Basically, Du'met decides to keep charlie instead of throwing him off the cliff in the "complicit" ending. But, the maniac that he is, is not happy with the glasses that Charlie wears and he exchanges them with glasses that date from the period when Holmes existed.

However, I'm not very knowledgeable in the history of eyewear so it's possible that my joke is missed. ˆˆ'

Du’Met looking at Charlie is so ❤️❤️ The head tilt and intense eyes, like he’s never been so interested in someone before, and doesn’t quite understand it. There’s such a spicy tension between them~ 🔥

4 emotions of granthem du’met.

1. the classic. a typical bitch resting face. no fucks given. i mean, he doesn’t emote to the point, where it can be considered an emotion of it’s own. anti-emotion. 

2. alert/surprise. 

3. the unhinged state/dazed. 

4. whatever the hell it is, when he stares at charlie. i literally call this emotion just…charlie. 

in conclusion: until meeting charlie, du’met had 3 emotions. now, he has 4. this is one true character development.

Well guys, it started as a joke but it’s getting to the point where I had to point out my observations. So here’s what I believe to be the first ever Du’Mark post (I’m so sorry)

A bit of backstory: This entire concept started when my best friend and I were talking about Du’lie, and we noticed that Mark seems to be the only character never shipped with Du’met in any way. Du’Mark became an inside joke between us as we played and we gradually started to realise that it’s actually got some potential. We usually don’t invest in these types of ships but the observations were clear to see. Let me run through our points.

The main points:

-The entire Ultimatum situation. Du’met specifically selected Mark as the one he was going to use in the end. Much like I’ve seen fanfictions about Charlie actually being complicit in Du’met’s murders, we couldn’t help but pick up on the fact that Mark canonically can aid Du’met in a similar way, if mostly against his will.

-The fact that Mark is the only one who sees Du’met’s face. The entire boat fight could be used in these types of observations tbh. The way it’s set so that the fight will always mostly be Mark vs Du’met, the way Du’met seems fixated on him for most of the fight and the way he stands over him can all be read that certain way. 

And a few smaller ones that can be shippy if you read it that way:

-The cage that Mark was supposed to end up in had chains… there’s potential there.

-Du’met will take and wear Mark’s clothing when tricking Kate. 

-Ties him up to a pole. Fun.

-In the grinder scene, he keeps a picture of Mark and Kate. I’m sure something can be said about that.

-They have that whole fight in the lighthouse where Mark can be choked by Du’met.

-When Du’met is chloroforming Mark, the stances in those scenes can be read in a certain way… 

-And I’m sure there’s others I’ve forgotten, just give me time

Look, all I’m saying is these are things to consider. I don’t ship it myself but all I’m saying is… if I’ve seen him shipped with literally everyone else, I’ve gotta say there’s stuff there for Mark too. Felt a bit out of character writing this but it is what it is. I believe this makes me and my bestie the only???? People to pick up on these things? As Mark’s no.1 fan😍 I make observations about him and sometimes they involve Du’met. Anyway safe to say I can’t act superior to the Du’lie stans anymore. My bad y’all. We’re all a bit odd in this fandom but that’s the beauty of it. I take back everything I said, I think.

Been looping the song “Devil doesn’t bargain” by Alec Benjamin today and couldn’t help but have sad angsty Heclie / Du’lie thoughts. Thought to share with you if you wanted to listen. 🤲

Charlie does not understand at all why the maniac decided to keep him. Granthem hurt him, yes - first he tried to burn him in a furnace, then left scars on his chest with a knife ("complicit"), and after killing his team, he returned to him and took him in his arms, taking him to the castle, ignoring the feeble panic attempts of his prey to escape from his hands Eventually Lonnit gave up trying, simply crying into the maniac's shoulder in preparation for the nightmares he had in store for him.

