senpai! vezalius bandage who absolutely loves it when you refer to him as such, making his heart skip a beat and the butterflies in his stomach go ballistic. sure, he feels happy when the others call him that too, but the way you say it makes him feel an emotion that’s indescribable (it’s actually a mix of horny and puppy crush, but he doesn’t know that yet). it makes heat rush to his face and dust his handsome face with a pale rose which he just blames for not being used to the honorific, causing him to get teased by his own genmates when they catch on.

LOSERS BATTLES OF WITCHES DUELS - Battle 34: Amity Blight vs Augustus Porter

Because of how lengthy both of their profiles I won't be getting into deeper details on what they can do and just put links in their names:

Amity Blight:

Amity Blight naturally specializes in Abomination Magic the most, but she does so capacity in knowing spells of other tracks like Plants and Illusion, but it's very limited.

Amity and Gus are overall good friends. They're not exactly close but they certainly care about one another and don't hold any real grudges anymore. So this battle between them is more fun and rather focused more on wanting to go to the Semi-Finals as a wild card rather than anything personal.

Amity is a very skilled, talented, cool-headed, and pragmatic fighter. Hardly does she lose composure when battling even strong opponents, displaying plenty of agility and athleticism (as shown in her battle with Hunter and Grom, which is also given considering she was a former captain of the grudgby team at Hexside), and can be both a powerhouse using plenty of strength or a mastermind coming up with tricks on the fly while outsmarting her opponents with her skillset. Very dangerous, and even more so once she puts more passion into her battle. Hardly there are any weak spots or flaws in her battling style, but she can still be overpowered. Abomination Magic in particular feels to be weaker than Construction Magic for example, and it can be rendered useless when dealing in an environment with no mud. Granted Amity holds abomination goo with her so at most, she's going to be weakened. Amity is capable of controlling any slime or mud she comes in contact with.

Amity does wield a Palisman named Ghost and according to herself, she's a "safe flyer". This means she's overall pretty proficient and skilled in her flying capabilities, but at the same time, it means she's not a real aerial ace like Luz or Hunter for example. She's skilled enough to not easily fall off by herself, but as proven in her battles with Hunter (both EL and TTT), she's not fast enough to necessarily avoid being hit in midair. Granted she can still be faster than average and have better reflexes than average, but still not enough to beat some real aerial aces. She is proficient in staff-wielding, being capable of using it to enhance her own spells.

Gus Porter:

Gus Porter is a prodigy when it comes to illusion magic. Prodigious enough to skip a few grades and even defeat the coven head of illusions with his sheer raw power. Gus displays insane potential and a big imagination when it comes to his magic. Now his powers are still limited by his own imagination and creativity meaning his illusions for the most part can be used mostly for deception and distraction, but during this tournament, Gus finally revised his own skill to find even offensive capabilities of his powers. While Gus did display the willingness to study other tracks, he ultimately never did due to his reassurance in being a master illusionist how easy it comes to him, and how much he can do with illusions alone.

One must know how intelligent Gus is during his battles. He can easily fool and toy with his opponents thanks to his illusions and Gus is also not afraid to either mock or straight-up torture his enemies during his battle just to get the results he needs, and has more than enough raw power to pull his schemes to their fullest. It's worth noting that when Gus feels extreme emotions, his magic only gets amplified, however, the side effects could be that Gus actually loses control over his own powers and gets to be the victim of them too, though thankfully to the magical amplifier from Graye, the risk of that is lesser.

Gus does possess a Palisman and is known to be an utter speed demon. Gus doesn't fly in a traditional sense like most other competitors due, to preferring to surf in the air, but this only further allows him to still cast spells while midair, which mixed with his capacity to trick his opponents more dangerous. It's hard to tell however how good he is in combat with his staff, but it appears he knows how to battle with it if he still used it as a means to fight in LR when briefly facing Hunter.

