i actually made prints of these as an experiment lol, quality came out a bit scuffed since i developed the plate myself & we ran out of backing paper though, but the holo paper looks pretty fuckin rad

yes i know my hands look like i crawled out of a coal mine

going to figure out some way to sell these at some point lol, they're just sitting in my room right now

also working on some pin designs, was going to launch sales earlier but found out the pinbacks i bought were dogshit and couldn't hold even with a slathering of e600 - thought this shit was industrial grade or something

i'm screenprinting a lot of the stuff myself too but

i'm too weak to screenprint properly lol my shit keeps on blowing out

this Coolpix 600 is from 1998, so it's just a tad older than me! 👵 typically you see these with a seperate flash module (Nikon SB-E600) mounted to the side opposite of the grip. I bought this non-working and fixed it with a simple cleaning of the 2x AA battery contacts :) the only thing you really need (besides batteries ofc) is a USB card reader capable of reading the older Compact Flash (CF) cards.

38 Days

Sometimes I think back to the oddity that caused this pregnancy and how with so many of the odds stacked against him this little boy wanted nothing more than to be born.

I had failed your older brother. I had health conditions that weren't fully known to me and the doctors failed us. Your brother died the moment he entered the world. It was something that weighed me down and I allowed it to drown me. I miss him everyday. I think back to the joy and fear I felt finding out about him. I think about all the health issues I was left with after his departure from the Earth.

My blood pressure stayed skyrocketing. I experienced placental abrasion. A C-section that was difficult to heal from. I was on birth control. Your father and I were falling apart at the seams. I didn’t have the patience nor the energy to sew us together again. I was content with falling apart. You however, are a source comparable to E600. Unknown, powerful. The type of stuff that works beyond wonders to hold things together.

When we found out about you, I often think of the night before. I had looked at your dad and decided in my heart that I was okay saying my farewells. That if it no longer served me, I’d walk away. The next day I’m peeing on a stick thinking that this will be the only thing to keep me here. To keep him and I together.. and there were those blue lines. I wanted you. I loved you. I didn’t even know anything about you other than that you gave me hope again. When your brother died, I existed for your dad. They say that you can’t possibly love someone if you don’t love yourself but that’s not true. In placements we love people more than us because they keep us anchored in place. When your dad hurt me, I had nothing. I was deprived of so many things. I was robbed and lost. I was beyond angry. Whoever I could’ve become was washed away finding out about you.. tucked away in my uterus nice and safe. Fully loved already. Not even the size of a poppy seed yet and I was already so excited to go through everything again.

The doctor we chose this time was and is amazing for us. Every fear has been squashed. Every ounce of stress has been understood and well respected. You have been cared for as if you were even more precious than Gold.

You’ve given me so much meaning again. What was robbed from me given back, God blessed me. I’m not sure who you’ll be just yet. I fear that I’m not fully equipped for all the seasons of your life.. but the love I have for you. I know I can endure and guide as best as I can. The things I feared as a child, you’ll never experience. You might be spoiled, but it’s well deserved my little one. Children are blessings and I used to cry with grief over your brother.. how I wasn’t worthy of raising him.. but God listens and knows our hearts.. and whatever I was lacking back then, I’m not without now.

I can’t wait to show you holidays, show you music, I can’t wait to see you dance and hear you cry. I know it’ll pain me, but those tears will be absolutely beautiful. Every moment of your life will be so special to me.. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life raising you.. showing you the way. I can’t wait to love you. I can’t wait to grow old with your dad and see how beautiful it can all be.

Life is worth living. It hurts.. it’s sad. It’s sometimes scary, but it’s worth living.

You have a whole family ready to adore you. Just 38 days until you’re here. 38 days until I see your beautiful face and know that every single moment of the pain from last year was worth it.

Your brother and you have been worth every tear. I’m excited for the new life I get to live with you.

Oops. On the road to Detroit for SCORE in 1979 we loose a support car on the grade into Vantage WA. This is what happens when the driver and the navigator both take a short snooze at the same time...

Nobody hurt except for some pride and that cherry RX-2. We carry on in the long-suffering VRI Ford E600 box truck seen on the right. Those cable-type guard rails are nasty. What is unseen in the picture is the half-mile-long skidmarks of the unloaded semi directly behind the camera. He was more shaken up than we were.

As this author was one of the guilty snoozing parties, I can report still have the cassette tape that was playing at the moment. It has a noticeable dropout at the point of impact.

MicroSD Express card speeds to 2 GB/s

PCIe 4.0 is finally making its way to microSD Express cards, which will cause the maximum speed to increase to 1,969 MB/s and double. In addition, the most recent SD 9.1 specifications include four SD Express classes, each of which must have minimum read/write speeds that range between 150 and 600 MB/s. These specifications also provide enhanced power management and heat dissipation for all sorts of cards.

The most recent SD 9.1 standards allow miniSD Express cards to achieve transfer rates of up to 2 GB/s, while the SD Express standard is gaining support for multi-stream access of up to eight streams, as well as enhancements to power and thermal management with the introduction of four new speed classes.

MicroSD Express cards may now take use of the PCIe 4.0 X1 specifications, which brings the maximum speed up to 1,969 MB/s, more than double the previous maximum of 985 MB/s. On the other hand, the maximum transfer rate for the SD Express standard that is only found on SDXC, SDUC, microSDXC, and microSDUC memory cards is still 4 GB/s. However, the SD Express standard has been reorganized into four separate classes, each of which guarantees a minimum read/write transfer rate in MB/s. As a result, the new classes are denoted by the letters E150, E300, E450, and E600.

According to the explanation provided by SDA president Hiroyuki Sakamoto, “by defining minimum assured sequential performance standards for SD Express memory cards, the SDA helps both device manufacturers and consumers ensure the best recording and playback of all types of content.”

Enhanced power and thermal management capabilities make it possible to operate at a higher efficiency. Since not all workloads call for the maximum performance (MP) option, a card may now advise required and appropriate MP values based on the SD Express speed class that is being targeted and the PCIe bus mode that is being chosen. Therefore, the host device has the ability to choose an acceptable MP value based on the capabilities of the card. This ensures that the card does not use an excessive amount of power and does not get too hot.

Applications such as data-intensive wireless or wired communication, super-slow motion video, RAW continuous burst mode, and 8K video capture and playback, 360-degree cameras and videos, multi-channel Internet of Things devices, and automotive entertainment systems are examples of some of the applications that will benefit the most from the increased speeds of microSD Express and SD Express.
