Ser Parmen Crane, Parmen the Purple of the Rainbow Guard

"It was just the sort of notion that would appeal to Renly Baratheon; a splendid new order of knighthood, with gorgeous new raiment to proclaim it."
It's always the way of these things that some random nobody with 3 mentions and no dialogue ends up being your nicest miniature. That being said, that's pretty in character for Parmen, whose House Words could be "de-fault, the two sweetest words in the english language common tongue". He parties along with Renly's retinue, then spends the rest of the war in "captivity" in the flowers and feasting castle of Highgarden. The proximity of Merry Crane to Margaery even implies the Crane's have come under the "rebelled with Renly? No hard feelings" policy.
Parmen was actually the first Rainbow Guard I painted, and probably gave me a false optimism for the ink coloured armour - for whatever reason, where most of the other colours had to really be coaxed and cajoled to apply evenly to a metallic undercoat, the purple worked beautifully. Honestly I think I'm gonna have to go looking for more chances to use this... prepare for House Brax to get very over-represented!
I also love the sculpt, the shield over the shoulder feels quite casual, especially compared to say Emmon Cuy or Guyard the Green in their heroic action poses. I went with this and Parmen's absolute lack of conflict and painted him as a slightly older man, less focused on glory and heroism than his sworn brothers and more into a pragmatic opportunity for a good life. I sort of picture him as the one 40 year old professional musician that every teen focused boyband has - he's not here for fame and groupies, he's here for a steady pay check and early retirement.