One of the artifacts I allow Gus to have independently regarding whether or not his opponent also has any supportive gear is the looking glass earring he got after he defeated Adrian. The magical amplifier allows Gus to further concentrate his raw power into specific abilities he has a hard time pulling on his own and even enhancing them in the process, growing more powerful.

Luz’s overgrown curly hair in TtT is my favorite hairstyle of hers and I wish she’d kept it like that during the time skip. It’s longer than the average pixie cut but still too short to reach her shoulders.

Oh yeah I was just trying to point out how the camp was just total BS when you think about it being a way to 'get Luz to stop acting out'.

Like I get it works for some. Like it worked for Vee, Vasha, and the others to some extent it appears. But that didn't mean it would have worked for Luz let alone help her deal with her grief.

And the whole thing I don't think Camila probably agreed with until the dude started guilt tripping her. And dragging up her own past.

Like I kinda wonder how things went in the time skip during WAD. Because they probably thought 'problem solved' when she came back depressed during TTT. Definitely felt like that since that speech should have been a giant red flag. Instead of it just hiding their was a new issue.

Also remembering the fact that grief camps are a thing and that could have taught Luz actual coping skills to deal with her grief if they were trying to sell the whole shes acting out thing. Just makes the sending her to a camp rediculous.

Like I get it. Its part of the plot.

But they didn't do right by Luz.

“I don’t really remember much from my trainee days. I feel like my brain was still developing and therefore can’t remember even the simplest things. Memories were made when I debuted. I remember everything from then on. I can’t sympathize with the members when they say it’s hard for them to take breaks. I trained with girls so we had a different regimen.”

“Even with TTT, our instinct is to be funny. We still have cameras around us and sometimes scripts. I just hope this will truly be a time to rest and rejuvenate ourselves.”

Seungkwan set his bag on the floor, watching as Rosie sat across from him and buckling their seat belts. “Wonwoo fighting!”

“It’ll be tiring, but you can do it.” Seungkwan encouraged him, yawning and pressing his head against the window.

She played games on her phone before Dino spoke up. “Did Seungkwan sleep late last night?”

She looked over at him, knocked out asleep. “Don’t you think he’s gonna wake up with a cramp?” She chuckled before looking out the window.

The girl was the first one to hop out of the car when they arrived. She took a good minute to stretch her legs and arms from being confined for so long.

[Q. Your first impression of “In the SOOP”?]

“The minute I stepped out of the car, I suddenly got really paranoid. Like am I gonna get a bunch of bug bites? It was very overwhelming. I didn’t know how to feel. I don’t ever get homesick but I just kinda felt out of place. Maybe it’s because I’ve never gone camping before.”

She skipped over to the pond where DK and Jeonghan were singing a jingle. “There’s tadpoles.”

She squealed, kneeling down and taking her phone out to take pictures of the tadpoles.

“Jeonghan loves catching tadpoles.” Wonwoo sat back and observed Rosie and Dino who got closer towards the water.

“You can pick them up? Is that safe?” She turned around at the older member who then nodded back at her. She put her phone back into her pocket, rolling up her sleeves and cupping her hand and carefully scooping one of the tadpoles.

“Awe! They’re so cute!” She gently put it back into the water, picking up another one.

“I wanna try.” Dino pouted, getting scared as Rosie and Jeonghan picked them up effortlessly. She giggled at him, taking his hand and helping him catch one in his hands. He tensed up, afraid he would hurt the tadpole or it would hurt him.

“It’s okay, they don’t bite. They’re just trying to grow up.” He smiled back at her as they continued to catch tadpoles.

She stood over Dino who had his cute headband on, patting his face with his skincare.

“Why do you always slap yourself so hard when you’re doing your routine?”

“Doesn’t that make it more effective?” He looked up at her with pouty eyes.

“I think it just makes your face more red.” She tapped his head, gently pinching the ears on the headband.

