I use notion! I definitely didn’t build all my pages from scratch tho. I think creating a basic new page is easy enough, but the hardest part is both figuring out what you want in those pages and how to format them so that they’re aesthetically pleasing (and useable!). Thankfully so many ppl make YouTube videos sharing their Notions, and even offering their notion templates for free. It’s super easy to duplicate someone else’s page to yours and swap things out to fit your needs. Honestly I didn’t have the motivation to create my own notion acc until I learned you could duplicate other peoples pages/layouts. I tried motion once a few years ago and gave up because I wasn’t aware of this. But definitely look up some videos on how to create your own pages for scratch (or using some functions/shortcuts)

Overall, I’d say use your notion for the things you actually desire to track or document and it’s okay if that’s just 1-2 things— some ppl create super detailed accounts with trackers for 10+ things which is so cool, but that can feel overwhelming to start off with. It’s pretty easy to expand what you use your notion for over time so no rush!

yeah I think I’m gonna start extremely simply for now because I know I’ll just stop using it if it feels like too much work. I’ve already seen some really nice aesthetic notion pages that I aspire to one day achieve by myself. but I can tell this is going to be like a slow project lol. thank you for the tips, i really appreciate it!! <3

I use notion quite regularly but it was definitely difficult when i first started, i recommend finding templates (i use pinterest to find these) and importing them into your notion then editing them to fit what you want! there are so many pretty and aesthetic ones online that can be so helpful for learning how notion works! <3

Maybe it’s just me. But I feel like the only thing doing ANYTHING towards George Floyd and the og cause of these protests are the petitions and the donations, because these riots are ridiculous now. I mean, what are you achieving by breaking into these stores like adidas showrooms and Starbucks branches, breaking the property, stealing items... How are you representing George Floyd like this..? Maybe it’s just me..I’m sorry if I offended anyone, you don’t gotta post this if you don’t agree, bb💜

i know you don’t have bad intentions when writing this at all but i don’t agree with you and i feel like it’s a responsibility of mine to tell you exactly why.

the protests began peaceful, people went out unarmed, not with the intent to cause trouble but to speak with their voices and be heard. and they were met with armed cops, rubber pellets, tear gas, they were met with the very thing that killed the man/the people they are fighting for. they were met with cops who believe that they shouldn’t have a voice, cops who will try to silence them as they beg for their lives. what does that tell you? these people are not ready to listen to what they have to say at all!! if you were following closely you would know that the protests turned into riots not by the protesters but by white undercover cops meaning to aggravate the crowd, and give meaning behind their cowardly armour.

when white people riot their president calls them ‘good people’ that deserve to be heard, when black people riot their president calls them ‘thugs’ that deserve to be killed. are you seeing the difference here. how are you meant to stay peaceful when even your own president is unwilling to listen to your cries of help???! staying peaceful has brought them nothing but silence back, they are angry, they are frustrated and they have every right to be. if by rioting people will finally focus on them and listen to what they have to say, unfortunately that’s what people are going to do; because it’s the only way they feel like they have somewhat of a voice.

also, the media only portrays so much. there are so many peaceful protests going on and the media will never even think about showing you that. why? because these are all systems put in place to make black people constantly look like criminals. i saw a white man go to the riots with a bow and arrow, saying all lives matter while trying to shoot the protesters and the media labelled HIM as the victim when he got what was coming to him. i bet you haven’t heard about the man that pepper sprayed a fucking child. i bet you haven’t heard about the woman who went out trying to stab protestors. i bet you haven’t seen videos of cops randomly attacking people, shoving them, shooting them for nothing. why? because the media doesn’t want you to see that, they don’t want you to see that the people they swore to protect are the very people they are hurting.

so when you say these riots are ridiculous, maybe if they called off the cops that are trying to prevent them from having a voice they would see peaceful protest once again. maybe if the government decided to listen to them instead of sending in more cops, the national guard, and ice to dismantle them, maybe peace can be restored. maybe if they stopped shooting at people, maybe if they stopped arresting innocent people, maybe if they stopped for a minute and just heard, maybe peace can come back. but until then people have every reason to riot and i stand by them, and i hope they are all safe.

once again i understand you didn’t say this with any means to offend but i hope i have made you understand people’s struggle better. 💜
