The epicenter was pinpointed in Tsogo Township, a remote area home to around 6,900 residents within a 20-km radius. This region also encompasses 27 villages and is located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Lobutse, nestled in the Khumbu Himalayan range near Nepal. China swiftly activated its emergency protocols. The China Earthquake Administration launched a level-II emergency service response, deploying teams to assist in relief and recovery. The central government dispatched over 22,000 disaster relief items, including tents, quilts, and folding beds, specifically designed for high-altitude and cold regions. More than 1,500 firefighters and rescue workers were deployed to the site. In Nepal, the quake caused widespread panic, with tremors felt in Kavrepalanchwok, Sindhupalanchok, Dhading, and Solukhumbu districts. Residents in Kathmandu reported shaking buildings, swaying trees, and moving power lines. Many fled their homes, haunted by memories of the 2015 earthquake that claimed 9,000 lives and caused catastrophic damage. Despite the intense shaking, Nepal Police spokesperson Bishwo Adhikari confirmed no reports of fatalities as of now. However, damage was reported in the Kimathanka Rural Municipality of Shankhuwasabha District, where a two-story stone building collapsed. Experts recorded half a dozen aftershocks, ranging in magnitude from 4 to 5, within the hour following the main quake.