She pulled her bangs into a bun on the top of her head since her hair was too short for a ponytail. “I’m going to the playhouse with Shua. If you need us, we’ll be there.”

“Is he doing his clay?”

“Yes and I’m gonna play my games.” She rubbed her hands together with a smirk on her lips.

She met him outside as they walked up to the playhouse together.

[During the pre-show meeting]

“I really like computer games. The fps ones? I can’t play often anymore because of how busy we are. When we do have days off, I’m too lazy to get up and play. But I wanna try to get back into some while we’re there as a little reminder.”

“I love the games, don't get me wrong, but I’ve got noise complaints and I rage a lot of times. Isn’t that a nice way to take your anger out?”

“Are you sure you’re gonna be able to do your clay with me playing?” She watched as he got all his materials and set them on the floor.

“I’ll let you know if you get too loud.” Joshua chuckled, sitting down in front of his supplies as Rosie headed over to the desk with the gaming equipment. She gasped with how professional and expensive it looked.

“This is perfect, oh my god.”

She was immersed in her games, barely even blinking her eyes. Her headphones drowned out everything, including Seungkwan and Jeonghan stopping by. Wonwoo and Dino arrived and were shocked to see she didn’t hear them come in. She would sigh and exhale sharply when she died or messed up, afraid of being too loud with Joshua in the room.

When Dino came up behind her, putting his hand on her chair and leaning down to see what she was playing, she got scared, turning around so quickly her headphones fell off her ears and she cursed so loud. It scared the boy too, widening his eyes as he wasn’t expecting her to react that way.

“Chan!” She grabbed her chest before planting her face on the desk and calming down. “You scared me!”

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to. I just wanted to see what you were doing.”

The older members watched the fiasco go down, afraid that the producers were going to have to censor her so much during filming. She put on her headphones again, leaving one side off her ear so she was aware of her surroundings. He watched her play, having no clue what she was doing but it must’ve been important by how focused she was. When she stopped holding her breath and clapped her hands together, he furrowed his eyebrows.

“What’s that mean? Is that good?”

“Yes! I won!”

“Ayy!” She gave him a fist bump, slouching back in her chair and relaxing from the hard match.

The girl stayed on the computer for hours as many of the members came and went. Joshua and Wonwoo remained until Dokyeom came and told them their food was ready. He carefully patted her shoulder, watching her turn around.

“Are you ready to eat? Food is ready.” DK told her before gathering the other members.

“Yeah, let me finish this game up.” She turned back around, trying to finish her match up quickly but also doing a good job.

She ran down the steep hill, almost falling face forward as she found her way to the members under the tarp. “Is there any food left?”

“Plenty!” DK smiled, pointing to the free chair next to Dino. She sat down, rubbing her hands together, not sure where to start eating first.

“Try my tomahawk steak.” He picked up the plate, cutting a piece off for her as she quickly stuffed it into her mouth. She widened her eyes, shrieking at the flavor.

“I love food. This is so good.” She covered her mouth that was still full of food while she was talking.

“We know.” Seungkwan mumbled under his breath while picking up a piece of pork belly.

She rolled her eyes, taking some of Dino’s grandmother's kimchi. “Her kimchi has always been my favorite.”

“Yeah, she made more than usual since we’d be here for a few days.”

“Let’s drink some beer.” Mingyu announced, standing up to grab them all drinks. When he handed one to Rosie, she declined.

“I’ll drink later tonight since I get tired from alcohol.”

“Suit yourself.” He sat back down, pouring the beer into a tall glass.

“How were your games?” Wonwoo asked her before taking another bite of food.

“They were interesting. I’ll probably play a little more after we eat.”

“Then you’ll come back for beer?” Chan chuckled as she nodded to him.

“You know me so well.”

Once she became full, she went back to the playhouse and put her headset on. She was so immersed and catching up on games from the last few months. Though they weren’t always easy, it took everything in her not to smash the monitor screen. She eventually got tired and bored, standing to her feet and stretching her limbs. When she looked outside, she gasped as it was already dark outside.

