Eclair: ... I remember being in the desert, looking for Aoife. I lost a couple hours, and then... I got hurt. I can’t remember much else. My head starts pounding when I try to think harder, I’m sorry I can’t remember more.

There is a strong echo, these words are clearer than the rest, but still distorted. This voice is… Linda. She helped you with Masque. She fought hard for your safety, for your benefit, for your well-being. Despite not knowing you, she spoke with you, she  risked her life for a cause simply because you needed her help.

[Do not give in, child. Your fear only makes it stronger. There are so many counting on you to pull through, but accepting this beast’s offer is not the right way to do this. This voice is…. Hauntingly nostalgic. It’s familiar, yet… You don’t know this person speaking. It is much clearer than all the others, there is no distortion, there is no echo or unnatural ebb to the flow of the words. It feels like a direct broadcast into your mind. As outlandish as it sounds, you feel the voice emanating from within your soul. You feel power coursing through your veins. You truly feel like yourself once again.

Even with this power, you got destroyed, child. I mean, think about that. Think of how much stronger you feel, more capable you are with it. And yet you still got skewered. You had every advantage and got wasted. You couldn't possibly give this up now. You'll leave the others with so much more of the burden, so much more to deal with on their own. You'd let them all down if you are weak. Perhaps even get them killed. You need every advantage you can get, Eclair. This is every advantage.

Aofie's sisters became Risen, didn't they? How long do they stay like that before.... dying again?? What are they like? Is there any chance they can be helped?

Eclair: … Risen are dead bodies brought back to life with magic. They don’t really follow orders of Witches, because they’re so preoccupied with preventing their bodies from rotting any further. What they do is consume live flesh to prevent any more decay, and if they can’t eat they wither away and die again. Aoife and her sisters were out there for several weeks, so it’s possible they only suffered for a few days…

Aoibheann: … Yeah. They didn’t turn for a while.

Eclair: It’s against Universal Law to bring back someone from death, no matter the circumstances. Even if there was enough of their bodies left to bring them back to life again, we would be punished.

Eclair: You’re one to talk, lizard. I get that you’re not unfamiliar with blending in, but that’s just offensive.

I suppose I would be back home where my mother had originally planned. I was going to be married off to a general, you see, as I come from a very prevalent line of Weavile who were practically bred to cause bloodshed–the only reason I’m not currently married to him is because I came out “wrong.” Perhaps I could go home and kill my mother, now that I’ve learned a thing or two about working with what she gave me…

Eclair: You know, I honestly don’t know why! I feel so powerful when Dark energy courses through my veins like this…! Perhaps mother was right… I used to think my home village was barbaric and disgusting, but perhaps I should reconsider. Eclair thought she saw a moment of clarity–or should I say Eclairity, heh!–when she first was discovered by that big lug. “Oh me, oh my! I don’t have to be… This! I don’t have to be bloodthirsty! I don’t have to kill things!”

She was right. She doesn’t have to kill things. She just loves killing things. Maybe if she distances herself from me and these other primal urges she has brimming inside of her, it will clear her conscience. What a shame. I’m awfully fun to be around, you know?

Nalusa@Eclair: My, this only seems to get more nuanced and grey with every step on this trail. With you two, it seems as if nothing can just be simple. So then, what is it that haunts him about this first hunt. Did it not go as planned? Did things not go as expected? Was what you hunted not what you expected?

Eclair: Gunny isn’t around to get upset at me for telling, so maybe just this one time. Don’t let him know I told you, okay? This stays between the two of us! I’d feel really bad if he knew I was blabbing about his personal life… His first hunt was really scary for him, because it was someone he knew and trusted. I don’t know the full amount of details, but I still remember how shaky his eyes got every time he tried to tell me about it…

When he and Henrietta first got married, they had a lot of trouble having a baby. I guess, Gunny was working a farm tilling fields all day to raise money to get this new-age treatment to help them have a kid, and Henrietta would always sit on their porch on top of the hill and watch him work. She couldn’t do much besides try to sell the crops he grew.

One of her friends was a Witch, but it was before they knew what Witches were. They had no reason so suspect that the woman was evil. The Witch brought her food every day, claiming it would make her stronger for the baby. Henrietta was willing to try anything at that point, so she jumped at the chance to eat these things every day, and eventually she and Gunny were pregnant without the treatment! But… She got, like… Really pregnant. So pregnant that she couldn’t lay a proper Pokemon egg.

When they finally got the egg come out and hatch, whatever came out… He didn’t describe it at all, but from the face he made first telling me about his child… Whatever came out wasn’t of this realm. Henrietta even said she tried to pretend it was normal, but deep down inside she felt like crying every time she looked at it.

That same day, a Hunter passed through their town, and he heard along the winds that the Hunter was a healer, and he wanted to know if their baby could be fixed. After hearing the circumstances of how the child was born, he made Gunny a promise. If he could lure the Witch out, the healer would have her break the curse on his baby, as this wasn’t anything a simple healing arte could fix. They met at a pub late in the night and… Things… Things didn’t go as planned. Things got violent, and Gunny, he…

He said he killed her. He said it was as easy as crushing an egg in your fist, or like snapping a twig in half. He asked Lucius if the curse was broken from her passing, but… Lucius confirmed, the baby was still cursed, and soon enough it passed.

He wants to prevent other Witches from hurting families like his own. He doesn’t want anyone else to suffer from losing a child, or having one cursed to be a monster.
