The Eaten twins

Dear diary,

We have been blessed with another two boys! I'm now a mom of four boys! I feel so blessed altough I would have loved to have a girl. Our boys are Simon Paul Eaten and Samuel George Eaten. Simon means 'listening' and Samuel means 'God has heard'. Two meanings who go well with eachother, just like twins.

It's not easy being a mom of four childeren under three years old. It's hard I can tell you. But I love all my boys and will give them everything they need.

My grandparents

Dear diary,

My grandparents of my mothers side of the family are 55 years married. That's so long. I would love to be married to Samson for that long but we are still only a year and a half married. We have been blessed with two little ones in those years, so thankful.

My grandparents have 7 childeren.

My aunt Abby has 9 childeren and 17 grandchilderen.

My uncle Beau has 9 childeren too. But he has 'only' 13 grandchilderen.

My aunt Christine has 10 childeren and 6 grandchilderen.

My mother has 19 childeren and 15 grandchilderen. Two are mine :).

My aunt Fiona has 7 childeren and doesn't have grandchilderen yet.

My uncle Gabriel has 13 childeren and doesn't have grandchilderen either.

My youngest aunt, Hosanna, has 2 childeren and doesn't have grandchilderen yet.

That means my grandparents have 69 grandchilderen and 51 greatgrandchilderen. That's so much! We are always with so many people at family gatherings and there is always missing someone. Their marriage has been such a blessing and example to all of us.

Sean and Samantha 4th birthday

Dear diary,

My two youngest are four years old! So sweet that they already this big! Time has flown by this last years.

Samantha really is a bit on herself. But that's no wonder with only brothers. Sean is very smart. He is always curious about everything. He is always asking me so many questions.

Sean still sleeps in the same room with Seth and Solomon. They did great the last years so we will try this.

Samantha sleeps with me in the masterbed. I love sleeping with my baby girl. Some nights have been so lonely after the death of Samson.

I also made from his study another two bathrooms because with so many little childeren two wasn't enough. There was always a line. The desk from the study is in the masterbedroom now together with Samsons basebal bat.

My mother came by for a surprise visit. Sometimes it hurts. I need her so much. I have needed her so much the last years. With my own heartache but also with the care of the childeren. But I always have to share her with my million siblings. Having lot's of siblings is fun but sometimes also not so fun.

Mom couldn't stay long but it was nice to see her again. If only she could stop talking about finding me a man.

Solomon's new place

In all the hussle of Samantha getting engaged Solomon has some news too. He found a house. A simple one just for him. Susanna is worried about him living there without a wife but she finds peace in the fact that his sister Samantha will be close by. He must go over there a lot so he won't starve.

Solomon himself is very eager to get into his new place and starting his church that he dreamed about for so long. It is finaly coming together. He doesn't worry about starving or cleaning the house once he has moved. He has bigger things on his mind.

Solomon's house isn't big. Just a kitchen, diningtable, two couches, two bedrooms (one made into a study) and a bathroom. He doesn't need more.

The double bed is promising to Susanna but Solomon doesn't think about getting married right now. He is only 20 and has a lot of dreams before he settles down.

Samantha courting

Dear diary,

After much though, very much though, I gave Kylian promising to ask Samantha to court. She is still young, only 17 years old. But she has been very grown up. I myself was 18 years old when I started courting but my mom was also 17 years old. She and my father have an excellent marriage that after more then 47 years is still alive and healthy. So for me it was okay for them to get courting.

Samantha said yes and I'm very happy to see these two to get to know eachother even better. I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two.

Dear diary,

I'm courting Kylian! I was very surprised when he asked me to court. I have known him for years. We were only 12 and 10 years old when we met because of Solomon's and Kylian's friendship. But when such a sweet, meaningful man asks you to court him, how can you say no?

Like I said we, Kylian is very sweet, and we can talk so good together. We have a lot in comment so I want to get to know Kylian better and see if he might be the man for me to marry.

Simon&Samuel 18th birthday

Dear diary,

First sad news. My son Solomon has been laid off his intern job. I felt so sorry for him. He had been working hard. But he had some opinions that didn't match with the opinions of the school he was working at. For weeks, months he had been doing nothing. He just was home every day. Kylian came to visit him reguarly. Finaly I had to tell him that he really had to find a job. He did. He works as a journalist at a local paper for now. I hope this works for him.

