The Sadenverse, reading order
Tumblr media

purple is not significant, it just means the arrows are layered so its just to separate them.

First off, the Sadenverse is a universe created across multiple series that Saxon James and Eden Finley have either written separately or co-written together. There’s no one “right way” to read these books, so you might come across minor spoilers depending on where you start. Personally, I didn’t read them in any particular order. I began with the Puckboys series, moved on to the CU Hockey series, and then jumped into the Mike Bravo Ops series without worrying too much about the reading order. That’s when I realized what the Sadenverse really was.
While reading the Mike Bravo Ops series, I discovered two things: first, there is a suggested reading order that doesn’t follow the chronological publication dates, and second, there are over 25 books in this universe, with more on the way from both authors. People on TikTok and Reddit have been discussing the best order to read them in. I found a map that was both helpful and a bit confusing—if that makes sense. I recommend checking out ‘Steph Sometimes Reads’ on TikTok for guidance on the reading order or this map I found on figma. The authors also have a reading order on their website, though I haven’t been able to find it myself, but others have mentioned it’s there.
Honestly, I don’t think the reading order is as crucial as some people make it out to be. If you want to dive into the entire universe, go for it! But if you’re a moody or picky reader, just read what you feel like and check the synopses and warnings for each book. I plan to read the whole universe, but I’ll drop a book if the characters start acting too stupid—I’m not about to subject myself to that, I have things to do.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Egotistical puckboy by Eden Finley and Saxon James
Summary:
EZRA
Partying, dudes, and hockey. What more could a gay NHL player want?
If it weren't for Anton Hayes, my life would be perfect.
Not that he affects my life in any way. At all. That would imply I care what the winger from Philly thinks of me.
Which I don't.
Not even a one-night stand with him can thaw his misplaced animosity toward me.
He says I'm the one with the ego, but he can talk. He rivals me for most egotistical puck boy in the league.
I hate him as much as he hates me. Even if I crave a repeat.
ANTON
When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game.
I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids.
My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all.
He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known.
We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens.
That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.
Review:
Enemies to FBW to lovers done so so well.
Both Anton and Ez are such good and complex characters, I went into this book expecting plotless smut - my brain needed a bit of a break and you guys know I love my smut readings - but I was surprised by not only how well rounded these characters were and the clear grow they both go through the book.
Of course the smut was also actually good, so in all it was a well rounded up book that even made me tear up a little! There's other books in this series focusing on different couples and I'm gonna try to get through them before I need to cancel my KU.

Stayed up until 2am (when my alarm goes off at 6) to finish this the same day I started because it was so good!!!
It might take Irresponsible Puckboys spot as favorite book in this series, but it's definitely tied.

In an official relationship for thirty seconds and the sex stops. I knew it would happen, but I don't think it's supposed to happen this fast.

Robaescenas maravillosos. 🥰💀

My eyes fall closed, blocking out the chaos around me, which isn’t the greatest idea because then I’m alone with my thoughts, and there isn’t a single one I want to listen to.

CU Hockey Series By: Saxon James & Eden Finley
Tumblr media
So after reading the Puckboys series, I decided to read the CU Hockey series. It was alright. Puckboys is so much better. But anyways here's my rapid fire review of the series.
✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫━✫
5. Line Mates & Study Dates (CU Hockey 4)
⭐ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ I really didn't like this book. Asher's POV was annoying at times, and while I understood his perspective, I just couldn’t get into it. It was so hard to read it.
4. Power Plays & Straight A's (CU Hockey 1)
⭐ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ This one was alright, not bad, but it’s very much an insta-love trope, which feels like a cop-out to me.
3. Goal Lines & First Times (CU Hockey 3)
⭐ ⭐ ☆ ☆ ☆ I liked this one until the end. Seth was kind of annoying and unfair to Cohen, but the representation of ace/aro people was a nice touch, something you don't see often or done well.
2. Face Offs & Cheap Shots (CU Hockey 2)
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ☆ I’ll always love enemies-to-lovers, and this book was so addictive to read. I can't wait to see more of Beck and Jacobs in the other books.
Puck Drills & Quick Thrills (CU Hockey 5)
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ☆ This one is the best so far. I loved Wes in the Puckboys series and it was great to see his story and how it connects with Puckboys. I absolutely loved the epilogue. Jasper and Wes had a better relationship than most of the other couples in the CU Hockey. I think it was because Wes and Jasper were adults.

I finished the the Mike Bravo Ops series as well. I'll post a rapid fire review later. As always please check out my blog

Puck Drills & Quick Thrills by Eden Finley
Tumblr media
This book, the final installment of the CU Hockey series, follows Westly, an NHL star turned college coach and legal guardian of his five younger half-siblings, and Jasper, a math professor who doesn't like jocks. I was a little hesitant; the "I don't like jocks" thing is not really for me in a lot of sports romances, but I was pleasantly surprised that that aspect was over pretty fast. What really sold me on this was basically that Westly is a hot mess. You already get the impression in the previous installment that Westly is in way over his head with his siblings, and it worked there to emphasize Asher's hidden qualities because he was the one providing emotional and practical support to his siblings where from his perspective, Westly was mostly taking care of physical needs. In this book, it becomes apparent that Westly's really, really trying, he just doesn't know how, which is not at all surprising given the circumstances, and it's heartwarming to see how he improves with his siblings over the course of the book. It's also what makes the relationship with Jasper really work, because it's so clear that Jasper provides the emotional support Westly needs to be in a place to take care of others. The added sexual component of the caretaking also really worked for me, ngl. All in all, it's a very adult romance, which is maybe more telling about me as a reader, but there you go. Up in Flames by Eden Finley & Saxon James
SANDEN
When it’s your job as groomsman to tell the groom his wedding isn’t happening, the smartest thing to do is get it over and done with and then tell the guests to leave.
Yeah, well, I never said I was smart.
I might … accidentally, maybe on purpose, suggest to Remy that the best form of revenge is to have a party anyway. I mean, he’s already got catering, a DJ, and guests, so what better time to throw a petty party?
My loser high school friend never deserved him anyway. If I’d had the chance, I would have locked Remy down years ago.
Only, when the party leads to a drunken kiss, going on their honeymoon, and sharing their marital bed, I have to say, I’m not entirely sad that their wedding went up in flames.

My Review: 5/5 Stars
Sanden has had feelings for Remy since the moment they met. But unfortunately before he could ask him out, his friend (but not really a friend) gets there first. Three years later, it's Remy's wedding day and he is left at the altar by Eman and Sanden is the one to tell him. And somehow that leads to having a petty party where Remy can get drown his sorrows. They even after end up finding themselves going on the honeymoon together so Sanden can be there for Remy. Remy has had mixed feelings bout his so called fiancé for a while now and after being left at the altar he begins to think his gut was right. But things are so complicated. Like Sanden. The man he once had a crush on but thought never liked him after he started dating Eman (along with some nifty lies from Eman as well). And the more Remy dwells on his new ex, the more red flags are going up. Sanden becomes a great support to Remy and things for them get complicated when feelings for one another come to light. However, their love story will be anything but easy. The two of them have a lot of things they have to deal with emotionally. And they know the dangers of starting anything too fast could hurt their future. A future that the two of them want more and more each day. I really loved this story! But oof, the angst and hurt and comfort that these two have to go through is quite a doozy. However, you can't help but cheer for the two of them to work their way back to one another once they can start to heal and solve these unresolved issues of their pasts. But! There is definitely plenty of romance between them and lots of laughs from them and other favorite characters throughout. I couldn't put the book down! This is one you don't wanna miss!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
