✨masterpost of my works✨
posted to my ao3
[this post is subject to editing in the future]
Since I intend on using Tumblr a bit more now, and because I like neat lists, I thought it'd be prudent do make a little list of what I have out on ao3 right now!
My name's Looth, and I am ENTIRELY at the whims of my hyperfixations. I'm on twitter and pillowfort by the same handles, but I rarely use the latter.
fandoms: Stranger Things, Our Flag Means Death, The Witcher (Netflix) and Good Omens
[list under the cut!]
fanfiction
Good Omens:
A Nanny? In MY Summoning Circle?
A twoshot wherein Warlock Dowling meets his Nanny again, via the very normal uni student past time of trying to summon a demon with a book you found in a dodgy bookshop. Very fluffy, genderqueer Warlock.
[Complete] 2/2, 10.5k
The Witcher (Netflix):
The Viscount
[geraskefer endgame]
A 5+1 that works on the premise that "I'm from Lettenhove" is a sort of codeword in the royal class for children that have fallen out of grace with their court/family? And the higher your rank in Lettenhove, the worse the thing you have done is? Lots of Jaskier shenanigans, aggressive found family and genderfluid Jaskier.
Based on a post by @artistsfuneral.
[WIP] 3/?, 1.3k
build me up, buttercup [rated M]
[geraskefer endgame]
A longfic I've been chipping away at since 2020, dear God. Features Jaskier and Yen being fake married and co-parenting Ciri, Geralt getting adopted, the found family inherent to bards and the city of Oxenfurt, ftm Jaskier and Ciri having a well-deserved identity crisis. Also, ocs galore, gratuitous academia, and also Valdo Marx is immortal and Jaskier's annoying best friend.
Geraskefer endgame. My baby, who I will return to as soon as I am able.
[WIP] 15/?, 64k
Our Flag Means Death:
the inertia series [rated E]
a three-part series following Israel Hands as he attempts to move on from the things keeping him trapped in amber, unable to grow.
[steddyhands endgame]
[Complete] 62.9k
1. love like a dog on a leash
Izzy Hands encounters an old friend in the form of Sam Bellamy, Ed starts a barfight, and Stede learns some backstory.
All of these men are haunted in some way.
1/1, 5.5k
2. open season
Izzy Hands finds himself inexplicably being courted by various pirates to be their first mate. No one has addressed that fact that he isn't looking for a new Captain; he already has two. Steddyhands endgame, features some Jackhands.
A long look at the dynamics between Ed and Izzy, and now Stede, and the older dynamics of Ed, Izzy, Calico Jack Rackham and Sam Bellamy. Actually, it's a look at Izzy himself, and his various traumas and the way he's transitioning from being in a Black Sails type dark genre to this weird muppet land everyone else on this ship seems to live in.
7/7, 44.5k
3. red sky at morning
An epilogue, wherein the boys all contend with the future on the horizon; the good and the bad of it.
1/1, 11.9k
stranger things
[my current hyperfixation send help]
Eddie Munson and the Dreamboy
[steddie]
Wherein Eddie and El traverse the inside of Steve's mind, and encounter various Steves at different points in his life trying to find where he's hidden himself to escape Vecna's final curse.
A 5+1, featuring Steve's Scoops Ahoy flirting, a little baby Steve, and El's hair.
[Complete] 1/1, 8k.
Dustin Henderson and the Lovebirds
[steddie]
Five times Dustin Henderson was subjected to Eddie Munson being gross and sappy and in love with Steve Harrington, and one time Steve didn't even have to be there.
Features Steve being serenaded, Eddie Munson's Roger Rabbit Impression, Steve's Tiny Gym Shorts, and a good old fashioned worm conversation. Also, gay dnd.
[Complete] 1/1, 9.7k
always burning, world keeps turning
a two-part series set in a soft post-apocalyptic Hawkins, where community and family keep everyone going. And Steve and Eddie kiss about it.
