Of all the days Higgins expected a call about Thomas Magnum landing himself in hospital, this day was not one of them. He had been out with Rick, TC, McGarrett and some other former seal friends. Their new outings were usually quite harmless, involved barbecue, a ball game or some diving, nothing that had the potential to injure one of them or worse: trigger the issues of one of them. She suspected almost all of them - Junior being the weird little wild card she was not sure about - had some form of mental scar left from their time serving. In some it was more evident than others - namely McGarrett, Magnum, Rick and TC.
Once Juliet arrived at the hospital Rick, now sporting a cast around his arm, filled her in on what happened. She wasn’t even surprised anymore. And on top of it she couldn’t blame the men getting involved, nor could she really blame Thomas and Steven to be self sacrificing idiots about it. Who she blamed moments later were the other Seals. With Junior and Ethan still out of it, Mike, Rick and TC all but hit behind her as Detective Williams came in.
“Cowards,” she hissed to them as she approached Danny. So telling him about it all was on her. Luckily she was not remotely scared of him. For once she was not invovled in the incident that got Steve injured, she was just the person the called about Rick’s, TC’s and Magnum’s injury.
“I feel like we should start a support group: Babysitters of stupid ex-Navy Seals with terrible terrible hero complexes.” It was a start that was bound to warm Danny up to her, but then again with them both literally babysitting one ex Navy Seal like that, she was just speaking the truth here.
“They came across a group of human trafficers loading up a group of girls. Naturally they intervened, without being armed and without calling backup. Our two idiots shielded some of the girls, got shot in the process. From what I heard Thomas’ lung was hit and Steve’s hip, meaning both are still in surgery.”

He walked passed all these people dressed in black, people crying. Chin and Abby were there with Sarah, Abby holding a newborn. Kono and Adam were careful to stay on other sides of the room. Tani was nestled into Juniors side, her hair shorter than he remembered. Joanie was petting Eddie, who seemed almost depressed. Mary was hugging Lou as he passed. Grace held Will. She cried as she looked outside, through Steve, to the man sitting in his usual chair looking at the beach.
“I’m sorry I’m never coming home,” he spoked softly as he walked up next to Danny. It was their spot. It was the place they envisioned growing old together. It would never happen. “I guess my luck finally ran out.” He looked back at the house, at all their loved ones. Honestly, he never expected to see so many people. Magnum and friends were there, Kamekona, Duke, a lot of HPD officers, Nahele and his brandnew wife.

Noelani reached for what she had on the seat next to her after stopping on front of an all too familiar house. Danny Williams lived here and with him now Eddie, the dog of their friend Steve, who was absent until further notice. She knew Danny was a bit torn over it. On one hand he missed Steve, but on the other - and she knew that part had a tendency to win out with him - he knew it was a good thing for Steven to actually do something for himself. But it left them with a need to adjust. Some did so better than others, Noelani herself didn’t necessarily adjust easily to the new guy in the team. She was used to Danny and Steve and the dynamic everyone had, with the new guy trying to fit in, not replace.
Carrying her two bags she made her way to the door jsut to be greeted by Eddie, who seemed overexcited to see her. Only he knew better: He was excited for what she had in those bags. Noelani laughed as he tried to acquire both bags from her. “Help!” She looked at the man who was now handling Eddie. In a way she was...here to use him as wingman again, like she had done before.

Noelani smirked as Maleah babbled both her grandfathers ears off. She was adorable, the life of the party along with her cousin Danielle, who was currently splashing around in the ocean, being held by her aunt Tani, who was talking to Grace. Charlie and Chris playing with the dogs. It was quite idyllic.
Noelani wrapped her arms around Danny.
“Did you ever think we would have a Christmas like that?” Honestly, Noelani had thought it more likely for them to celebrate a Christmas without Steve, much more miserable, which meant without Steve’s wife and kids, with Grace on the mainland, but life turned out so much better. After Danny’s birthday, they now had this wonderful Christmas and New Years. And thanks to Grace and Danny’s parents, Noelani had the perfect Christmas present for the entire family.
“And it is about to get better. I think my present for all of us is done waiting.” Noelani let go of him and turned to Steve’s house. She went into the garage and carried the almost all white golden retriever puppy out to Danny. Without a word she deposited the puppy in his arms.

