This video was life changing for me.
I'd been contemplating getting a recumbent ebike because of long covid (recumbent for POTS, ebike for exercise intolerance) and kept getting hit with sticker shock. The cheapest used recumbent I could find (500$) + DIY ebike conversion (1000$) was still looking expensive (1500$).
What the video made me realize was I was thinking about the cost wrong. The comparison point is not a cheap urban bike, the comparison point is a car. The ebike is my primary vehicle, my primary form of transportation. And it's way way cheaper than a car!
I've had my recumbent ebike for a couple of months now and it's been absolutely liberating being able to go whenever I need to go, on my own. It gives me independence and mobility during a time when I'm still really debilitated by long covid, and it's hard to understate just how major a quality of life improvement it's been.
What the video misses is the need for financial options for buying adapted & cargo bikes. If you're strapped for cash but have good enough credit there are plenty of financing options for buying a car, because our society is built around cars. 👀
But right now in North America, adapted bikes are only available to those of us who are lucky enough to cobble together the upfront cost. This is a mobility justice issue and I'd love to see more banks & credit unions start offering loans specifically for car-replacement bikes.

10 and 24?
10: About someone I think is funny: random tumblr users and kids lmao 😭 and me..
further out of my sphere i love Kennie JDs personality so much. fellow black woman rawdogging ADD
she has a YouTube channel and has a “Bad movies and a beat” playlist where she talks about bad movies while putting her makeup on. she's so gorgeous and her looks come out beautiful and her personality is a huge part of the draw 😹 she's sorta got a series within that series too called “Good movies and a glam” which is the same thing p much but she talks about movies she enjoyed.
we don't fully overlap in our interests but she talks about horror movies sometimes and i love listening to her talk and watching her reaction to things. there are definitely some videos that have me stopping like 5-10 minutes in like wait let me go watch the movie first bc this sounds like it's gonna be an Experience. i think it's very validating and fun to see how she feels about things I've seen, and even if it's stuff I'm not interested in i still think it's fun to see her do her thing :3
sometimes she does a good analysis, sometimes it's more of a summary w some thoughts and reactions here and there, and for some she's just does a straight reaction to it bc she doesn't think there's really anything to talk about. the worse the movie is the funnier she is 💀 but she's just funny period. Atlanta queen 🫶🏾
comedy is a hard one for me.. there's a lot of jokes and comedians that don't really land for me but i think it's bc I've always been surrounded by ppl i think are funnier or more outta pocket offline and online.. something something ppl who try to be funny vs ppl who just are.
24. An unusual talent I have: o: i don't know.. electrical engineering i suppose? as an end to end process w schematic design, 3d modelling and printing, soldering n circuitry etc. i think it's very rewarding to have a bespoke thing that's the only one of its kind.. technology that does exactly what u want it to do nothing more nothing less no unwanted upgrades/planned obsolescence/privacy policies/cloud bs etc. u can make technology do plenty off of ur home network alone, if u want it to be controllable/accessible from a network at all. i only call this strange in the sense that it's not common.. but in another perspective i think I'm v good at tinkering with stuff in general!! I've built and taken apart enough things in life that a lot of stuff feels very intuitive atp, more so for furniture or something more.. mechanical, than electronics but I'm good at tinkering w that too :3
not good enough to be able to tell which specific part of a complicated circuit board stopped working (unless there's obv physical damage or a disconnected cable), but i can put stuff together from scratch or bypass certain things for more desired behavior. like i built an ebike once but instead of using its pedal assistance i bypassed it and just made it full throttle. it did like 32mph lol 😭 i made that when covid first hit and i didn't want to bus anymore but i usually otherwise make stuff for taking care of my indoor gardens, when i have them (i do not rn). a simple and handy one to do is replacing a battery source with an AC adapter so u can get full power and the thing will never die on u. or at least when it does it's in the way that all electronics will eventually stop working after enough use, but nothing's died on me yet :3
also making web tools for data analysis! (or just something u can use in the browser basically but it's on ur computer not The Internet™). i don't have the time to educate myself in other fields fully but i do like looking at the data they produce and learning more about things that way!! my favorite visualizations to make are maps but I'll make utilities that i can use to strategize for my games sometimes too.
