The moment that solidified Acheron’s character as deeply kind wasn’t her touching talks with Tiernan or Aventurine, or her saying goodbye to the dead Nameless, it was, surprisingly, when she killed Duke Inferno

They fought to the death, Duke Inferno and his children in the Annihilation Gang lost. The punishment was death. Duke Inferno accepted this and looked Acheron in the eyes as she swung her sword. And she said something to him:

“You were a good Pathstrider.”

And I’m like, imagine being Duke Inferno. You built a tiny empire dedicated to The Destruction, craving THEIR gaze and THEIR blessing, but never getting it, so you continue to destroy, yearning for just a second of validation. You burn and burn and burn until an Emanator that should not exist of an Aeon that should not exist kicks the door down and says she needs your invite to the Cosmic Met Gala. And you fight and you lose and you chose to die because what’s more destructive than that? And the Self-Annihilator looks at you, you burning demon of Destruction as the corpses of your horrid children fade to cinders around you, and she tells you that you served your Aeon, your God well. She who was the embodiment of pessimism and strife looked upon you and said “well done.” so that your damned soul would find peace once she cleaved it from your body

THE GANG!

Warning: Mild spoilers for the new Myriad Celestia trailer.

These guys are such a pleasant surprise, oh my god. They're basically a demon lord and his 4 generals, and every one of them has a very neat, very unique design!

(Dubra is my personal favorite, because her description as a scribe and someone who mastered the blade seems at odds with her demure appearance. That, and the ghostly figure looming over her, really makes one think.)

It's also interesting to note that the four Paths Ifrit mentions for each of his children correspond to specific factions involved in Penacony. The Harmony to the Family (Sunday, Robin and co.), the Elation to the Masked Fools (Hanabi), the Preservation to the IPC (Aventurine), and the Remembrance to the Garden of Recollection (Black Swan).

I can't wait to see what they're up to next. Here's to some of them being playable, at least- I'd love to get more info on the Annihilation Gang.

Hoyo fandom, I love ya, but I’m on my knees, begging y’all to actually pay attention to the basic lore of the games cause why do so many people keep saying that the Annihilation Gang is all dead???

It’s flat out stated that only Ifrit was killed by Acheron. Akash, Dubra, Caterina and Constance are all still alive.
