How’s life?
I left Montreal this morning, and now I’m preparing dinner in New York. There’s something to be said about curling your hair, putting a full face of makeup on, throwing an apron over your dress, and cooking dinner with your favorite playlist on. I have my cookbook out, I went to Eataly and Whole Foods earlier on this afternoon and got a variety of different items, and I’m looking forward to rocking his world with this meal I’m preparing for the two of us. We’ll be back in LA come Monday, so I’m doing my best to make the most of this time together off campus and in America’s busiest city.

Why didn't she call me when she was in NY for this I could have carried her purse I would have paid for her moliterno al tartufo and prosciutto di San Daniele at Eataly I would have bought her anything she wanted at the gelateria and she could have had all the free coffee in the world

Pompeii to Naples to Rome to FCO to Dubrovnik
We awoke the next morning and Becca and Matt decided to take advantage of the relatively flat and pedestrian friendly terrain (ie 80% had sidewalks and/or bike paths) and go on a longer run. We then packed up and headed out of our place and caught the circumvesuviana train back to Naples for our last time after getting super familiar with it over the last few days. By circumvesuviana standards it was relatively uncrowded (ie half of us got seats) and not too hot (ie only Matt got called out by his daughter for beading sweat off his elbow). In Naples we ended up with about an hour to kill in Naopli centrale before our train to Rome. We spent this purchasing an assortment of very delicious pastries across the street and tasty sandwiches in the food court in the station. Our train to Rome was slightly delayed in departing due to “awaiting approval from the control tower, which we expect shortly”, but otherwise nice/fast/comfortable. In Rome, Matt had purchased tickets to the airport in advance with our eurail passes that required us to connect in Trastevere. We hadn’t gotten the chance to check out Trastevere much due to getting rained out on our previous opportunity the week prior so we decided to try going there earlier than scheduled then get on our airport train at the scheduled time … of course, given we got on the wrong (1 hour earlier than our tickets) train, this was the first Italian train where there was a ticket inspector in our car. Matt showed her the tickets and after scanning the tickets she told him that the tickets were for a train in one hour, and therefore “no good”, but just shook her head at us and moved along. At Trastevere station Matt realized we were actually about 1 mile south of the “hip” part of Trastevere and we didn’t really feel like walking given we had all our bags, so we headed to a nearby playground to kill time, them headed back to the station and caught our train to FCO. Once at the airport we saw the Vueling check in desk was not yet open so hung out and recombobulated bags/items a bit to get flight ready. When the desk opened we dropped bags and went through the family security line with no issues at all. Matt and the children then stood in line for one more Venchi gelato (the place with the chocolate waterfall we had first tried in Florence) and Becca grabbed a dinner of sandwiches and salad at Eataly. We then let the kids play a bit at the in-airport playground, then headed to our gate. Boarding was delayed a bit but otherwise smooth and we made up for almost all of the delay in the air on a short 50 minute flight from Rome to Dubrovnik and arrived within a few minutes of scheduled landing time. Matt was fired up to poach the L hand side window seat from children and get great views at sunset on landing. We deplaned easily, waited for bags and departed with no customs (thanks to Croatia recently joining the Schengnen area). The kids were impressed to see a guy standing at the airport door with a sign that said “Matt Percy” (we’d arranged a private pickup through our airbnb host due to a late arrival and the airport being a ways out of town). Our driver, Luka, said "let's go" and walked us quickly to the van tossing the sign in the trash before I could snap a pic. En route, he told us several sights we should see including what he claimed was the world’s shortest river and taught us some Croatian language basics (all of which we may have forgotten) on the drive to pass the time. Our aribnb host Luko then met us outside the “bikers bar” and walked us down several sets of stairs to our apartment complex where we checked out the cool views of old town from the edge of our balcony, then unpacked and headed to bed after a long day of travel.