oh and i also like modding games :3 i have made my own mods for 13 games so far. playing the game is already nice but to me it's about really fine tuning the experience to be how i want it to be and making it my own. sometimes I'll start modding before even starting the game 💀 like hmm let me take a peek at what y'all got going on here, then being like eh that sounds annoying I'll just do this instead. my favorite game to mod is elden ring, their spell system has a LOT of different pieces and phases and effects of spells that u can mix and match and chain together to make ur own spells. in this way getting a new game can be like getting a new project at times, and when i don't wanna do that i just use WeMod and call it a day :3

tbh it varies based on the city where I live all the couriers bike and most ppl ik who bike to work are working class and it’s a status symbol to drive. there is an issue rn in urban development advocacy where pro bike nonprofits don’t want to represent delivery cyclists and related workers as the face of cycling bc they’re working class and nonwhite and think that means politicians are less likely to adapt bike friends policies and pass bike friendly legislation. this also results in less efforts to develop biking infrastructure and teach safer street biking in poorer communities of color.
obvie rich tech bros bike as well but erasure and under-serving of non white working class folks is something being discussed rn in this space!
I didn't know this! I have a superficial understanding of it, especially as someone who has been looking at bikes for a while but can't really afford one. I also live in a place with a lot of wealthy people with their ebikes and bike shorts and fancy accessories, so that's what I tend to see.

Lateral thinking. Over thinking. A mysterious medical misery (try saying that after a few pints...).
Tumblr media
Random photo just because. Pentax MV / Ilford HP5
The other day I went out on the ebike for 21.42 minutes. I also cleaned out the chickens (5 minutes) and drove to the supermarket for a bottle of don’t-judge-me single malt whiskey (15 minutes).
The following day I was so incredibly tired and so incredibly sore I couldn’t even face reading, as the pain in my arms was too great to even hold the sodding book. I dictated this is into my phone, to tidy up at a later date on the laptop.
I don’t know what is going wrong within me. I’ve been tested for pretty much every muscle disease and autoimmune condition under the sun, bar rarer types of muscular dystrophy and motor neurons. At 3am of course it is MND, brains are not renowned for being overly positive in the wee hours.
Better days - lateral thinking
So on days when I can face the bike, or a coffee date, or a short trip out I am a positive, alternative thinking version of the broken me. Can’t walk far? Use the scooter. Sun shining on the hills? Drive out to a view point and take the camera. I can almost accept what is happening by making different choices. Adapt to perform, don’t let the b*****d get you down and all that far-too-overly-positive ‘warrior’ stuff.
Facebook memories reminding me that I’ve achieved and done some pretty darn cool things. Go me.
Bad days - over thinking
Then there are the murky days, currently outnumbering the blue sky days by about 5:1.
Can’t walk far? Hate who I am, feel utterly pointless, Google shop power-chairs. Sun shining on the hills? Throw massive self pity party and irrationally start resenting my friends (obviously very lovely and totally justified!) Facebook photos of fell walks and days out. Not a ‘warrior’ in any sense of the word; disgustingly self obsessed, hiding away, too embarrassed to be seen as someone I don’t recognise or accept.
Facebook memories reminding me that even a year ago I could do so much more. I miss sailing SO much.
People say - with only the very best of intentions - things along the lines ‘at least it’s not *insert well known chronic condition here*’. As if by remaining nameless It is a manageable, harmless condition. I suppose it does make the conversation a bit easier, and I’m absolutely not going to shoot anyone down for trying to make me feel better.