The fact that her boyfriend had plans on Valentines day that ended with her spending it at McGarretts was basically the telltale sign of things falling apart. It was time, really. For the last month Noelani found herself less and less interested in him and more and more interested in someone else, someone who was very much out of reach for her.
That someone was just down in her morgue, looking absolutely miserable. Noelani sighed. She was still his friend and thus she was there to offer an open ear. “You look terrible.” She offered as she reached for a glass of water for him. “Sick of Steve worring about you?” His plan of wanting to be there for Steve did backfire after his...one night stand died with him in a car crash. She, too, suspected him to be a little bit traumatized from that still.

To be fair, Eddie did not expect Christopher to set up an evening with another kid and...well his dad or dads, he really did not fully understand Christopher’s friends situation, but he guessed he would find out all about it now, as Christoper insisted that he should spend the evening with them, that he was welcome with Charlie’s father at least. Eddie himself knew nobody in Honolulu yet, except the Lady who was helping with Christopher, so he welcomed that invitation. He actually guessed that Christoper and Charlie had spoken about how they were new and were the reasons why Charlie’s father invited him to come along.
As soon as the door opened, the little boy, who he assumed to be Charlie, came out to welcome Christopher. Both boys just bounded into the house and left their father’s to awkwardly introduce himself, or so Eddie thought.
“Hey, I’m Eddie. Thank you for inviting Christopher and me.”

The news that his brother, his standup brother Steve, was arrested for killing the governor of all people struck William hard. He couldn’t belive it, so he decided to see for himself what had happened. Him and Steve had talked, of course, so he knew someone he could turn to.
Upon arrival in Oahu he found that Detective Williams was not working for the HPD at that moment, which made it a little harder, but luckily he and Steve still had friends there, namely Duke Lukela, an old friend of the family, too, who gave Will Detective Williams address.
He drove there that very evening, in Steve’s car. Once there, he fidgeted for a moment before knocking on the door, waiting for his brothers partner and friend to open the door.
Once he did he gave him a small smile. So that was the cop from Jersey that his brother spoke so highly of, without even realizing he did so at times.
“Detective Williams, hi. I am Will McGarrett, Steve’s little brother...I don’t think I need to explain why I am here.”