But there were no major nightmares. For the first couple of days, Charlie hardly saw the man at all; Granthem locked him in one of the rooms of his castle and came twice a day to give him food. At first, Lonnit refused to eat, but as soon as Du'Met looked at him with his menacing gaze, Charles obediently took a fork in his hand and ate his portion. It was surprisingly tasty, and Lonnit, swallowing awkwardly, looking up at Granthem, who was still standing near the door, said about it politely in a low voice. His mother raised him to be a polite boy.

When Lonnit soon fell into a depression, refusing not only food, but also any attempt to do anything in his imprisonment, the silent kidnapper did not like it. He seemed to enjoy it more when Charlie showed his temper or emotionality or begged to be let go. It would have made sense for the director to use that to his advantage and start being a poor emotional puppy again, but he just didn't want to. Part of him thought it would be even better if he bored Granthem and he finally killed him.

However, he did not. That evening, he grabbed him by the shoulder and roughly dragged him somewhere into another room, finally pushing hard towards the door, literally making Charlie fall into the new room. It was larger and lighter than the previous one, it contained his things - those that Du'Met did not have time to get rid of. Lonnit did not immediately realize that he had been moved to a room with better conditions. And when he turned to look at Granthem, he understood the maniac's message from his look: now, stop being like that, look what I'm doing for you, I want you to feel good, and you treat me so ungratefully!

A normal person would probably either react to it with a rebellion and continue to be a disobedient prisoner, or obediently would follow the maniac's lead in order to prolong his life.

Charles was not a normal person. Instead of thinking at the moment about what tactics to choose to get out of his imprisonment, all that came to his mind was the thought that Du'Met seemed to be interested in him and considered him special, at least worthy of special relationship. And he had to admit that it was... intriguing.

It seems that this thought was the beginning of the end. Now he wasn't trying to run away or anything; no, he had already resigned himself to the fact that he would never leave the borders of this island. Instead, he focused on what he always enjoyed: investigating. And he began to study Du'Met the way he would study the hero of his next episode.

He wanted to find out who he was, why he became the way he was, and, most importantly, why he was so interested in him.

At first he tried to ask questions, hoping to hear an answer, but instead Granthem only seemed to look at him a little surprised through the slits in his mask before leaving to probably consider his captive's behavior. Then Lonnit decided to act differently.

He found a way to get out of his room, however, once in the corridors of the castle, he did not even try to escape from it - no, he only carefully and calmly wandered around the rooms, finding notes, photographs and some other things in some drawers and on some tables which helped him learn at least something about Granthem. Or, as he soon realizes, about Hector.

It was foolish of him, of course, to expect then that his escape would go unnoticed. Munday catches him in one of the rooms and he just pushes him against the wall in a rage. Charlie immediately tries to justify himself. "I didn't want to run away! I didn't! I just wanted to look around!"

"Hm?" still tinged with anger, but more confused, Granthem hums, not letting go of Charlie, continuing to roughly squeeze his hands on his body.

"I-Oh" comes out like a moan as Du'Met suddenly pushes him harder against the wall. In the next second, Charles laughs awkwardly, completely confusing Granthem. "I'm not going anywhere, take it easy, Agent Munday," he tries to reassure him, but makes a dangerous mistake; upon hearing his real name, Du'Met changes his gaze, and the next moment, he abruptly grabs Charles by the shoulder and pushes him, causing him to fall painfully to the floor.

That evening, Charlie realizes that he needs to be more careful if he does not want to feel the wrath of this crazy man, the devil in the human flesh. He cries with his face buried in a pillow, all alone in his spacious room for a couple of hours, feeling pain all over his body and burning with shame. When he hears the sound of the door opening, he shudders and shrinks all over, afraid to even look at his Beast.

Instead of violence, Granthem does something else that completely confuses Lonnit. He sits down next to him on the bed and runs his hand through his hair, starting to caress him hesitantly, almost timidly, as if trying to... apologize for his anger? Is he really?..

