Saving this all for later tho, I’ve done some of these but divination is one of the most fascinating parts of witchcraft to me and I’d love to try out new types and see how they work for me

Types of Divination

🌙Aeromancy

A means of divination through the interpretation of atmospheric phenomena such as cloud formations, wind currents, rain, fog, lightning, thunder, cosmological events, and positions favorable or unfavorable to the planet.

🌙Cartomancy

A form of divination where you use cards to get the answer to your questions. There are different forms of cartomancy like playing cards, tarot, lenormand and oracle cards.

🌙Osteomancy

Or bone throwing. It's an ancient form of divination used by many cultures. This method consist of throwing the bones and then interpret the results and pattern.

🌙Pendulum

This method consist of observing the subtle movements of the pendulum to gain information about a question, object, or situation.

🌙Scrying

Scrying is divination by seeking a vision while gazing into a transparent, translucent, or reflective object and it's often done by crystal ball gazing, fire scrying, water scrying, mirror scrying, etc.

🌙Astrology

This type of divination interpret movements and relative positions of celestial bodies, and how they influence us. Astrology gives an understanding of situations in our lives, based on our individual astrological birth chart.

🌙Lithomancy

Also known as stone divination, is a form of divination that uses stones or crystals to gain insight into an individual’s future or to provide guidance on a specific issue.

🌙Necromancy

Necromancy is divination through communication with the dead. In this method the practitioner summons or communicate with spirits of the dead in order to gain wisdom.

🌙Ceromancy

The practice of reading the flames and wax of a candle. The candle is lit and the flame examined for clues to the mood and energy surrounding the situation and then the wax is allowed to drip into a bowl of cold water or sometimes onto a piece of paper. The practitioner examines the shapes formed by the melted wax and makes predictions based on his or her interpretation of the shapes.

🌙Tasseography

Is a method of divination where you read pattern and symbols from tea leaves or coffee grounds sediments.

🌙Arithmancy/Numerology

Arithmancy is known as divination using numbers, while numerology is divination through using dates and words turned to numbers. Numerology doesn't require any psychic abilities, instead the method use calculations involving name and birth date numbers.

🌙Palmistry

Palmistry is also referred to as palm reading and is divination through reading and interpreting the lines and structure of the hand. It is common to read the dominant hand as a characterization and also predicting the future.

🌙Bibliomancy

is the divination by randomly chosen passages in books, often religious books or Grimoires. This method consist of picking a random passage from a book to answer a question.

🌙Conchomancy

is a form of divination using sea shells. Placing a seashell on your ear and analyzing the sound counts as Conchomancy. You can also use seashells in Casting divination.

One thing I sometimes like to do is use my finger and draw a sigil for courage, energy, focus, etc on my hand when needing a quick boost and don’t have time to pause

From my personal experience, making your own sigils works best. There’s soooooo many different ways people do it, and I advise researching to find which method resonates with you!

And don’t worry if your sigils aren’t as fancy and artistic as the ones you see posted, mine aren’t either. It’s about what works, not what looks pretty and aesthetic (although if yours looks pretty and aesthetic, that’s super cool)

Find what works for your craft, but sigils are definitely a good, simple thing to look into and easy to incorporate into your practice. Highly recommend

Understanding the 3 Types of Sigils

Sigils are one of the most versatile tools in witchcraft, acting as symbols infused with your intention and energy. What makes sigils so effective is their adaptability, you can choose how to work with them based on your goals and needs. When deciding how to use a sigil, it’s helpful to understand the three main types: destructible, temporary, and permanent. Each type serves a unique purpose and adds a layer of magickal flexibility to your practice. 

Destructible Sigils 🕯 

Definition: These sigils are created with the intention of being destroyed, often as part of the activation process. 

Purpose: Used for immediate, transformative, or highly specific goals. The act of destruction releases the energy. 

Examples of Use:  

⟡ Burn a sigil for quick manifestation. 

⟡ Bury a sigil to symbolize letting go of something. 

How-To: Draw the sigil on paper, charge it with your intent, and destroy it by burning, tearing, or submerging it in water. 

Tip: This method is great for goals where you want to release energy into the universe quickly. 

Temporary Sigils ✿ 

Definition: These sigils exist for a short time and are erased, washed away, or allowed to fade naturally. 

Purpose: Ideal for ongoing but temporary needs, like a daily boost of confidence or protection during a specific event. 