Released as part of Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City", Dogfish Head Craft Brewery releases "Asteroid City Lager"
Press Release
MILTON, Del. (May 30, 2023) – Dogfish Head Craft Brewery proudly introduces Asteroid City Lager, a crisp and nifty lager brewed in celebration of “Asteroid City,” a new film by Wes Anderson. “Asteroid City” takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955, when the itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.
Inspired by the movie’s compelling and unique design aesthetic, Asteroid City Lager shares much more than a title with its namesake film. Just as “Asteroid City” is a rich and layered take on the typical science fiction flick, Asteroid City Lager provides a stratified, Earthy twist on a classic lager’s light and refreshing flavor profile.
Brewed with regeneratively grown pilsner malt, Tuxpeno corn malt and Zuper Saazer hops for subtle notes of savory corn and a whiff of wild blossoms and herbs, Asteroid City Lager was then finished with a mid-20th century Pennsylvania lager yeast as a nod to the 1950s era during which “Asteroid City” takes place. Not to mention, the beer’s label – developed in collaboration with Wes Anderson, himself – features artwork centered on one of the film’s most eye-catching images; essentially, it is a billboard advertisement for a billboard advertisement.
“The magical, whimsical worlds Wes Anderson has created in his movies have been touchstones for our off-centered brand throughout the years,” said Dogfish Head Brewer & Founder, Sam Calagione. “From the playful and colorful design of our canal-front hotel, the Dogfish INN, to the vibrant and refreshing vibes of this Asteroid City Lager beer, Wes’ work inspires us, and this collaborative beer is a liquid celebration of this new frontier Wes and the entire team behind ‘Asteroid City’ have created.”
Focus Features will release “Asteroid City” in limited theaters in New York City and Los Angeles on Friday, June 16, expanding nationwide on Friday, June 23.
Asteroid City Lager will be available to enjoy during “Asteroid City” screenings at select Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide, including those in New York City, Austin and Denver. For the perfect pairing, guests can attend one of the cinema’s “Asteroid City” Chili Supper Screenings, where a custom, pre-set menu featuring chili, hotdogs, grilled cheese, themed popcorn and Asteroid City Lager will be served. Tickets for Alamo Drafthouse screenings of “Asteroid City” are on sale now at www.drafthouse.com/show/asteroid-city.
In addition to Alamo Drafthouse, Asteroid City Lager will be available for purchase both on draft and in 4pk/16oz cans at Dogfish Head’s coastal Delaware locations, as well as at other regional retailers, like Eataly NYC Flatiron.

The cultural heritage of Ernest Hemingway
By Pierre Toussaint
Everybody, know his name. Nowadays, he is a world reference in journalism and writing. He undeniably marked his time. But what the new generation keep from his cultural journey ?

The “legend” Hemingway
Firstly, Hemingway was a great traveler. He was also a great epicurean, he liked party and alcohols. However, his way of telling what he saw was unique. More than articles or books, he continues to fascinate people, years after his death. Indeed, 3 movies talks about his life or a moment in his journey and 4 TV programs were dedicated to this native of Oak Park.

The posterity of his works in our culture
Since the 1930’s, many adaptations of his works have been made for cinema or TV. Indeed, 17 movies were based on his novels and 11 TV programs were created from his books. His works were translated in the whole world. One of his most famous book, The Old Man And The Sea is still learned in many schools, all around the world.

Timeless words
More recently, he was put in the front scene in France for tragic reason. Indeed, the interview of an old woman for a French TV show, after the terrorists attacks of 2015 in Paris, who advises everyone to read the novel A Moveable Feast, create a sold out of this book in many bookshops. The French people bought this book, to remember how Paris is a great city. Even years after his death, his words still resonate and create hope in the heart of people.

