Hi! Love your works so much and thanks for everything you are sharing with us! I'm curious if you have any thoughts on how Mello communicates with mafia guys? I saw Rod Ross on one of your works and it was so cool. I have a small headcanon that Rod was kinda a father figure for Mello in some moment (taught him how to shoot or other mafia stuff) Would like to know you opinion. And one more time just thank for you art

I definitely like the thought of Rod and Mello having this really weird father-son-relationship going on, at least from an outside perspective. They're not really affectionate but Rod is surely keeping Mello close at all times, like - you gotta keep your friends close and your enemies even closer kinda thing.

When Mello showed up out of nowhere at the gangs place, I think Rod saw him as either a valuable ally or terrible enemy if he didn't play his cards right with that kid. "If we dont keep this kid he will ABSOLUTELY go to someone else and if he made it this far he will be able to get in here again”.

Funny Idea that Occured to Me:

Mello comes out to his mafia in the most threatening way possible. In so doing, he terrifies them out of using homophobic language.

Something like ... "I am the indispensible brains of this outfit, but I am perfectly willing to be the psychopathic executor of the most unhinged violence you have ever seen. The next person who uses a homophobic slur in my presence--I've prepared a handout, don't worry--will experience that unhinged violence first hand. Because I'm gay, and tired of hearing it."

One of them complains, "But these are all my favorite insults!" And Mello is instantly at his throat with a razor, hissing, "Then come up with better, more inclusive insults. Or I'll literally [redacted] [redacted] and [redacted] with your own [redacted] so you have to [redacted] with a magnifying glass."

Jump forward two weeks, and instead of his mafia calling their enemies "faggots" or whatever, they now say inventive things like "Taco Bell customer" and "spaghetti breaker".

Dude.