I know It isn’t harmless and I can’t seem to manageIt. I’m swinging on an exhausting pendulum between trying to ignore it because it feels too messed up to be true, and forcing myself to use the words ‘I need help’. Help with the kids, help with the housework, help with the boredom. It is relentlessly progressive and is speeding up. This year is the toughest yet. I have been saying that every year since 2018, but with each increase of toughness comes a whole new level of acceptance to somehow get under control.
I admit I don’t know where I’m going with this, I think I just needed to get something out there. Will attempt greater positivity, a half decent structure and definitely more photography next time!
Until then, thank you for sharing this with me, and peace out. ✌️

5 Key Benefits of Owning a Fat Tire Folding eBike
Tumblr media
As urban living evolves, so does the need for efficient, versatile, and eco-friendly transportation. Among the myriad of options, the fat tire folding eBike stands out. Combining the robust features of fat tires with the convenience of a folding frame and the power of electric assistance, this eBike variant is gaining traction. Here are five key benefits of owning a fat tire folding eBike.
1. Unmatched Versatility
One of the standout features of a fat tire folding eBike is its adaptability to various terrains. Fat tires, typically 3.8 inches or wider, offer superior traction and stability. Whether you’re navigating through sandy beaches, snowy paths, muddy trails, or urban roads, these tires provide a smooth ride. The folding mechanism adds another layer of versatility, allowing you to easily store the bike in compact spaces like apartments, car trunks, or even under your office desk.
2. Enhanced Comfort and Stability
Fat tire eBikes are renowned for their ability to absorb shocks and vibrations from rough surfaces, providing a more comfortable ride. The wide tires distribute your weight more evenly, reducing the impact on your back and joints. This stability is especially beneficial for beginners or riders who may be less confident on traditional bicycles. Coupled with electric assistance, climbing hills or riding against the wind becomes a breeze, making your journey more enjoyable.
3. Eco-Friendly and Cost-Effective Transportation
Switching to a fat tire folding eBike is a step towards reducing your carbon footprint. Unlike cars, eBikes produce zero emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment. Additionally, the cost of maintaining an eBike is significantly lower than that of a car. You’ll save on fuel, parking fees, and maintenance costs. For daily commutes, an eBike can be a highly cost-effective alternative to traditional vehicles.
4. Health and Fitness Benefits
Despite the electric assistance, riding a fat tire folding eBike still requires pedaling, which means you’re engaging in physical activity. This low-impact exercise is excellent for cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and overall fitness. The added bonus is that you can choose the level of assistance, allowing you to challenge yourself when you want a more intense workout or take it easy when you’re feeling tired.
5. Convenience and Portability
The folding feature of these eBikes is a game-changer for urban dwellers and travelers. You can quickly fold your bike to take it on public transportation, carry it up stairs, or store it without needing a lot of space. This convenience means you can easily combine cycling with other forms of transportation, making it ideal for multi-modal commutes. Plus, the ability to fold and store the bike securely reduces the risk of theft.
Conclusion
Owning a fat tire folding eBike offers numerous benefits, from versatility and comfort to environmental impact and health advantages. It’s a smart investment for anyone looking to enhance their mobility while embracing a greener lifestyle. Whether you’re navigating city streets, exploring off-road trails, or simply enjoying a leisurely ride, a fat tire folding eBike is a reliable and efficient companion.

Along with these things we have a couple other things going on they are taking liberties in exposing our sun to stuff and they want to do that in the cities I think they get stuff we don't want him going to these crappy cities. They're full of contamination and s*** and radiation. Seven hard time here and there we disgusting.