100% can confirm that you are GOOD LIKE THAT!
I can’t even count the amounts of time you made me cry real tears or made me question wether you wrote for the show or are secretly Scott!
Also I 100% am right where you are with your view on rping. Everyone has a different view on rping. I have at least 1 example that is clearly quantity over quality and I know I would not have fun in that approach, I have been in a similar situation before where others would have qualified me as “popular” I hated it because there was no meaty plots anymore, no deep friendships. That is why I would rather go for the few meaningful plots and friendships with the ohana than ... have my character climb every tree there is, just cause I can.
There is no rule, no one way to creativity. You do you!
What's the point of having an rp blog if you write with, like, one or two people? Isn't that really counterproductive and pointless?
ah, hello there my dear anonymous friend! you’ve found your way to my ask with a very interesting question! now, maybe this seems counterproductive and pointless to you, but let me break it down to you why writing with the ' one or two people ’ you mentioned isn’t pointless at all!
it’s pretty common in the roleplay community that the more threads you have and the more people you write with, the more popular you are. the more popular you are, or at least appear to be so, it must mean you’re super good, right? well, that’s really not always the case! i’ve seen plenty of supposedly canon characters be completely butchered to the point where they appeared to be more original character than canon character and still have a plethora of threads! i’ve seen canon characters be beautifully written down to a t, with headcanons and even aus being incorporated to a point where they look like canon also, yet those people get barely any interactions.
with me, i fall into the latter category. i in no way want to blow my own horn, but i know i’m a good writer, and i know that i can pinpoint a canon character properly and write them well, so that they don’t appear out of character. i’m just good like that, and i have no shame in admitting that! it’s the very same thing that i look for when looking at writing partners. sure, the occasional one liner banter or a text message thread here and there is cute and serves more as a filler for character friendships and relationships, i very much prefer quality over quantity!
now, what does that mean, you probably ask yourself. well, allow me to explain it a bit further. it’s very simple! it means that i’d rather have one or two writing partners, ones that i know well, talk to on a daily basis, know i can throw any kind of plot their way and vice versa. i adore long novella style replies where both my writing partner and me push each other to the limits of our creativity and write stories with our characters! the threads i have with others aren’t necessarily threads anymore. they’re short stories, evolving around an idea that just keeps on developing, just like the characters keep on developing.
i’m not here to be popular. i’m not here to have 5000 threads at the same time. i’ve been there on my other blog and it’s no fun. it burns out creativity and ideas and the muse tends to evaporate simply because i get overwhelmed! with having two or three writing partners, there is no pressure at all. nobody is hunting me down to write replies when i don’t feel like it, and even when i don’t write them, i do talk to my writing partners on a daily over on discord. it’s simply my personal preference!
tl;dr: quality over quantity! i’d rather write with just one person and experience a writing catharsis with them than have 500000 threads with three times the writing partners and get burned out before noping out for a few months to half a year.
i hope this clears things up for you!

After her ordeal, getting back home was something. Suddenly she had safety, stability and a baby that really could act like a baby all day, babble and play and be cranky without Juliet hushing her as fast as she could. Now when she was cranky she had a lot of people she could cuddle with and be cranky around.
It was getting out of the house that was difficult. The house was a safe space, surrounded by family. Leaving was scary. Out there she was grabbed, out there she faered someone taking her baby from her. So she knew she had to take katie. But she also figured she should go easy on herself and so she took the car to Danny. Tani had told her that Steve had left Hawaii and Danny was taking it easy at work, so she hoped he would be home when she rang the doorbell and movement and the door opening told her the same story.
“Hello Daniel,” she said with a smile as she saw him, baby Katie in her arms, waving at him, one arm wrapped around the stuffed animal Thomas had gotten her, that shaped up to be her favorite toy.

It had been quite a while since he last saw Oahu. He was genuinely excited to see the island he called home. He had longed to see it for a while now, since he started therapy and got to his first breakthrough. His instinct then was to actually tell Danny about it and talk to him about everything he learned. And the Lou, Adam, Tani, Jerry, Duke, Kamekoma, Junior, all these people he cared about, the extended family, simply Ohana that he had cultivated. He missed them. Even more so when his therapy was done, the meds working....and his health declining. As he was first transferred to the hospital he longed to have his friends there. Even just for a short visit. He had Danny's parents and sister, but that did not even remotely compare to having Danny there, as nice as it was to feel like part of the Williams family.
And now he was here. He had smiled the moment he saw the island from the airplane window and now even brighter. Danny was there to pick him up, which was good, he knew he was in no condition to drive safely by himself or to ride public transportation when he could not even carry his own bag and even the distance from the bus stop to his house carrying that might be too far. An airport employee was currently carrying his bag for him so he could focus on just walking. Once outside Steve told him he could see the one picking him up, it was okay to set the bag down. He handed him a few dollars as tip before turning to Danny.
“You have no idea how glad I am to see you Danny. You’re looking good!” Unlike himself, he knew. He was thin, he was pale, he was in pain and he knew all of it reflected on his body. Hell he was too weak to carry his damn bag.

