Look, ranboo made a tasteless joke and acknowledged it and said he's sorry. He apologized because he thinks it's wrong. You're not a lesbian so stop saying "he doesn't need to apologize" let him do whatever he wants. If he wasn't sorry and wasn't thinking it was a wrong thing he wouldn't have apologized. Stop acting like he's 10 and can't decide doing stuff on his own.
1. i AM a lesbian. i’m not required to put everything about myself on my bio and it’s not your place to assume anything about me. stop with your condescending bullshit.
2. his joke doesn’t require an apology. it is not lesphobic or discriminatory in any way. thats a type of joke me and my other lesbian friends make FREQUENTLY and given that his joke wasn’t harmful in ANY way and it’s funny he’s allowed to make it. (you know how gay jokes are jokes when they’re a) not homophobic and b) funny? he has both of those. that’s a JOKE. not him being a discreet lesphobe.)
3. if you read my post properly and watch the stream properly you will see that this isn’t a simple situation that went like “cc made poor joke. apologized. everyone moved on. happy ending!”
i know what being close to having a panic attack looks like and i know how being close to tears sounds like. he’s already socially anxious enough and held to a pedestal high enough that he feels the need to apologize to people over anything.
this isn’t me babying him or dictating what he can or can’t do. this is me being worried about the harassment a teenager receives online and the repercussions of normalizing shit like this will have outside of the mcyt community too. go online and read about how children get radicalized with altright ideals. (tldr: it starts with them being forced into apologizing for everything that they completely dismiss all valid criticism.)
are you seriously not seeing how he’s been guilt tripped to address this? he deleted the message after he realized people could be hurt by it (that’s okay and that’s enough) and people dug that shit up, constantly threw it on his face to the point where he couldn’t ignore it anymore, and made him make an apology stream on it.
if you lied to someone enough times they’d start believing you, wouldn’t they? are you gonna still talk about how they’re free to make their own decisions then? he’s a person of his own but a. his decisions stop being his if he gets under fire as a public figure and b. him making his own decisions doesn’t make them any less harmful and the fanbase any less responsible.