-there's a few more projects to announce we're going to get to it real quick
##a subset of kit cars are kit motorcycles and there's oodles of them tons of ideas a famous e-bikes will be converted to scooters will they be electric scooters it's not hard you have to change it to a mid drive and you use the gears the bike has is not right time you change to a mid drive and use two different sprockets thinking about 50 miles an hour out of slower ones 750 watts go about 80 that's plenty and it half speed you burn the battery up normally that sun will get 20 miles and she was thinking of doing it so the big one if he I think she might want to try it but you have to do it other modifications to the brakes and lights and things like that it's not a lot of stuff but it can be turned into a moped too and we're going to come out with kids for the most highly used and they'll adapt them to other bikes. This is a very famous idea to make electric mopeds and scooters out of the ebikes humongously famous and of course convert those dirt bikes into Enduro or street bikes they already do that they're very fast they change the sprockets and tires and rims about 120 for about 50 miles if you go 60 MPH it goes 150 miles. Really really powerful and their son knows they are and have gears it's an awesome awesome bike there's also converting regular motorcycles to electric it's going to be a ton of that and we're going to trace it and also there are conversions of e-bikes to motorcycles believe it or not you can do it the frame is a very simple thing to overcome you install a bracket and the bolts up and that's it couple things and it's ready to go they have new e-bikes that look like motorcycles and the motor fits in there nicely these conversions don't cost that much and our son has been pricing them in there very cheap. The one that looks like the motorcycle it has suspension you put a thousand watt motor inn and it doesn't have gears now it it would have gears in and you'd have to have a new motor I guess or who said I think you can attach it to a gearbox some of the motors and that's true the hub motors can be attached and they have them and new tires new rims and they get about 140 mph but at 60 MPH you'll go about 220 miles on a single charge you have to get a new battery SB solid has to have an enclosure the new battery at 1,000 Watts which is about a solid possible $700 but you've got a motorcycle for less than 5 grand and it's electric and you don't spend money on gas and it's quiet.
There's a lot more conversions but he thinks we should print and running out of room
Thor Freya
Olympus we're hiring now for all facets of this and a lot of these bikes are designed to hold 350 lb which is a lot of weight for a lot of people

I love my adapted bike
So I'm somebody who likes biking and being active. Then I got covid and never recovered. It's been a year now with long covid, and unable to bike (or drive) anywhere. It's been rough.
A few months ago I bit the bullet and bought a new bike. A recumbent ebike. Recumbent because of the POTS (being vertical is very hard on my body) and ebike because any exercise that gets my heart really pumping causes my entire body to shut down.
And it's been amazing. I can get places on my own again. I can bike to parts of the city that are past the nearby hill again, because now when I get to the hill I can turn on the pedal assist. I cried tears of joy the first time I went on an errand past the hill. I get exercise but importantly it's mild enough exercise that I don't crash my whole body. Careful pacing of activity is so important with long covid. Earlier in my recovery I'd tried to exercise but couldn't find a way to do it without just fucking up my heart problems even more.
The mild exercise of the recumbent ebike hasn't seemed to do anything (good or bad) for my physical long covid symptoms but it has been amazing for my mood. Being cooped up indoors all the time has been melting my brain.
Getting mobility again is so freeing. The ability to just go somewhere on your own is something you don't truly appreciate until you don't have it again.