[steddie]
[WIP]
1. took you for a working boy
In a post-apocalypse, mildly nightvale-flavoured Hawkins, Steve and Eddie are the only ones who aren't aware they're dating. Steve does not have a gender crisis but does have a lot of difficulty finding the words for it all, Eddie is oblivious but earnest (and running a radio show, Dr. Death Defying or Cecil Palmer style), Steve and Robin are ACTUALLY soulmates, and everyone's doing their best.
I cannot stress how much everyone thinks they're already dating. Featuring genderqueer Steve, disaster gay Eddie, scheming younger teens, and lots of stobin fluff.
[complete] 6/6, 43.8k
2. hometown blues
The sequel to working boy, wherein Gareth, Vickie and Steve's mom encounter how fucking weird Hawkins has got in their absence, and take it with varying degrees of grace.
[WIP] 3/? 17k
off-script
Wherein Steve Harrington has his sexuality all figured out, Eddie's in comically heavy denial, and everything rapidly snowballs from there.
[steddie]
1. off the beaten path
Wherein Steve figures out he's bi before Eddie figures out he's gay, but Eddie STILL manages to fall first.
Features Steve talking himself though discovering his sexuality in approximately five minutes while on the phone with a baffled Jonathan, and him aggressively flirting with the local metalhead. He's also very good at being an unreliable narrator.
It ALSO features said local metalhead (who thinks himself straight) accidentally flagging, calling Steve Harrington princess in a totally straight way, and doing the ttrpg equivalent of doodling your crush's name on a notebook over and over. Also, somehow he's convinced himself he just hates Steve.
This won't end badly for anyone, I'm sure.
[Complete] 6/6, 34.2k
2. no boys allowed
Robin Buckley has her very first Girls' Day. She gets her hair braided, consoles her heartbroken best friend, and everyone muddies the water a bit on the exact definition of what a Girl is.
Steve Harrington has a good cry about Eddie Munson.
[Complete] 1/1, 7.5k
3. here be dragons
Eddie Munson has kissed a boy, and now he has to handle the fallout. He's got to grapple with the fact that he likes boys, likes a boy, and the harrowing fact that he may have inadvertently broken said boy's heart.
Or, a rapidly snowballing fic that's become a series of character studies by accident. Features Mike Wheeler kicking Eddie's ass into gear, ruminations on being a fashion-assigned dom, Steve Harrington's Various Abandonment Issues, and a surprise Tommy Hagan.
[WIP] 6/?, 38.9k
original works:
court of law
A mildly unhinged second person pov piece about a person going to college and finding that he's trapped in a bizarre dreamscape with no memories. And a new body. He accidentally steals a cute boy's name.
Lots of shenanigans, lots of gender and bad jokes.
[WIP] 6/?, 13k

A Golden Boy…a TRUE American Hero.
Adam McKay’s DEATH ON THE LOT podcast, episode 3 features John Garfield unjust framing by HUAC.
The guests on the podcast are ALL the people I would have selected to interview: daughter, actor and artist, Julie Garfield; authors, Robert Nott and Isaac Butler, and also a surprise—actor, Lee Grant one of the few remaining to be blacklisted in Hollywood in the 50’s. Excellent commentary by all. Good on you, Adam McKay and team!
The Red-Baiting of a Golden Boy | Episode 3 | A new generation of actors questioned the status quo; a rattled establishment fought back; dire consequences ensued. We’re talking John Garfield, Hollywood’s first method actor. LISTEN
"When I was originally requested to appear before the committee, I said that I would answer all questions, fully and without any reservations, and that is what I have done. I have nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to hide. My life is an open book. I was glad to appear before you and talk with you. I am no Red. I am no pink. I am no fellow traveler. I am a Democrat by politics, a liberal by inclination, and a loyal citizen of this country by every act of my life.”
—John Garfield’s statement before House Un-American Activites Committee (HUAC) on April 23, 1951.