Noelani had been feeling unwell for a few days now, but never bad enough to call in sick. She took it easy, naturally, but figured it would pass eventually. Her boyfriend supported it, allowed her to just lay down at home and pampered her a little so she could rest and hopefully recover soon. By now She and Danny basically lived together. Each house contained a mix of their stuff, that just felt right. Danny had his part of the closet in her house and she in his. It was comfortable, felt just right. They joked that eventually they should properly move in together, but it was just off-hand comments so far, nothing remotely serious, even though Noelani could really imagine living with Danny. Out of all the boyfriends she had before, he just...he was pretty much Mr. Right.
Sadly what ailed her didn’t get better, but worse that morning. Just before noon as Lincoln and Junior were down to get the news on a body, she felt particularily ybad and ended up puking onto the body. That was a thing she would never live down. The men sprung into action, making her sit, getting her a wet towel. Since Danny was across the island on the North Shore because of the case, Junior volunteered to take her to a doctor. The closest one was Queen’s medical center.
Once she was done, she went for a walk..until she found herself at the Aloha Tower marketplace. Things were weird and she needed a moment to just make sense of her new reality. There she got two things: A leather wristband for Danny, with three beads, which she had engraved. And a cake. Then she got herself an uber to go home to Danny’s place. Once she placed the cake in the fridge, all set up, and placed the wristband in a box on the living room table, she went to the bedroom to lay down and wait until either the Nausea subsided or Danny came home.

The only thing that stopped Noelani from pacing that day, was the fact that her baby daughter was currently wide awake and mildly fuzzy. Maleah was eight weeks old now. She was usually a quiet baby, easy to handle, if everything was alright. It made her feel a bit better about the situation that had Danny be full-time at home still to help her recover and take care of their baby.
The only reason why he was not there that night was simple: There was something big happening at Five-0, a huge take-down, that had them call Danny and Steve in to help them as both were still very much in the ‘new baby’ bubble, especially Steve, as his little one was his first kid, like Maleah was Noealnis first. Both first time parents also had to deal with the fact that they had step-kids around the same age. Noelani just had one head-start with Charlie already having known her for a very long time and trusting her through this. Steve pulled a little harder to ensure Chris was secure in knowing his new step-dad loved him as much as he loved his new sister.
The thing they were involved with was a very loud take-down of a sleeper cell of terrorists, which had Khon2 news report live, so Noelani had that on, while she cared for the fuzzy baby, who just didn’t want to sleep or eat or play or be changed or anything else. Cuddling helped a little bit. As the news reported of officers shot, some dead, Noelani had to switch it off, as it made her way too nervous. In that case she was glad Maleah responded to cuddles like that. So cuddling and pacing helped.
Finally, after what felt like forever, Noelani heard the door open. She glanced down at Maleah only to see her smile, her first real social smile! Finally and it was to the sound of Danny coming home. Tiny fists were raised toward the direction of the door, so Noelani carried her to the door and grinned at her love.
“You have been dearly missed.”

i have said it so many times but i will say it over and over again. you're a blessing in my life, an absolutely studding and unique individual and an incredible writer. you always radiate with positive energy and confidence, even on your bad days. you're beautiful and so inspirational! not to mention, you always add such incredible detail to each character you write and make them your own while still keeping them in canon, which takes incredible skill. i wish you all the best in the new year! ♥♥
BABE!! THANK YOU SO MUCH; BABE!!!!
I’m still crying over this message!

After only working as consultant for Five-0, Steve went to work that day, finally deciding it was time to pull out entirely. It was time to move on and he had worked on the idea for a while now. He had the perfect place downtown Honolulu, perfectly located for locals and tourists, a large space, several rooms. He was excited about the idea...but he did not want to particularily do it alone. He wanted his partner as his partner in this.
So that morning, after walking all the way to work, he sat down in Dannys office and waited for him. He smiled as his partner came in.
“Good you’re here. So... I decided I will hang up Five-0 for good soon. And I have an idea for after, one that I would really love for you to be on board with me.”
