autumn is coming, & i want to respect myself again. i want to start making - & keeping - promises to myself again. this year has been so draining; i've been so strung out, living two lives, doing endless bereavement bureaucracy. but the sale on mum's house completes - please god - so soon, & then it is done. & i can attend to myself again. i want to rearrange the furniture in my bedroom. when i wake in the mornings, i want to stretch & do skincare & eat breakfast before i even think about looking at my phone. i want to swim three times a week. before i go to bed, i want to decide what i'm wearing tomorrow so my mornings are not wasted on paralyses of self-hatred, self-consciousness, self-absorption. i want to eat well. i want to drink less. i want to go outside every morning & remember the world. i want to play. i want to work. i want to feel good & solid & entire in myself.

#edinburgh era #starting pottery again on the 2nd #ordered goggles & a swimcap #getting a swim membership so i have a financial incentive to go to the pool #determined to make more of an effort to talk to people at my writing group #more life! more life!

as if i could ever believe i don't have love in my life. tonight one friend last minute wanted to come with me to another friend's poetry slam & we had the loveliest walk through snowy sludgy edinburgh to get there. then me & the poetry slam friend had drinks & got chicken & watched the traitors & now i'm curled up on their sofa in their joggers under a heated blanket with a glass of ice water. love is stored in the friendship. love is stored in the friendship !!!