The biggest thing that nearly stopped me from getting this bike was price. Adapted bikes are so expensive compared to regular bikes. What finally convinced me was Not Just Bikes' video on cargo bikes where he explained how an expensive bike like a bakfiets is still WAY CHEAPER than a car. Once I realized I was buying a car-replacement rather than a bike,

Updated my resume the other day; ive always wanted to work at value village and now i live near one (i only consider jobs based on what i can feasibly walk to; i find the expense and moral depravity of car ownership untenable and im tired of long transit commutes and/or biking in the rain, i did that shit a LOT in my 20s)
When i lived on a small island with somewhat limited grocery options i would wait for a clear day and take my ebike and trailer on the ferry and go into bigbox land and get restocked
Langley is like, SO urban
I havent lived this close to a 711 since leaving Toronto
Tbf to "cars", having now tooled around a bunch in my gfs moms electric car, i have to admit that for me, theyre worth it. I LOVE going to charging stations. I want to buy her moms car off her, she finds it too inconvenient and has no ethical issue with going back to gas
Which is weird because shes a strict vegetarian; like...the precious animals need an environment to live in that isnt full of toxic fumes lady, you dont make sense
(her condoboard punishes her transgression of not being an ecocidal enough boomer by not letting her charge her car at home on penalty of eviction, so...her options are sharply limited; if i had that car i could at least run an extension cord out of my rental and do the lowcharge adapter thing, but even if i couldnt, i wouldnt find using public ones that inconvenient, i wouldnt even find only using the free ones that inconvenient...my gf gets impatient thinking about it because i guess shes comparing it to going to a gas station, but she still manages to have fun no problem while we're actually there waiting). Some people say, i could be spending that time at home. Home is an illusion, its wherever you happen to be. Especially if youre a netizen and can get signal

Why You Should Buy the Bogist Mini V2 Electric Bike 🚴‍♂️⚡
The Bogist Mini V2 electric bike has been a game-changer for me, offering a perfect blend of performance, convenience, and versatility.Hello everyone, I'm aovo's product experience officer, aovoebikeman. I've personally experienced the Bogist Mini V2 for several months now. If you're on the fence about getting an electric bike, let me share why the Bogist Mini V2 should be your top choice, based on my own experiences with it.
One of the first things I noticed about the Bogist Mini V2 is how smooth and speedy it is. The 350W motor provides a seamless ride, reaching speeds up to 15.5 mph. This has made my daily commutes a breeze, allowing me to zip through city traffic with ease. Whether I’m heading to work or running errands, the bike handles everything effortlessly. The speed boost is especially handy when I need to make it to a meeting on time or catch a green light.
Living in a small apartment, storage space is always a concern. The foldable design of the Bogist Mini V2 has been a lifesaver. It easily fits in my closet, and when I want to take it on a road trip, it folds up compactly to fit in the trunk of my car. Recently, I took it on a weekend getaway, and it was fantastic to have a bike ready to go without needing a bike rack. The portability also means I can take it into my office and store it under my desk, which gives me peace of mind.
The bike’s 36V 7.5Ah removable battery is another feature I love. After a full day of riding, I simply bring the battery inside to charge overnight. It’s convenient and ensures that the bike is always ready for the next adventure. One weekend, I rode all around town visiting friends, running errands, and just enjoying the day. The battery held up perfectly, with power to spare, which was impressive.
Handling the bike is a breeze because it’s so lightweight. Initially, I worried it might be cumbersome, but it’s surprisingly easy to carry up and down stairs. Even when I’m not using the motor, it’s a joy to pedal around. I recall a time when the elevator in my building was out, and I had to carry the bike up several flights of stairs. Thankfully, its light weight made this easy and manageable.
The versatility of the Bogist Mini V2 is unmatched. Whether I’m commuting to work, enjoying a leisurely ride in the park on weekends, or getting a bit of exercise, it adapts to all my needs. I even joined a local cycling group for a weekend ride, and the bike kept pace effortlessly, impressing everyone with its performance.
Initially, I had some doubts about whether the bike would be powerful enough. However, the 350W motor exceeded my expectations, especially on steep hills that I encounter on my regular routes. The bike’s build quality is solid, handling various weather conditions without any issues. Even after months of daily use, it still feels as sturdy as the day I got it.
Battery life was another concern, but the Bogist Mini V2 excels here too. I can ride for hours without worrying about running out of power. The removable battery design is incredibly convenient, allowing me to charge it at home, at work, or anywhere I need to. There was one occasion when I forgot to charge it overnight, but I managed to quickly top it up at the office, which kept me going for the rest of the day.
In conclusion, the Bogist Mini V2 is a fantastic, foldable, and powerful e-bike that’s perfect for commuting, leisure, or exercise. It has transformed my daily commute and added a lot of fun to my weekends. Whether you need a reliable way to get to work or a fun way to explore your city, this bike has you covered. It's a smart investment that enhances your riding experience in every way. 【Now available at aovostore.com – grab yours today and save 10 EUR with Code: ST10!】