“What time is it?” She asked the men who were playing yutnori.

“Almost nine.”

“Ay ya yai,” She hurriedly slid her IN THE SOOP slippers on. She always let it be known that she tried to fall asleep before 11:30 so she always got good sleep. She still needed to drink the beer that she was looking forward to.

“She’s in a hurry.” Seungkwan snorted while they watched her carefully sprint down the hill again.

She went to the lower house and got herself ready for bed. She put on the complimentary pjs that production gave her with the logo on it. She took her makeup off and rushed through her skincare routine before heading back outside to the tarp.

When she saw Mingyu eating by himself, she shouted to get his attention. “Gyu!”

He turned around with his cheeks full, waving in her direction. “What are you doing by yourself?”

“Everyone disappeared.”

“Well that’s rude.” She grabbed a glass and a beer before sitting down across from him. “Can you open this?”

She handed it to him and opened it effortlessly. “Thank you.”

“Are you sure you wanna drink this late? Won’t you get a hangover?”

“I’m not gonna get hammered, just a little buzz so I can sleep well.” She chuckled, pouring the alcohol into the glass and taking a sip.

“You already sleep well as it is. I don’t get it.”

“It will just make falling asleep easier this way.”

He ate his ramyeon while Rosie focused on the environment around her. The fire was crackling and there was just a gentle breeze that blew past the trees and bushes. She let out a big sigh before taking another drink of her beer.

“I’m realizing how nice this is.” Mingyu raised his eyebrows at her as he slurped his food. “I felt out of place when we got here, but I think this is gonna be really good for us. Healthy even.”

“Do you think Wonwoo is trying out his telescope?” He asked her, watching Jun and Dino come back after getting ready for bed.

She looked up at the night sky, trying to find some stars but it was really only cloudy. “Well, if he is, he’s not seeing much.”

“He might’ve stolen your gaming equipment already.” Jun jokes, sitting back against the chair and stuffing his hands into his hoodie pocket.

“It’s fine. I played enough for today.” She took another drink, her cup almost half-empty already.

Seungkwan dragged his feet against the rocks, sitting down next to Mingyu.

“Ay, Seungkwan!” The alcohol was starting to hit her to say the least.

“We were all here drinking, and then we heard you howl for that penalty.” Dino pointed at Seungkwan while chuckling.

“You were howling?” She raised her eyebrows, widening her eyes. “When was this?”

“It was a penalty. I didn’t think you’d hear it though.”

“Weirdos.” Rosie finished drinking her beer, sitting back and observing as the members started talking together.

When Seungkwan started playing ‘Ready to Love’, she looked as if she had zoned out. Her eyes were getting heavy, causing her to squint and her cheeks flushing. When Dino had imitated the leader in the song, she hiccuped and started giggling.

“I think the alcohol has hit her.” Seungkwan pointed at her while laughing. She hummed while nodding her head.

“I told you it was a good idea.” Hiccuping once again, she stood to her feet. “I think I’ll go to bed now.”

She walked around the other members' chairs, the boys watching her hiccup as she took tiny steps.

“I’m gonna make sure she doesn’t run into any walls.” Dino got up from his seat, quickly sprinting behind her and walking her up the steep hill to the lower house.

Seungkwan watched the two go to the lower house, turning back around while taking a drink. “Ahh, such lovebirds.”

seokmin is an infp, which is the mediator. i actually float between this personality type and infj (the advocate, which is also what wonwoo jihoon and minghao are), so seokmin and i are very similar in a lot of ways - our differences come from our zodiac signs i think ㅠㅠ; infps are actually really rare! yet seventeen has four KDJFSK they value harmony and authenticity and they always have the best intentions - which!!! IS SO SEOKMIN!!!! he will always see the best in people and always act with the best intentions! he is kind to a fault! what a sweet baby.