All Julie wanted to do was what he did best: ACT. They took everything away from him. Despite that, he held his street cred. He gave away not a single name during his testimony. No ratting on friends and associates from Julie. Badass.
The others involved: Shameful. Shocking that Julie’s life and livelihood could be toyed with so heartlessly and carelessly. This was a man who did so much for his country. How could the ruthless, power hungry politicians ignore these examples of John Garfield’s patriotism?
During WWII, he cofounded—after bringing the suggestion to Bette Davis—the Hollywood Canteen. The Canteen operated from October 3, 1942 through November 22, 1945 (Thanksgiving Day), as a club offering free of charge: food, dancing and entertainment for service personnel usually on their way overseas. Nearly four million people were served as they were serving us!
The Hollywood Victory Caravan included Eddie Dowling, President of Camp Shows, Ray Bolger, Mitzi Mayfair, Louis Polanski, Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Jane Pickens, Benay Venuta, and John Garfield serving as master of ceremonies. One of the first USO tours, Flying Showboat revue toured U.S. military bases in the Caribbean. These celebrities performed under some extremely trying conditions, as the weather was brutally hot and many of the camps were not equipped to host theatrical performances. The show must go on (!) and it did.
Julie running an event at the Canteen.
Julie entertains the troops! Audience members at the Canteen filled the hall.
Here he is selling War Bonds to support WWII efforts with Humphrey Bogart in 1943. Not sure who is pictured with them.
Julie championed the story of real life marine hero, Al Schmid bringing it to the screen in PRIDE OF THE MARINES. He read about the hero in LIFE magazine and brought the idea for a film to the studio. He stayed with Sargent Schmid and his wife for a couple weeks to portray the man respectfully and honesty.

RULES
RULE ONE/OOC INFORMATION Hi, my name is Kel, I'm over 21+ and use the pronouns she/her. Time zone is GMT.For now, my blog will run on a queue as I'm busy with some real life stuff. But sometimes, I may come online for an hour or two, depending on my mood. Blog is selective, private and mutual only. Also OC, multi fandom and multi-muse friendly too.
RULE TWO/THREADS AND REPLIES Replies can take a while to reply to, but I am not ignoring anyone. Please message if I haven't replied within a month. The best way to begin threads are through sending ask memes. I will also post open starters and maybe the occasional starter call. Not really a plotting person either; prefer to go with the flow.
RULE THREE/TRIGGERS I don't really have any triggers. That being said I will tag other people's triggers the best I can, and if I don't feel free to send a message and let me know. Don't send anon hate either. We all make mistakes and can't remember everything. Regarding shipping, I'm open to anything really. That being said, don't force any ships on any of my characters. I'll just unfollow/block if it continues to happen.
RULE FOUR/ETIQUETTE I do not tolerate any forms of hate. Racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia and any other forms of hate are not tolerated on this blog and I don't want to see any of it on the dash. It's an immediate hard block if I see anything. Respect each other, it's not that hard.
RULE FIVE/SHIPPING. Regarding shipping, I'm open to anything really. That being said, don't force any ships on any of my characters. I'll just unfollow/block if it continues to happen. I mostly ship for chemistry, but don't mind discussing ships beforehand if anyone wants to try anything out.
RULE SIX/SMUT AND MATURE THEMES Smut will not be featured on this blog. All other mature themes will be tagged accordingly and I'm pretty much open to anything except rape, incest etc.
CREDIT All gifs, icons etc on this blog do not belong to me. Credit goes to their rightful owners.

The Blue Dahlia, 1946
Blue Dahlia is an American film noir, released in 1946 and directed by George Marshall. It was the only Raymond Chandler's movie written for the screen.
Starring Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, William Bendix, Howard Da Silva, Doris Dowling
This film fascinates us by having a captivating and mysterious atmosphere. Dangerously beautiful women like Johnny Morrison's (Alan Ladd) unfaithful wife (Doris Dowling), a few undercover detectives as well as extortionists, femmes fatales and mysterious charming men frame this mystery film.