My first set of twins are 18 years old! I now have more childeren 18 and above then below.

Samuel works at an bank, Simon is the animal lover that works at a local farm and ofcourse at our farm. So thankful for all my boys having jobs.

Kylian was also there. It feels like he is part of our family. But he wanted some time to talk to me alone. He tolded me that he is interessed in Samantha. They have been talking so much and he really feels like he should get to know her even better. Long story short, he wants to court her. I was a bit in shock with this question. I know they talked but never guessed he was interessed in her that way. But I should have known. She is a very beautiful woman, no wonder she got his eye. I told Kylian I wanted to think about it before I gave him my answer.

My brothers Simon and Samuel are 18 years old. Only Sean and I are teenagers and going to school. On their birthday I talked the whole time with Esmee. She is expecting twins! I'm becoming an aunt soon. So cute to have little baby's in the family. Since me and Sean are the baby's of our family so I never have been trew this. Ofcourse I have seen a lot of baby's at church, and took care of them but now they will be my family. It has made me think about me becoming a mom. I can't wait till that day!

My 40th birthday

Dear diary,

I'm 40th years old. It feels weird to get to this age. I still think about myself being young but with a married son I have to agree I'm getting older.

I was very blessed to have my family with me celebrating my birthday. Seth came by also. He left his wife Esmee at home. But this had a very happy reason, she felt sick because she is expecting! I'm becoming a grandmother! Now I really feel old.

My brother got laid off his intern job at a school. He was very sad but didn't want to tell my mother on her birthday. Seth and Solomon's friend Kylian talked to him, cheered him up and told him that he had to tell out mom soon.

Kylian told me about Solomon's job so I could make sure that he would tell my mom. Kylian is so sweet to me. He really treats me as an adult.

Seth's weddingday

Dear diary,

My firstborn is married! We have been working hard to get to this day and it was all worth it. It was so special and beautiful. And now the two lovebirds are on their honeymoon. I miss Seth already.

We started the day with a big breakfast Samantha made. Then we where all off setting things up for the wedding.

The ceremony was lovely. First Esmee wanted a outdoor winter wedding but when we learned more and more about the forecast the week before we knew that we had to change plans to inside.

The vows where beautiful and had my right back to my weddingday. It was bittersweet. Missing Samson so much and being so happy for my son seeing him so happy.

They saved their first kiss for this day and it was so special to be witness of their first kiss. I know Seth and Esmee will be good christians and will raise their future childeren, if God gives them childeren, as christians.

Then it was time for weddingphoto's. I loved this one so much.

My brother is married! it was so sweet to watch him and Esmee get married. I'm already fantasising about my own someday. First I have to find a man.

I'm so happy to have a sister. She is the best sister I could wish for.

Two special occasions

Dear diary,

We have had two special occasions recently! First my mother celebrated her 65th birthday. They came over to celebrate with me. They don't invite the whole family over at their place because it has become too big. The two of them, 19 childeren and 18 have a spouse, 94 grandchilderen and about 10 of them are already married or in a relationship. So that means over 100 people at their house. They can't handle that, I couldn't either.

Mom keeps talking about finding me a husband when she comes over. When will she ever understand that no one will be good enough after Samson. And that I made a life on my own. A woman can do that but in my mothers eyes you are not complete as a woman alone. And I couldn't posible give my childeren a decent upbringing because they don't have a father figure in their lives. Well, I don't agree. I raised wonderful sons.

And one of them had a very special surprise that he kept secret for us. He asked Esmee's father for her hand in marriage and he approved. He went down on one knee when they where on one of the double dates with her parents. I'm so happy for these two! They are lovebirds and will marry on christmasday. How special!

My grandparents came over for a visit. It had me been quite a while since their last visit and it was only for my grandmothers birthday. I don't see them often as they live away from us. But they are very sweet to us. And they bring presents for us even when they come for only their birthday's.

My brother Seth is finaly engaged! I've been waiting for this for so long. He finaly did it. Esmee is now really a sister of me. I love that.