Charles thinks that maybe, just maybe, he can melt his heart in the end. Since he was already interested in him enough to let him stay, and since he, after a flash of anger, came to calm him down? He looks back timidly to look at him with his tear-filled eyes, and sees a slight confusion in Hector's eyes. He's tense, but he definitely feels something. Something out of the ordinary.

Charles likes to be special (extraordinary). Even if at this bloody price.

He will do everything to reveal to himself all the secrets of this poor soul. He will prove to Hector and to himself that he deserves to be special, deserves special treatment.

Although it will be more like a dance with the devil.

Games You've Played (In Order): House Of Ashes, The Quarry, The Devil In Me, Until Dawn.

Favorite Game: Until Dawn (Great writing, amazing twists, loveable characters is what did it for me.)

Least Favorite Game: The Quarry (The fact that relationship decisions don't actually amount to anything, any little bearing we got was pointless and we got fuck all of an ending just makes me feel like the whole thing is pointless.)

Favorite Character From Each Game: Josh, Jason, Abi, Erin.

Least Favorite Character From Each Game: Emily, Rachel, Emma, Charlie.

Favorite Character Overall: Josh (Possibly just me being biased. 😂 But I do love his character and story a lot though — especially his humor. And I'm a sucker for a tragic story as well. 😂)

Least Favorite Character Overall: Charlie (Just an overall dick, in my opinion. And he annoyed the absolute hell out of me.)

Favorite Ships:

Chris and Ashley (Just fucking adorable! 💖)

Mike and Sam (They had great chemistry and I really enjoyed seeing them together in the last chapter.)

Matt and Jess (There is something about these two together that just... Works for me, y'know?)

Rachel and Clarice (Clarice just seemed to bring out the good in Rachel. That scene with just the two was the only time I actually liked Rachel in the game.)

Erin and Jamie (There was something about those two that was just so cute. And the part where they kiss for the first time melted my damn heart! The whole soft cinnamon roll/tough bitch dynamic gets me a lot too. 😂)

Least Favorite Ships:

Chris and Josh (Chris was head over heels for Ashley and Josh was CLEARLY very into girls so I don't really get it that much.)

Josh and Sam (Yeaaaaaaaah... They are just like water and oil, ok? I don't think they would actually mix well as a couple. 😂 And Sam belongs with Mike anyway. 💖)

Emily and Jess (Just not a fan. I don't know why.)

Jason and Salim (Another one I don't get that much. I used to ship them a long time ago because it was so popular, but then I realized that it just didn't make much sense to me so I stopped. I mean, one of the chapters about them is literally called "Brothers" so that just makes me think that that's the relationship the devs were aiming for with those two.)

Rachel and Eric/Rachel and Nick (If you played the game, you know my reasons. 😂)

Any characters with Du'met (Just not a really big fan of it at all. Doesn't make much sense to me neither.)

(I've only played Until Dawn, House Of Ashes, The Quarry and The Devil In Me. So that's why the list is without other ships from other games. But I'm not adding any of The Quarry ships to this list because it seemed like nothing came out of the relationship decisions and I didn't enjoy the characters as much so I tend to ignore ships from that game.Also, no hate towards the people who ship the ones I listed as least favorite. To each their own.)

Dr. Hill Or The Curator Or Eliza: Hmmmmmm... Probably Dr. Hill. (He was more creatively written than the others, in my opinion.)

Wolfie Or Connie: Fuck, I should have thought this through before writing it down. 🤣 Although I LOVE Connie with all my heart, Wolfie did get more screentime which led me to have a bit more of an attachment to him. So I'll have to go with Wolfie.

well, i just can’t leave the new ‘shiny’ alone for now. so this happened. this lil monster right here. *heavy sigh* 

not fully sure how to describe this one. like, this is 110% unapologetic du’lie fic. therefore, i won’t even pretend like the ‘plot’ won’t be literally tied up to their relationships on main lol. but it’s written from du’met’s pov, so it can be…well. smth. prob will have a different tone to it vs 2 other fics. might also have a bit different take on some canon events & such. so yup. time for me to stare into the abyss.
