Don't forget how for Claude we have two LIVING parents AND half-siblings, with the father not even getting a name and the mother only getting hers courtesy of pity DLC. Whatever traits we know about them scream "unfortunate implications" and said traits are as consistent as Edelgard's siblings and Ionius' implied harem are. Yeah, Hopes threw in a discount half-sibling, but he's little more than a plot device for Clyde's half-continent-spanning temper tantrum to blossom from, ergo leading into the second half of GW. And the unfortunate implications behind him and Almyra stack up because he's a one-and-a-half-dimensional Hate Sink.
Ergo, as you said, we know more about the dead older brother of a secondary character who defended a primary character than either of Edelgard or Claude's families. Hell, we know way more about Lambert for that matter too!
Replying to an ask, I was realising -
We know more about Glenn (Govan Fraldarius?), the brother of a secondary character who died protecting one of the primary ones, than about Supreme Leader’s sibling who was the original heir of the Empire.
Supreme Leader, iirc, was born as Ionius’s ninth child, or fifth one? Something like that?
What about the First child, the heir of the Emperor, son of his wife (Supreme Leader mentions how her mother wasn’t Ionius’s wife, meaning he had one, it wasn’t just, Anselma) ? What about said wife?
Ionius was yeeted away in Nopes, but damn if we don’t know jack shit about Adrestia.
Sure sure, we know Leopold’n’Waldemar, yay - but bar the duo of clowns?
Rafiel is the first prince of Serenes, Reyson and Leanne often mention their older sister Lilia, but no one ever mentions Supreme Leader’s oldest sibling? Ionuis’s first child? Supreme Leader’s stepmother(s)?
Why would Ferdie have developed a rivalry with Supreme Leader, if she had older siblings already in line for the throne? Why would Hubert - the Vestra heir - be “given” to Supreme Leader, if the Imperial Heir was already around?
The more I think about it, the less Adrestia makes sense, or at least the Adrestia we were presented with.
I think those siblings really existed, but their absence in the plot maybe mean the “Vestra” tasked with overlooking, let’s call him (it’s a him because it’s Adrestia!) Hans 2, heir to the throne, wasn’t from Hubert’s dad’s line, but from a cadet line? Cadet line had a child “around the age” of Hans 2, so that cadet branch would have become the most important one, had Hans 2 survived, because cadet Vestra would have become the “Vestra of the Emperor” while Hubert would only be the Vestra of the ninth/fifth princess.
Ditto for Ludwig ?
He’d have championned Ferdie to show his talent and might and “nobility” to Hans 2 instead of Supreme Leader, but when Hans 2 was Arundel’d and only Supreme Leader survived, he switched his focus?
In FE Tellius, in FE10, Tibarn talks about it, passingly. But in FE Fodlan, there’s no rumours of a “plague” having befell the imperial family, mainly the “series of tragedies” in Rhea’s book.
Hans 2?
Even Rhea’s dead siblings are more relevant, they appear in the form of relics ! But Hans 2? His existence blows a hole in the Adrestia we know, its political landscape and Supreme Leader herself.
Of course you should compare what can be compared, but when ASOIAF’s Ned goes “this shit should never have been mine to dealt with, it should have been my dead older brother’s”, this is never mentionned in FE16.
We have Rhea feeling as inedaquate, being trusted in this position as the “Guardian” of Fodlan because her mom was deboned, but Supreme Leader never says this regarding Hans 2.
Ionius himself never mentions Hans 2 or his other children.
Tl;Dr : FE16 wrote a story where the Adrestian Empire’s heir is less important to people than House Fraldarius - a vassal of House Blaiddyd - ‘s first son.
GG guys, 10k years of lore.

Some people watch things they don’t like for the same reason they watch the news or read opinions published by people they disagree with. They want to know what’s being said. You can’t argue for any of your own beliefs based on hearsay. If someone tells you not to read or watch something you should find out directly from the source. It’s why sources are given for any sort of argument. How can anyone form a full critical or positive opinion based on only secondary sources with their own biased opinions?
i'm gonna assume this anon is inspired by this recent reblog convo
you might not have noticed but the op was discouraging people from watching it on the official streaming service, so that they don't get artificially boosted ratings by combining stats from actual fans and hatewatchers. and i stand by her overall implication that if you're hoping to see LOKI in that show... don't bother watching because he's not there. the post feels a bit like a PSA in that way.
however i agree, if i'm going to critique something indepth, then i probably should have actually seen it.
but... also, any material from it that i've already consumed against my will (trailers, gifsets, promos) is a valid source to form opinions from, even if not as thorough as they would be having seen the full episodes.
if i see a gifset of tom dressed in a weird brown suit clumsily doing insanely exaggerated clownish hairflips one after another, i can safely move forward with the knowledge that the character he's playing in the new series resembles most closely the one he played in the first series (which i did see) - but perhaps even more caricatured? and bears no resemblance to the one he played in the movies from 2011-2013.
i can't make projections about plot from scenes like that, but they still are enough for me to be confident we are in for a second helping of the dumpsterfire they served up in 2021... and have opinions about that.
actually, i will at some point hatewatch the second series just so that i do have both legs to stand on in the inevitable debates with actual fans of that new character. but not on the official platform because disney can suck my fat one.

Random question, but how do you guys find inspiration to create things on a regular basis? I'd like to start writing more because my brain is a literal dumpsterfire of ideas that I get to indulge myself in plus it's fun to share with others, but I tend to lack the motivation to actually write
Well, similar to you, my brain is too a dumpster fire of ideas.
What I do: anytime I have an idea, I write down in detailed bullets in a google doc. Sometimes it’s one line summaries, two dialogue convos btwn characters, setting etc.
Then when I have time, I’ll write down a little scene. The secret to being a writer is not focusing on what isn’t in your brain, instead writing the scenes that you’ve been thinking of the whole time.
Time will present itself differently. But find a way.
Perhaps it’s three paragraphs before bed.
Maybe it’s half a fic while you’re dropping a deuce
Or it’s two fics and a drabble when you’re in a big writing mood during a lazy day
Another thing that helps: write what YOU want
As writers, we often take requests that don’t exactly fit our tastes or strike inspiration. Instead of focusing solely on the requests, get back on your feet with your own ideas.
Writing is 3648296262% less taxing when you enjoy the content you’re putting on your page.
I hope this helps!!!!
