LAMUT, Ifugao, Mar. 15(PIA) - - The implementation of the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) has boosted the collection of Fire Code Fee of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the province.  

The Municipal Fire Station and Local Government Unit of Lagawe established  a Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) outside the municipal building to cater the needs of the business sector. (Lagawe MFS)

BFP-Ifugao Provincial Fire Marshal Superintendent Allan Ebalar disclosed that through the BOSS, the  different municipal fire stations were able to collect about Php2.8 million for the months of January and February 2020.   “The said amount is far-higher compared to the whole year of 2019 with Php973,474.50 only. We gained this success in partnership with the local government units and through the cooperation of the business sector and other stakeholders,” he a said.   BOSS  is part of the government’s initiative to streamline the processing of business permits and licenses and  to    ease  doing business. It is usually conducted during the whole month of January.   The Department of Trade and Industry is the lead agency  tasked in implementing and monitoring   Republic Act No. 11032, also known as  Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Delivery of Government Service Act. This law aims to speed up the delivery of government services by simplifying the issuance of business permits and licenses and fire inspection and other related transactions. LAMUT, Ifugao, Mar. 6(PIA) - - The observance of Fire Prevention Month in the province opened with a fire olympics.

Members of the Kiangan Community Fire Auxiliry Group (CFAG) perform the bucket relay during the Provincial Fire Olympics at Nayon, Lamut, Ifugao. (MBL, PIA CAR, Ifugao)

Spearheaded by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the activity was participated by the Community Fire Auxiliary Groups (CFAGS) of Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Kiangan, Lagawe, Lamut and Mayoyao accompanied by personnel of their respective municipal  fire stations

The knowledge and skills of CFAGs were tested in the different competitions like hose laying and replacement of busted hose, bucket relay and flammable liquid fire extinguishment.

Lamut CFAG was declared as the over-all champion with Asipulo and Kiangan as first and second runner-ups. Lamut bagged the championship trophy on hose laying and replacement of busted hose and flammable liquid fire extinguishment, and will represent Ifugao in the upcoming regional fire Olympics.

Superintendent Allan Ebalar, Provincial Fire Marshall, explained that event supports the advocacy of the government towards a progressive community through fire safety awareness campaign and active involvement with the cooperation of the public.

The different municipal fire stations are conducting various activities like information drive to raise awareness on fire safety and prevention.

This year’s observance theme is "Matuto ka. Sunog Iwasan mo". (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)

The Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG) of Lamut is declared as the over-all champion of the 2020 Provincial Fire Olympics held at the Ifugao State University Main campus, and will represent the province  in the  regional fire olympics. (MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