ok, here’s the breakdown. under the cut. tw seokmin best boy

seokmin is so shy. he doesn’t seem it, because when he’s with svt he goes BUCK FUCKING WILD but in reality he clams up around people he’s not super comfortable around. example: that one picture of him standing with yuju from gfriend where he looks like he’s gonna shit himself kJHFJS or when he was filming his solo parts for the mama performance and he kept saying how nervous he was without the members. he’s super reserved around people he hasn’t known for forever. he even tends to be quiet on variety shows, only really doing his fun comedy bits and talking when other members prompt him (which is almost always jeonghan or seungkwan don’t get me started). infjs (like isfjs) tend to keep a very small group of friends that they are very open and seemingly extroverted with, which is why we get to see seokmin’s genuine personality a lot. he is so fully himself when he is with seventeen and i think that is so beautiful. that being said, infps also are the most social introverts. he makes friends everywhere, and genuinely cares about all of them. his excallibur castmates have said that he was such a bright loving personality on stage and behind the scenes, and he would always visit and support them even after they stopped working together! he went to plays they starred in and posted pictures with them, telling carats to go support them too. you can tell they really appreciated this, because they would return the favor and go to seventeen concerts to cheer him on!

seokmin’s intuition is no joke. he seems a little naive at times, but he is also extremely good at looking at the big picture of a situation and deciding what needs to be done, ie. when they were leaving the venue during ttt he was seemingly the only one that remembered they left a giant mess in the kitchen. that being said, infps skip over details a lot. he also is SO FUNNY like he is genuinely the FUNNIEST MEMBER in my opinion because he just understands every situation so clearly. he’s able to take something a little mundane or whatever and comment on it or react in a way that’s REALLY FUNNY like when they were driving home from ttt and mingyu said he could buy the walnut sweets JFDSKJDSF mingyu wasn’t expecting him to say yes bc they’re such a common treat and seokmin laughed at first but hten immeidately was like “oh actually yes order them” and gyu was like ??? but seokmin kept just saying “stop talking to me order the walnut sweets pls” GODD THEY’RE SO FUNNY i literally cry laugh at shit seokmin does like i don’t know how he does it he’s the funniest motherfucker i’ve ever seen.

he seems like the most understanding member of svt to me. the others are too, ofc, but seokmin’s on another level. infps also feel very deeply and genuinely. as an intuitive personality type, he is immensely empathetic, but not in the same way that jeonghan is. seokmin feels other peoples’ emotions like they’re his own. he sympathizes fully and completely, and i think he tries really hard to internalize that as to not seem so emotional all the time, but as soon as the facade cracks he starts cRYINGGG like he’s a BABY he can’t help it he just FEELS SO MUCHhhh. idk if anyone else notices this but he always repeats what is being said? i find this to be related because he is actively listening, and his way of showing is affirming with short responses every few sentences. he seems like such a good person to go to when you’re struggling and want someone to comiserate with. seungkwan is someone you go to when you need advice, but seokmin is the one you go to when you want to vent, because he’ll immediately match how you’re feeling about the situation and empathize with you.

i think seokmin also tends to take things personally? i think he’s gotten better about this in recent years and instead uses it as a joke, but you can tell it still bothers him sometimes ㅠㅠ like, okay, so seokmin posted that picture for seungkwan’s birthday and said something along the lines of “do you remember when we went out to have fun and fought? sorry i couldn’t be better” etc so in boo’s birthday live he explained the situation because it was resolved nicely. he said that the two of them went kayaking with jeonghan (which, btw, booseokhan are literally married and i am the most spoiled carat ever) and got in a little disagreement about something menial, and seungkwan thought it was resolved quickly, but afterwards jeonghan was driving them and seokmin put on a song and boo was like “oh what kind of song is this?” as a joke, but seokmin took it personally and got sulky. but then him and jeonghan danced to anysong and honestly who can blame them. it seems like every time he gets in a fight with other members, he thinks about how he doesn’t want it to tear them apart, so no matter how mad he is, he tries to find a way to resolve it. like with the gray bag incident JDHFKJHF he said that he thought if he didn’t pick up the bag, mingyu might hit him. he was mad and thought he was in the right, but he didn’t want the argument to escalate, so he did something he didn’t want to end it where it was. also, when jeonghan went live during seokmin’s live, saying “those who want to watch dokyeom watch him, those who want to watch this watch this,” and seokmin got all sulky about carats saying they wanted to see what jeonghan was up to. he laughed and said he was kidding, but then he was like “i’m not fun anyways.” whiCH leads us to...

