Lake Charles Teen Vocalist Nominated for National Award

Sept. 26—LAKE CHARLES—Since the release of her first single, "Hey Friend", that debuted last year, Dy'Jah's music career has flourished. "Hey Friend" made a big splash, topping the Christian Radio Charts in September, reaching 727 stations across the country.

At the age of 16, this talented, young recording artist is making rapid strides. Dy'Jah Doucett, a Lake Charles resident and La Grange High School student, is becoming a world-renown hit sensation, attracting producers and music industry professionals from all around the United States.  

The diligence and hard work that Dy’Jah has invested in her career from the ground up, has paved the way for what is yet to come. 

In April 2016, Dy'Jah released her second single, "On & On". Since the Urban Gospel song hit the airwaves, the new single has received recognition and appraise from across the globe. 

“On & On” was recently selected to be re-released and featured on the compilation album, "Gospel of the South Vol. 1", a collection of gospel music by independent artists from the south.  

The compilation is the first volume produced by A & P Records, and is home to the Stellar nominated gospel group, The Showers. The digital album is expected to be released in October.

In addition to the young teen's success, Dy'Jah has recently been nominated for the 2017 Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards (TGMEA), a national celebratory event designed to honor and pay tribute to independent gospel artists throughout the country.  

TGMEA has nominated Dy'Jah in two separate categories: New Artist of the Year and Female Soloist of the Year.