Before dawn

Dear diary,

Seth and I stand up early every day. A farm requires that. Seth starts with feeding the chickens and our cow. Yes, we have a cow now. Simon begged for one and then Seth joined him so now we have a cow. After feeding them he cleans the coop and the shed.

In the meantime I make breakfast for us all, including the ones who has to go to school.

When they are all at school or work, Seth and I do the garden. This morning it started snowing while we were eating breakfast so we went back outside to a white world. Isn't it beautiful?

Dear diary,

My brother and his girlfriend Esmee have been boyfriend and girlfriend for over nine months now. I just can't wait for Seth to take the next step. I have been pointing out to him that he needs to go over to her house and talk with her dad but Seth has been awful mysterious about it. He doesn't tell me anything!

Mom often chapperones them when they are on a date. Mostly just around the house. They go out sometimes but then Esmee's mom and dad join them for a double date. Mom can't do that since my dad died years ago.

Festival

Dear diary,

Another festival is in the books. It was really good and we won second place with my champignon. I just have to say that the first place was beyond beautiful and deserved to win.

I also entered with a delishes blueberry pie but he didn't win a price, sadly. I loved hanging out with Seth at the festival because we both worked hard to make our produce the best.

The other boys where hanging in the pub. They know they are not alloud to drink and they obeyed. They just where sitting it out in the room upstairs with the fireplace. They had fun. Samantha was al over the place. She loves going to the festival.

I made a good deal selling my other produce. So thankful for God to bless us with a big harvest this year.

We went to another festival in town. I love festivals. They are just so much fun. My mom entered in two competitions and won 2nd place in one of them. She desered it, her mushroom was very good.

Seth&Esmee

Dear diary,

My son is courting! It's official. After talking a lot with eachother for the last nine months he asked her father if they could make it official. I'm so proud at him. I'll see Esmee only more at our home. I'm glad.

I know Samson, my late husband, must have been so proud of his eldest son. I remember it so clearly, the day Samson asked my father, and then me, to court. I was slightly younger then Seth and Esmee are now.

Seth started with his job before asking Esmee's father. He works at a garden center, the perfect job for him.

Today is also the day that 15 years ago Samson died. It feels ages ago but at the same time I remember it as it were yesterday. I have come from far and here I'm today as a proud mother of six childeren whom one is courting. I'm grateful that God stayed with me all those years and guided me to better times.

My dad&mom

Dear diary,

My dad is already 70 years old. I can't believe he is already this old. He is a very blessed man, being married to my mom for 45 years already with 19 childeren and 92 grandchilderen if you count the ones still in uterus.

My mom still tries to get me married again but I don't want that at all. I'm happy with my life the way it is.

Spending the day's with Seth

Dear diary,

My eldest son is 18 years old and goes no longer to school. He hasn't figured out what to do next but he loves to spend his time with me on the farm. He likes to work in the garden just as I do. So we have been working together for a while now. It's nice to spend time with him. But also strange not to be alone for a big part of the day.

Seth does have a reason to get a job soon. He is interessed in a girl form church. Her name is Esmee Fletcher and they know eachother for quite a while because they went to the same school and where in the same class.

I'm the chaperonne when Esmee comes over. I'm very excited for them and hope they will become a couple. For now they are just getting to know eachother better.

My brother is pre-courting a girl, Esmee. She is the same age as Seth, 18. She is very nice and I'm hoping they will get married. I want another girl in our family. My brother has been acting weird ever since she has been coming over reguarly. Mom says it's because he likes her a lot. I hope so.

Seth's 18th birthday

(AN: a little timejump, a little over two years have gone by peacefully)

Dear diary,

My eldest is a grown up man. I'm so proud at him. He really takes on the role of the man of the house now but he actually has been doing that for years.

No wonder that a girl saw something good in him and is interested in him. Her name is Esmee Fletcher. They are just getting to know eachother. I didn't noticed it at first because she is his classmate but then I started noticing them hanging out together more and more. I can't wait to see what is in their future.

I feel so grown up and old. Having a son this old and starting a relationship. Before you know it I'll be a grandmother. I don't want to think about it now but when the time comes I'll love it, every second.
