Amsterdam - Eating Out and About
Recently, I went on a city break to Amsterdam and one of the things that was on my mind was “How Am I going to Eat?”.  It is a usual saying for people with Wheat / Gluten when going to new places and not knowing what is on offer.
My first look into gluten free food in Amsterdam was this blog: The Happy Coeliac.  There are a lot of useful information and places to eat along with the locations but one of the great links that the blog provided was the Coeliac resturant card.  This was handy to take out and about with you just incase some places didnt know however, from my experience, everyone spoke english and knew of gluten free which was a bonus.
We stayed in a Hotel NH Schiller just on rembrandtplein where we discover, to what I can only describe, a Hipster Co-Op.  It was called Marqt Utrechtsestraat and had a fantastic gluten free section which had some stroopwafel which i was very please about :).
I was being very strict as to what I could and Couldn’t eat as I didn’t want to be in a situation that I was rendered useless as I had been stricken with Gluten so everywhere where we went, I asked (or mainly my Girl Friend asked) if food was gluten free.
Convenient food such as the easy pick up and eat sandwiches was poor though that is the same over here so I didn’t expect too much from snacking however, we did find a Gluten Free chip show called Chipsy King as all of the chips were cooked separately from everything else.  They were also very good too!
Other Places I would recommend:
Wagamama
Memories of India
La Parrillada
Rancho Rembrandtplein
Snickers were also a live saver during the day when you need that quick lunch as there are Gluten Free

Feature Friday- Vegan Pittsburgh, Roundup
Feature Friday- Vegan Pittsburg, Roundup
I love finding new vegan eats when on the road and my most recent visit to Pittsburgh has proven this to be true. I have been really impressed with the vegan places I found this trip and not to mention the gluten free options. Here is my round up of a few favs: Randita’s Organic Vegan Cafe After a quick Google search, Randita’s Cafe popped up, when I saw an all vegan cafe I was super excited.…

Feature Friday- Spring Natural Kitchen
Picking a restaurant for a group of friends with varied food preferences can be tricky to find somewhere that suits everyone.  As the one with the most restrictions when eating out I always feel slightly awkward or embarrassed having to ask a zillion questions and fear coming off picky or difficult when the reality is I love food. I choose to eat the way I do for many reasons and none of which…

Feature Friday- Suncafe- Los Angeles
Tumblr media
It was almost a month ago now that I was in LA, but I wanted to share one of my favorite meals.  As a New Yorker, I am always amazed at the restaurants in LA that are just off a main road or highway. Unlike in NY, in LA you seek out the eateries, you find them and they don’t find you. Los Angeles definitely has a different restaurant feeling than New York, but a vibe I am happy to explore. Enter,

Feature Friday= Champs, Brooklyn
Feature Friday= Champs, Brooklyn
I didn’t know what to expect at Champs, in Brooklyn, but knew it was a must try. I have heard some buzz around it and wanted to try it out for myself. With a storm brewing over NYC this afternoon, I made a detour on my way home. Locals dotted the perimeter, sipping coffee and milkshakes and chatting to each other as I approached.  The once dreary mood outside floated away as I walked through the…