Examples of Use:  

⟡ Draw a sigil on your skin with makeup or henna. 

⟡ Sketch a sigil in sand or dirt before a ritual. 

⟡ Write a sigil in chalk on your door for short-term protection. 

How-To: Use materials that naturally wear off (chalk, marker, or skin-safe paint). Focus on charging the sigil when you draw it. 

Tip: These sigils are perfect for quick and discreet magick, as they’re easy to create and remove. 

Permanent Sigils 𓃠 

Definition: These sigils are created with the intention of lasting indefinitely. They are charged to continuously radiate energy over time. 

Purpose: Used for long-term goals or intentions, such as protection, abundance, or anchoring a space with positive energy. 

Examples of Use:  

⟡ Draw a sigil onto a piece of jewelry or altar tool. 

⟡ Paint or carve a sigil on a doorframe for home protection. 

How-To: Choose a durable medium (wood, stone, metal) Ensure the sigil is charged and activated with care. 

Tip: Permanent sigils require deep thought and a strong intention, as their energy is meant to be constant and enduring. 

 ⛥ No matter which type of sigil you choose, remember that their power comes from the energy and intention you infuse into them. Whether you’re releasing energy through destruction, working with short-term goals, or embedding your magick into something permanent, sigils can adapt to your needs and bring your intentions to life. ⛥

- Write their name/birthday on a piece of paper.

- Smear black salt and pepper all over it.

- Fold the paper away from you three times.

- Visualize the type of karma this person will receive while folding the paper. 😈

- You can use the energy of your Saturn placement and the house it falls in (more details coming in a future post.)

- Poke a safety pin through the paper and close it shut. Essentially, binding your intention. 🧷

- Drip black candle wax over it.

- Bury the paper in your cat’s litter; if you don’t have a cat, you can bury it outside.

- Recite this mantra 3x. ⬇️

This is purely optional, but after performing the spell, you can check in with your tarot deck to see if it's working. If you draw negative cards such as Death, Five of Cups, The Tower, The Hanged Man, or Three of Swords, it may indicate that the spell is working. If you don’t pull many negative cards, consider asking about any obstacles and adjust the spell accordingly.

Yapping About a Lil Project

It’s going to be my first time doing a spell for someone else, I typically would not take baneful magic requests from people but I was joking about wanting to curse more people and one of my friends said something about me cursing his ex… and you see, this ex was an abusive creep so… what can I say? Entitled men who think they own someone else’s body are the bane of my existence

Anyway, my goal is to just return the pain he caused to him and keep him from finding love since he just hurts those he falls for (and he has shown no sign of changing according to everyone I have ever talked to that knows him over the years and has tried to convince this friend to date him again, I’ve seen screenshots, he’s still as gross and sex-obsessed as ever and my friend is an asexual).

I’ve already been working on the verbal part, gotta look through my witchy thingies and see what I got that may help send it along and also see what protective stuff I’m going to use since that’s always super important in witchcraft, especially baneful magic. Probably will use my obsidian bracelet (probably should charge it while I’m thinking about it) and a protection sigil… I’m taking my time to figure out exactly what I’m doing, imo it’s always important in witchcraft not to jump too fast into things, you gotta be doing your research to be certain about what you’re doing (and also my amazing wife won’t let me do much without doing my homework and having a plan in place because we take turns being each other’s common sense TvT)

When it comes to Pop Culture Entity / Deity work in general, I am expecting you to treat them as any other deity or entity in the practice: with respect. You cannot manifest them to fall in love with you. You cannot be godspoused to them after having known them for a week when there's little to no bond. They are entities that identify themselves as a popular character from a modern entertainment show / game / etc. They are their own entity and deity. Do not treat them as some fanfic / one - shot opportunity to be in love with them and make your sexual fantasies come to life. They have their own consciousness, their own likes and dislikes, personalities, etc. If I see this in any way, you will be BLOCKED.

Remade my offering candles to Isis.

Each of her candles now bears the ankh, handpainted in delicate, non-toxic gold. The ankh is the key to life itself. There are many depictions of Isis holding the key in her hand, symbolizing her significance as a deity of life. She has the ability to raise the dead, as she did with her husband Osiris. Beneath the key, a golden moon rests in silent reverence, alongside a single eye—an emblem of Isis’ ancient wisdom, her connection to the shifting lunar cycles, and her mastery over the mysteries of the universe.
