating values. Giving all Students a Voice is Key to More Effective Higher Education
Often, it is argued that higher education sometimes fails to achieve its desired objectives because students are not allowed to voice their opinions or given a platform to make decisions. The world is always in a state of flux. Students won’t stay in school forever. Once they are done with their studies, they must move on to the real world and embark on their respective careers. By giving students a voice and an opportunity to play a center stage role in the learning process, institutions will be adequately preparing them for the positions that they will play later on in the society.
Giving students a voice may entail throwing out traditional methods of learning. For instance, you can streamline the curriculum to address problems and issues that the students experience in their daily lives and their communities. In such a situation, it will be easier to garner the learners’ attention, since learning will be centered on things that are of interest to them. As a result, they are likely to actively participate in the learning process. Educators will be providing them with a platform that they can use to articulate their problems and what they think needs to be done to address such issues.
Why Student Voice is Valuable
At best, the role of students in the learning process is misguided. The education systems that are in use in many parts of the world are institution-focused rather than being student-focused. Students are perhaps the most important stakeholders in the education system, but instutitions don’t seem to understand this. Students dedicate a lot of their time, effort, and money to the pursuit of attaining a college degree.
As primary stakeholders, students ought to be valuable resources in all decision making processes at their institutions. None of the other stakehiolders have a better understanding of the school experience than students. They can easily identify what works and what doesn’t. Because they experience the learning process first-hand, students are the ones who can provide solutions to typical and atypical problems that plague the education sector.
Giving students a voice and a platform to communicate their needs is key to understanding the problems that they face within and outside the learning environment. Students are the ones who fail and drop out of school after becoming disillusioned, and therefore, no one is better suited to propose solutions to fix our broken higher education system.

Education Dept. Hires Exec From Scandalized For-Profit School To Run Enforcement Division
Dedicated and effective government employees can come from many prior walks of life, it’s true; the path through any career can be winding and complex. But choosing someone with major ties to a for-profit college that engaged in questionable behaviors to head up a division tasked with investigating for-profit colleges that engage in questionable behaviors seems like a bad sign.
There’s a new hire coming to the Department of Education, Politico reports: Julian Schmoke, currently a high-ranking director at a community college in Georgia, will be taking over as head of the Department’s Student Aid Enforcement Office.
What’s the job?
The Student Aid Enforcement Office was formed in early 2016, “as part of the Obama Administration’s aggressive action to protect students and taxpayers.”
The Enforcement Office basically works with other divisions within the Department of Education to investigate instutitions’ shady actions around student lending. Basically, it’s the gorup that handles alleged fraud on the part of for-profit colleges and universities.
What’s the problem?
The first head of the Enforcement division came from the FTC, where he had previously worked on consumer protection issues; that follows. But the same cannot be said of the new nominee: Prior to his current role as a college administrator, Schmoke spent several years working for DeVry University.
Yes, the same for-profit DeVry University you’ve probably seen commercials for — and the same DeVry University that just finished paying out $49 million in refunds to more than 17,3000 students after it reached a $100 million settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over those ads in late 2016.
In short, the Department of Education has now hired a guy who spent much of a career at a for-profit school busted for fraud… to head the department that helps determine which for-profit schools need to be busted for fraud.
Part of a pattern
The new hire is just one of many recent signals from the Trump Administration that the Department of Education is making a 180 on issues related to for-profit education.
Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos herself has financial ties to a student loan refinancer.
In June, DeVos named the head of a private, for-profit student lending company to run the Department’s Office of Financial Aid. That same month she also promised to “reset” rules that regulated for-profit colleges and held them more accountable.
And in July, it came out that the Education Department had not approved a single loan forgiveness claim since the start of the new Administration on Jan. 20.
So while it is theoretically possible that Schmoke’s ties to DeVry don’t mean he will be anything other than a stalward defender of students’ rights… probably best not to hold your breath.

i’d love to teach english abroad but i’m not white so despite graduating with a degree in education + significant work experience teaching english, i know my chances are slim. my cousin’s boyfriend teaches english in hong kong and he says that most schools only have one qualification for their teachers: you must be white. why? so they can show you off to the parents and brag about having “native” english speakers as teachers yada yada. so ok life’s not fair, white supremacy sucks but what am i going to do? i’ve been planning to study abroad to advance my career and earn additional teaching qualifications. the problem is IT’S SO EXPENSIVE! looking into post-grad studies in australia and the tution is crazy expensive for international students. so idk maybe i should just get a graduate diploma in a reputable academic instutition in asia or idk why do i even bother doing this