Johnny Morrison (Alan Ladd) returns to his wife, Helen (Doris Dowling), in Hollywood after fighting in the South Pacific, and with him are two military friends, George (Hugh Beaumont) and shell-shocked Buzz (William Bendix). Johnny is stunned to discover Helen's unfaithfulness with a local nightclub owner named Eddie (Howard Da Silva), who then breaks it off with her. When Helen is found murdered, everyone seems to have a motive.
The strength of the film is that until the end there are twists and surprises regarding the revelation of the killer..

In the 1940s, Broadway actors were nationally famous. Williams Shaving Cream put two of them, Sir Charles Aubrey Smith and Eddie Dowling (then appearing in the first run of The Glass Menagerie) in an ad that appeared in the July 1, 1946 edition of Time.

THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED
1940
“The Little Dog Laughed” is a musical comedy in two acts with music and lyrics by Harold J. Rome, book by Joseph Schrank, and produced by Eddie Dowling. It premiered in August 1940.
The production featured 14 scenes and 234 costumes.
Much was made of the fact that this expensive show would be the first of the new season on Broadway.
Just prior to “The Little Dog Laughed” producer Dowling had great success with William Saroyan’s “Time of Your Life”. Dowling knew the show would take the summer off, so “Little Dog” would fill the gap in his creative timeline. And what better place to kick off a summer musical than Atlantic City?
The Garden Pier (Boardwalk and New Jersey Avenue) opened on July 19, 1913, and had a garden with statues. The pier was home to the B.F. Keith's Theatre which rivaled Broadway at the time.
Multiple performers including Douglas Fairbanks and Sophie Tucker, the play “Tobacco Road” and “George White's Scandals” premiered at the theatre. In 1921, the first Miss America pageant was hosted at the pier. The pier was damaged in the 1944 Great Atlantic hurricane and reopened in the 1950s.
Speaking of fairy tales, the title of the tuner is taken from a nursery rhyme.
Hey, diddle, diddle, the cat and the fiddle The cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such fun And the dish ran away with the spoon.
It seems there were as many waves on the stage as there were on the beach, causing Dowling to do some re-casting, re-writing, and re-scheduling.
ATLANTIC CITY, August 13, 1940
A fabulous Hitlerland, as Lewis Carroll might have imagined it, gave a twist of novelty to "The Little Dog Laughed," the billowing and ebullient extravaganza which brought Eddie Dowling back after five years to his role of musical comedy producer with tonight's premiere at the Garden Pier Theatre.
An audience that jammed the theatre to capacity, and which included many New York notables, found that the satirical slant of dictators and their doings was considerably swamped in the kaleidoscopic carnival of bizarre costumes, beautiful dances, comic grotesqueries, and the eagerly animated efforts of the huge cast assembled by Mr. Dowling for his effervescent relaxations after producing such prize-winning plays as "Shadow and Substance and "The Time of Your Life."
GOOD-NATURED FANTASY
The show, in fact, is just, a good-natured fantasy of the Christmas pantomime sort, and the dictator conceived by Joseph Schrank as librettist, and impersonated by 11-year-old Eric Roberts as an unbearably brash brat was no more terrifying than Little Billee dressed as a mock Napoleon might have been.
All of these antics took place in a sort of Never-Never Land, to which the entire ensemble was transplanted after the brash brat set off a firecracker in the prologue, though me Brooklyn Bridge and the Trylon and Perisphere were glimpsed in the background of the opening scene.
ANIMAL IMPERSONATIONS
Here the supposed victims of a dictator-ruled country seemed to be having a delightful time playing at animal impersonations, warbling the fetching tunes provided by Harold T. Rome, dancing the beautifully staged ensembles devised by Chester Hale, and basking in the highly imaginative and beautiful settings by Jo Mielziner.
