ada had been at work when he got the call, the news delivered by the doctor on the other side of the line was almost enough to make her forget about their last encounter. or at least for the time being. it didn't take long for her to drop everything and head to the hospital, concern clear in her features as she asks the nurses for directions. long legs are walking down the quiet hallway that reality sinks in, the two hadn't spoken in months, and she would be lying if she said she hadn't hated every single minute of it. sure, the two had fallen out of touch before, but this time felt different. so ... final. trembling fingers reach for the doorknob, her heart clenched in her chest as she finally gathers the strength to push the door open, an array of monitors beeped rhythmically, their sounds melding into a dissonant symphony that made her feel lightheaded. "i've decided to forgo mcdonalds for our date," bella announces in lieu of a greeting, "—i wanted to dress a little nicer than that and i didn't want to look weird ordering a nuggets in a full face of makeup and it not being at three in the morning half drunk. however, that does mean no drive-thru so we're venturing a little out of town. i figured it might be safer that way." because while she isn't super paranoid about ari's parents discovering the fact they're still friends, she figures it better to make some effort in avoiding that happening.

Her hands are full after her grocery run as Aiyana enters the apartment, stumbling over to the kitchen counter so that she can begin unpacking everything. "You won't believe what I found at the farmer's market!" She calls out to her roommate, unaware that they are otherwise occupied. When she doesn't receive a response, she quickly puts away all the items that require refrigeration before she peeks her head out to search for her roommate. It's as she walks into the open space of the living room that the door of the bathroom opens and her roommate steps out. Naked. "Oh! I'm sorry!" In a rush, she attempts to cover her eyes, devolving into a fit of giggles.

" finally reaching out, she rests her hand over the other's shoulder, patting them there albeit awkwardly. sora was never good at comforting people nor with emotions in general, but anyone who knows her would know she's trying her hardest at the moment.