infps have chronic inferiority complexes, but they aren’t envious people, so it manifests in just being immensely self critical. seokmin genuinely believes he isn’t handsome. or a good singer. like. what the fuck is that all about. i get genuinely angry when i think about this. i could talk about how fucking WRONG he is but this is just supposed to be a personality analysis so i’ll just mention that i talked about why i think he’s the perfect man alive in another ask! check that out if you want JKFHKSDF he always has negative things to say about himself but only positives to say about others. which makes me wanna fight. he also is maybe too idealistic??? like i said before, he will always see the best in other people, and it leads the rest of the members to genuinely worry about him. they’re worried that if they’re not there to take care of him, he’ll end up getting taken advantage of by someone. they don’t want him to get scammed ㅠㅠ

some other aspects of infp personalities that i think suit seokmin well but i’m literally braindead and cannot write more of this: open minded, passionate, determined, and loyal.

Another month, another wrap up!

I got a lot of reading done in the first two weeks in the month as I had to take some time off from Uni for mental health reasons. It was a rough time, and the only things I could bring myself to do was read and blog. I felt bad not doing Uni work, but if I hadn’t taken that time, I would have pushed myself too far and been even worse than I already was.

  February Wrap Up & March TBR Jar Pick! Another month, another wrap up! I got a lot of reading done in the first two weeks in the month as I had to take some time off from Uni for mental health reasons.

National TTT Championship 2018

I love TTs. The simplicity, the fancy gear and the lack of corners!

We got 3rd in last years blue riband Elite Quad TTT and so we’re hoping to take a few steps up on the podium order. With few in town & Mike focussing on his birthday ride, we were down to 4 suspects - Pierre, Adam, Peter Bennett and myself.

With Bintan concluding in the previous weekend, there was little time for practise and none of us touched our TTT machines till 2 day’s before the race when we did a quick burn up the Coast Road. I loaned Adam my spare Cannondale but the brakes broke & he ended up borrowing another on the eve of the race.

Uncle Pete took control of the tactics and this turned out to be a crucial element as the margin between the TOP 5 teams was tiny.

We all neglected to do the UCI bike test on the Saturday and did it just before the race. This was stupid as we found that every bike was massively illegal! I’m not sure how it was possible as I’d had to do some massive changes to my set up at the last TT - only to find that I was still illegal to the 2.5 inch mark! Some aggresive modification was required and I literally couldnt adjust the bike more.

Elite Quad had 8 teams and standard was Super high. We rolled out 7th in front of good crowds and in great weather.

Pete took us out to Ensure that we didn’t go too fast - but we still hit over 50km/hr on the outward leg. We passed our 1 minute men at the 7km mark and caught maybe 2 more during the race.

1st leg was hard, 2nd leg was steady but 3rd leg was a bit of a struggle. I went from 1 minute turns to only 40 seconds by then. Pete B did a death pull about 2km from the end and then it was up to the 3 of us to bring it home.

Final average of 47.4km was enough for the win - by 9 seconds over a 3 man Mavs team. TWC were a few seconds further back with Matadors in 4th. All the TOP 4 did above a 47 average showing the level of the race.

Pete and I were meant to do the Masters Duo later but decided to skip that and take our medal for beers!