And despite the insufferably hot night, steam poured from Jets at the front of the stage, and the moving stage kept the production on the go, physically, even when the plot lagged.
MILLI MONTI IN CAST
Mill! Monti, who hails from Italy and reached the production by way of some New York night spots and a few picture productions, was vivacious and charming in her dark, petite way as the Brooklyn "Princess" who had to be thrown to a fearsome dragon symbolizing terror in the totalitarian state by way of appeasement. She sang her songs with a provocative accent, and she was ably abetted by Paul Draper as her Prince Charming and avowed rescuer.
Eric Roberts was so infuriating as the "Kid" dictator, who carried on the old family custom of making things tough for his parents, as to be most amusing.
PHILIP LOEB BECOMES COW
Philip Loeb was transformed from a mild neighbor into a cow that had to give Imitation milk to order undo the dictator rule, and Arthur Hunnicutt, recently seen in Philadelphia in Love's Old sweet Song" as the doleful "Okie" father, invested with melancholy mirth, his role of a man assigned to the task of finding a Princess every so often to be thrown to the fearsome dragon.
The Queen and King of Totalitarian Land, as might have been imagined, were the most abject of puppets cowed by the Number One. But the King brought droll reminder of Victor Moore. These, and many more, flitted in and out of the huge production. "The Little Dog Laughed" is an opulent, eye-filling production, and its cast works industriously every minute. But its sheer size subdues its spontaneity and spirit, and even as the mildest of satire, It is impossible to take it too seriously.
After Atlantic City, the musical comedy moved to The Shubert in Boston for two more weeks of tinkering. It was expected to transfer from there to Broadway, but...
...by the end of August - in the middle of its run - the show closed “out of town” in Boston.
The new season remains unbaptized through the floppo of the first effort of 1940-41. This was a costly musical "The Little Dog Laughed" which perished after trying it on the dog in Atlantic City and Boston. The real trouble was the little towns laughed it off and left Eddie Downing with $100,000 worth of wounds
Incidentally the re-capture of Atlantic City as a try-out town is good going. When that burg was hot the break-in used to be as exciting as the NY opening and much more festive.
Dowling still held out hope that “Little Dog” would laugh again in November and December 1940, when these gossip items appeared in newspapers. Needless to say, Laurel and Hardy did not appear - and nor did the “Little Dog”.
Another item said that Dowling was recasting and mentioned Ray Bolger and Deanna Durbin for leads. Again - nothing came of this and the “Little Dog” remained silent.
If nothing else, “The Little Dog Laughed” introduced "Pins and Needles” composer Harold Rome to book musicals. He went on to write “Call Me Mister” (1946) and “Wish You Were Here” (1952), “Fanny” (1954), “Destry Rides Again” (1959), and “I Can Get It For You Wholesale” (1962), which marked the debut of 19 year old Barbra Streisand.
MORE DOGS LAUGHING
The “Little Dog’s” laugher silenced, Dowling immediately returned to Broadway with a return engagement of his 1940 hit, William Saroyan’s “The Time of Your Life” which he again staged and starred in.
Surprisingly, the title “The Little Dog Laughed” is also the name of a musical revue playing at the London Palladium in 1940. It began its record-breaking run in 1938.
Virginia Woolf titled her July 1940 short story "The Little Dog Laughed” while Dowling was in rehearsals for his “Little Dog”.
There was also a 1950 comedy titled “The Little Dog Laughed” written Ken and Vera Tarpley, set in 1940 “in one of America’s smaller cities.” The play is sometimes produced by community and school theatre companies.
Probably more familiar to modern audiences is Douglas Carter Beane’s “The Little Dog Laughed,” a cynical look at Hollywood. It was produced off-Broadway, and transferred to Broadway’s Cort Theatre. Bringing “Little Dog” full circle, the Cort is the same theatre where Eddie Dowling presented Eva LeGallienne in “Madame Capet” in 1938, and Jessica Tandy in “The White Steed” in 1939.
