“You could just come with me. I heard Fontaine’s a nice couple spot, the city of love some call it.” The ginger winked at her and grinned as best as he could with the cut on his lip. “I’m not going to pass on an opportunity to whisk you away and have you allll to myself, you know.”

“Have you already forgotten that you’re supposed to be working while you’re there? I don’t feel like getting involved in any Fatui business.” A few beats of silence. “But perhaps I could drop by for a little while… So don’t go off doing anything stupid, I don’t feel like bailing you out of jail.”

“Yes, ma’am!” He saluted with a boyish grin lighting up his face. Then, the couple fell into silence again. Studying his wife for a while, he finally prodded. “What’s on your mind? And don’t say nothing, I know you better than that, you have that pensive look on your face.”

“It’s just, that kid…” The witch sighed. “I hope they can find their own happiness some day… You know, Mondstadt is pretty scenic around the Weinlese Festival and perhaps a little bit of freedom could help guide them…”

“I thought you said you wouldn’t adopt them,” Childe chuckled, not surprised at all by this side of her.

“I’m not adopting them!” Holly shook her head. “I think being concerned is natural considering the circumstances. You should know best.”

“I know, I know,” he said soothingly, circling an arm around the blonde’s waist and pressing a sweet kiss against her temple. “It’ll be alright, I promise.”

“If you say so, then I’ll trust you on this.”

“Hmm, I’m so lucky to have such a kind and caring wife,” Childe hummed, his ocean blue eyes sparkling with mischief. “Maybe we should try for a family after all before I leave~”
