Here’s another one of my go-to places for Tagalog resources. You guys might know Sir Edgar Calabia Samar as the author of Janus Silang, a popular Filipino YA fantasy series. On his patreon, he provides countless Tagalog writings like blog posts, writing advice, book recommendations, actual chapters from stories he’s currently working on, behind the scenes and commentaries on his published works, and republished works through his new publishing imprint.

I’ve been a patron for almost a year now, and he puts out more content than I can hope to consume in a month. (I don’t know how he does it, because in addition to writing, he’s a professor at a Japanese University, so he’s just working on a totally different plane of existence than the rest of us.) His patreon rewards are currently my primary way of practicing and improving my Tagalog literacy. Also, he’s the only author I know of right now who is writing epic high-fantasy in Tagalog. So if you’re a fan of that genre like I am (it’s my fave), definitely check him out! Even subscribing as a first tier patron will get you a lot of good stuff!

I wasn't able to go to the MIBF where these books were launched because of work and duties. So when Sir Edgar Samar posted that he was going to do online orders, I grabbe the opportunity and ordered these. I have the '101 Kagila-gilalas na Nilalang' but still bought the new and updated one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As for Janus Silang, I have been waiting to read this and know what happens after the 3rd book. This series takes you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions and also into a new world where anything can happen. I remember, while reading the 1st book, I had to pause once in a while to catch my breath and look around thinking that the 'Tiyanak' might be somewhere close. I was that paranoid. Hahaha. [165] Trese: Bloodlines Vol 1 by @budjette tan and @kajobaldisimo ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Finally purchased this after holding back for so long and sakto, release ng Trese on Netflix. Sabi ko kasi na ang dami ko pang libro na kailangan basahin, pero naalala ko na komiks to, technically, hindi siya libro, kaya okay lang na bilhin ko na. Hahaha. Excited to read more on the Trese Universe. 😁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Having read almost all the Trese komiks (except Trese 7 and this one) I am so happy to see Trese as an animation.