Celebrating New Beginnings: A Look Back at New Year’s Eve and the Top Trends for 2024
As the clock ticked closer to midnight this New Year’s Eve, we found ourselves immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Eataly Flatiron. From exploring the myriad of restaurants to the lively buzz on the rooftop, the night was a perfect blend of delightful company, exquisite drinks, and a culinary adventure. Here’s a glimpse into our unforgettable celebration:
As we step into 2024, it’s time to embrace fresh trends and say goodbye to the old. We’ve curated a list of what’s hot and what’s not for this exciting new year.
Celebrating Every Big Milestone: Life is a series of moments worth celebrating. From birthdays that mark another year of life’s journey to retirements that symbolize the culmination of a career, recognizing these milestones enriches not just our lives but also those around us. This year, let’s create and cherish memories that last a lifetime.
Embracing New Experiences: Make 2024 a year of exploration and excitement. Step out of your comfort zone – taste new cuisines, traverse uncharted territories, and immerse in diverse cultures. Each new experience is a step towards personal growth and a year filled with enriching stories.
Outdoor and Unique Event Spaces: The world of event planning is evolving, and 2024 is all about embracing the outdoors and unconventional spaces. The charm of open-air venues lies in their fusion of natural beauty and celebratory spirit, offering a fresh perspective on gatherings.
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Choices: In 2024, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s a lifestyle. Embrace eco-friendly choices in your daily life, from reducing plastic use to supporting local, sustainable businesses. These small changes can have a big impact on our planet, making every celebration not just joyous but also environmentally conscious.
Digital Detoxes: As we become increasingly connected to our digital devices, the trend of digital detoxing is on the rise. Periodically unplugging from technology and social media allows us to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. This year, prioritize real-world experiences over virtual ones and discover the refreshing power of a digital cleanse.
Outs
Stressful Party Planning: Leave behind the stress of traditional party planning. Let us guide you through a seamless process of selecting the perfect venue, arranging walkthroughs, and liaising with event planners. In 2024, enjoy effortless and cost-effective event planning for your dream gathering.
The Winter Chill: As winter wraps New York City in its chilly embrace, consider a getaway to warmer climates. Exchange frosty breezes for sunny skies in destinations like Miami and Los Angeles, where palm trees and warm sands await. Escape to Miami Discover Los Angeles
All Work, No Play: Transform how you connect with your colleagues this year. Move beyond the office walls and create spaces for connection and appreciation. Host happy hours or networking events to foster community spirit and strengthen work relationships.
Neglecting Mental Wellness: Gone are the days when mental health takes a backseat. In 2024, acknowledging and prioritizing mental wellness is key. Whether it’s through mindfulness practices, therapy, or simply taking time for self-care, focusing on mental health is essential for a balanced and fulfilling life.
Fast Fashion: As we become more environmentally conscious, fast fashion finds itself out of favor. This year, we’re embracing sustainable fashion – choosing quality over quantity, supporting ethical brands, and exploring second-hand and vintage finds. It’s time to make fashion choices that are as good for the earth as they are for our wardrobes.
Embracing the Future With these trends in mind, 2024 stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity. From celebrating every moment with fervour to making mindful choices that benefit our planet and well-being, this year is about more than just new experiences – it’s about creating a sustainable, connected, and mentally healthy future. So, let’s embrace these changes and make 2024 a year of growth, happiness, and conscientious living.

Where are the best importers for Spanish Black and Summer Truffles?
Finding the best importers for Spanish Black and Summer Truffles can depend on your location and specific needs. However, I can provide you with some general tips on where to look:
Specialty Food Retailers: Explore specialty food retailers and gourmet stores in your area. They often source high-quality truffles, and the staff may be able to guide you to reputable importers.
Online Gourmet Marketplaces: Check online gourmet marketplaces that specialize in premium and exotic foods. Websites like Gourmet Food World, Eataly, or Sabatino Tartufi often offer a selection of truffles.
Truffle Distributors: Look for distributors that specialize in truffle products. These distributors often work directly with truffle producers and can provide a range of truffle-related products.
Local Farmers' Markets: Visit local farmers' markets or specialty food events in your area. Some truffle producers or importers may showcase their products at these events.
Restaurant Suppliers: Contact suppliers that provide ingredients to high-end restaurants. They might have access to premium truffles and can supply them to individuals.
Importers and Exporters Directory: Explore importers and exporters directories or trade platforms that connect buyers with sellers. Websites like Alibaba or TradeIndia might have listings for truffle suppliers.
Contact Truffle Producers Directly: Some truffle producers in Spain may ship their products internationally. You can contact them directly or through their websites to inquire about international shipping.
Before making any purchases, it's essential to verify the reputation of the importer or supplier. Read customer reviews, check for certifications, and ensure they adhere to relevant import regulations. Additionally, inquire about the freshness and quality of the truffles they offer.
