Sumeru Men during Ganesh Chaturthi.
♥♥♥Okayy this might be a little too niche but for that 1% desi genshin fans pspsppspspps. ♥♥♥
A/N: Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival we celebrate in india, where we bring an idol of the popular hindu deity Ganesh home.
﹆ꕤ⊹Desi Sumeru Head cannons: Ganesh Chaturthi special.﹆ꕤ⊹
.. ♥Kaveh, Al Haitham, Cyno, Wanderer, Tighnari ft. Kaeya ♥ ..
Kaveh Head of decorations. Art child of the house forced into becoming the head designer for the festival. The entire responsibility of the decoration is pushed onto him, whether he's okay with it or not. By the end of it he'll be sitting on the ground with flower garlands and fairy lights around his neck. STRESSEDDD, he has to get the space ready before they actually bring the Ganpati idol home and right now nothing is sticking to the wall, the lights look ugly and Al Haitham is getting on his last nerve.
Cyno SELLOTAPE MAN, bro cannot be trusted with anything other than cutting small pieces of sticky tape and holding them ready for kaveh. He might even start sticking them on Scara's hat so that they're easier to peel.  He has a little shop of every type of sticky tape available- the double sided one, masking tape, the yellow coloured one for the light arrangements and the clear see-through ones, whatever you want. Will offer bad jokes with every piece. Also primarily here for the spiced milk.
Tighnari The environmentalist that goes on about how they should use eco- friendly decorations and ban polystyrene but does nothing to actually help. Will bring all the raw material for the flower and fruit arrangement and that's his only contribution. The rest of the time he'll play music and and give Kaveh bad advice. Also the kind to get modak edibles for the gang so they're all high as hell during the ceremony. The kind of soft launch his s/o to his fam by inviting them to the festival.
Wanderer The non-native that's experiencing it for the first time. Let's be honest, his mom forced him to be here. He could not give a flying fuck about what the festival is and why its celebrated. But apparently its important to socialize, so fine he'll show up. He's given the huge bundle of fairy lights, pulled straight out of the attic so he can sit in a corner untangling them while the others conceptualise the decorations. Eventually has to work with the sellotape man. His hands hurt from holding the lights up because kaveh can't make up his mind on where they look good. The wires are old so might get electrocuted accidently. Also complains about the noise pollution outside, then dances his ass off during Visarjan, after eating Tighnari's edible. Al Haitham The critic. Exists solely to shit on all of Kaveh's ideas. He'll lounge around the room, not involving himself in anything, but the moment Kaveh assembling things he'll point out everything he's doing wrong. Will give random pointers until Kaveh rips his hair out. 100% will start fighting. "WHY ARE YOU HERE THEN? JUST WHY ARE YOU HERE? GO HOME" "I'm here because you're incompetent." ♥ "Yeah, that is not going to hold."  "Stfu Al Haitham, I'm the architect here, you think i don't know how these things work? I know what materials work with what kind-  The entire decoration crashes down on him the moment he says this, its 3am in the morning and kaveh is on the verge of tears.  "Told you so."  ♥ Kaeya The one NRI cousin that lives abroad and cries on Instagram over how much they miss the festival. Will dress up regardless to take pictures, attempt to make the sweets on their own and video call their fam all the time. Somehow finds an university club, or local desi community that celebrates the festival in that country and spams on socials.
bwhahahaah this was so much fun to write, i was actually imagining them as me and my cousins.

In many of India's regional cultures, religious festivals end with the ritual submersion of the god or goddess's statue in water. Now, due to issues of aquatic pollution and harms to life forms, various initiatives attempt to address this specific issue.

Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi: Best Wishes to All from Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore
Tumblr media
Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is one of the most joyously celebrated Hindu festivals in India, honoring Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of beginnings. This auspicious festival typically falls in the months of August or September, marking the start of a ten-day festival filled with vibrant rituals, prayers, and community gatherings across the country.
The Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi
Historical and Cultural Importance
Ganesh Chaturthi holds deep historical and cultural significance in Indian traditions. It is believed to have originated in the state of Maharashtra during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as a public festival to unify people against colonial rule and foster a spirit of unity and patriotism. Over time, it has transcended regional boundaries to become a national celebration symbolizing harmony and togetherness.
Religious Observances and Rituals
Devotees prepare meticulously for Ganesh Chaturthi, cleaning and decorating their homes and setting up elaborate pandals (temporary structures) to house Ganesha idols. The festival commences with the Pranapratishtha, the ceremonial installation of the idol, followed by daily prayers, offerings (prasad), and aarti (devotional songs). Modaks, a sweet delicacy considered Lord Ganesha’s favorite, are prepared and distributed as a gesture of reverence.
Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore’s Perspective on Ganesh Chaturthi
Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, a distinguished Indian politician and former Olympian, extends his heartfelt wishes to all on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. His admiration for the festival stems from its ability to unite people from diverse backgrounds in celebrating faith, positivity, and communal harmony. Colonel Rathore emphasizes the festival’s role in promoting cultural values and social cohesion, reflecting its importance in today’s interconnected world.
Celebrations Across India
Maharashtra: The Epicenter of Festivities
Maharashtra, particularly Mumbai, witnesses unparalleled fervor during Ganesh Chaturthi. The streets come alive with processions carrying beautifully crafted idols of Lord Ganesha, accompanied by traditional music and dance. The immersion procession on Anant Chaturdashi, the last day of the festival, is a spectacle as thousands bid adieu to their beloved deity amidst chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”
Southern India: Unique Traditions and Customs
In southern states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with equal zeal. Homes and community centers host Ganesha idols adorned with fragrant flowers and vibrant decorations. Families come together to perform Ganesh puja, offer prayers, and share festive meals, reinforcing bonds and fostering a sense of unity.
Northern India: Embracing Diversity
In states like Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, Ganesh Chaturthi is marked by communal harmony as people from different backgrounds participate in the festivities. Public pandals showcase awe-inspiring idols of Lord Ganesha, attracting devotees and tourists alike. The festival transcends religious boundaries, exemplifying India’s cultural diversity and spirit of inclusivity.
Environmental Consciousness: Embracing Eco-Friendly Celebrations
Shift Towards Sustainability
In recent years, there has been a growing awareness about the environmental impact of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Many communities and individuals are opting for eco-friendly Ganesha idols made from clay and natural materials, which dissolve in water without harming aquatic life. This eco-conscious approach reflects a commitment to preserving the environment while honoring religious traditions.

In today’s busy world, people are always on the lookout for ways to make their lives more convenient — and this includes their spiritual practices. Traditionally, visiting temples, booking priests, and organizing ceremonies required time and effort. However, with the advent of online puja booking services, it’s now possible to perform religious rituals, prayers, and ceremonies with just a few clicks, no matter where you are.
What is an Online Puja Booking Service?
An online puja booking service allows you to schedule various religious services, such as pujas (prayers), havans (fire rituals), and other ceremonies, through an online platform. These services connect you with experienced priests and temples, making it easy to plan, customize, and even participate in pujas from the comfort of your own home.
By blending modern technology with traditional spirituality, these platforms enable individuals to conduct rituals, seek blessings, and celebrate important occasions, without the need to travel to temples or deal with logistical challenges. Whether it’s a personal need, an auspicious event like a wedding, or a special festival, online puja services cater to all these needs and more.
How Does Online Puja Booking Work?
Booking a puja online is easy and convenient. Here’s a step-by-step guide to how it works:
Choose the Puja or Ritual: You can browse through a list of available pujas on the platform, ranging from simple prayers for health or prosperity to larger rituals for significant life events, such as weddings, housewarmings, or starting a new business.
Select a Priest or Temple: Many services allow you to choose a priest based on their expertise, the type of ceremony, or even their location. You can also read about the priests' background and experience before making your choice.
Customize the Service: Depending on the platform, you may be able to personalize the puja by selecting specific offerings, prayers, mantras, or even the type of pooja that suits your needs best.
Payment: Once everything is set, you can securely pay for your puja through an online payment gateway. The cost may vary depending on the puja’s complexity and the priest’s fees.
Attend Virtually or Live Streaming: If you can’t attend the puja in person, many platforms offer live streaming or recorded sessions so you can participate virtually. Additionally, you may have the option to have the puja performed at your preferred location, with offerings sent to your home.
Benefits of Online Puja Booking Services
Convenience and Flexibility: With online puja booking, you can organize and schedule spiritual rituals whenever it’s most convenient for you, without having to leave home or take time off from work.
Access to Experienced Priests: These services provide you access to skilled priests who specialize in various pujas, ensuring the rituals are done correctly and according to tradition.
Available Anywhere: For people living in remote locations or abroad, online puja services in India and around the world make it easy to conduct religious rituals without needing to be physically present at a temple.
Variety of Pujas: Whether you’re looking for a simple prayer for well-being or a more elaborate ceremony for a special occasion, puja services online offer a wide range of options to cater to different needs and occasions.
Clear and Transparent Pricing: Most online puja platforms provide upfront pricing information, so you know exactly what you’re paying for without any hidden costs.
Customization: Many platforms allow you to personalize your puja by selecting specific prayers, offerings, or rituals, making it a more meaningful experience.
Eco-Friendly Options: Some online puja mandir services are dedicated to using biodegradable materials and environmentally conscious practices during the rituals.
Popular Types of Puja Services Offered Online
