My two favorite parts of soul eater are on two vastly different planes like. The train chapter is probably the funniest dtk (my special little guy) has ever been. Simple story about killing a person lives in my head rent free. Somehow these are equal to me.

He’d be the sweetest man alive giggling, taking you on picnics, movie “dates” and taking you out to dinner, basically treating you as his partner. But that’s his love language.

Quackity

Very clingy and protective around you, clinging to you like there’s no tomorrow, he’d be very flirty and like UwU around you. He’d be so giggly with a smile around you. He’d probably call you nicknames and it’d be adorable. His hands would never leave yours, or you in general. Wether it be a hand on your hip, waist, hand, shoulders, or thighs, he’d always have his hands somewhere on you.

Wilbur

Very giggly, he has his iconic stretched out smile. He’d flirt with you, but it’d be very subtle, like “your very pretty today Y/n.” And sometimes he’d run up to you pick you up then spin you around, then hugging you like there’s no tomorrow, saying stuff like “oh y/n, my dearest y/n”. He’d let you rest your head on his chest while you sit in his lap, even if it’s uncomfortable for him.

Schlatt

He needs physical touch. He just does. Holding your hand, or your waist in habit when you two are talking to someone. He’d buy you anything you could ever want, he’d even try to make you some gifts, they were sloppy but, who are you to judge? He’d have his smug face when kissing your hand, literally smiling so wide it’s unsettling.

Ted

He’s similar to Schlatt but not similar enough for there actions to be the same. He’d be so nice with you, cuddling you if you sat next him, pressing a kiss to your forehead. He’d be so giggly with you, poking fun at you. Literally buys you so many snacks.

Charlie

He’d be serious but still his silly self. Cuddling you even when your standing up. He’d have his hands on your waist, and his face buried in your neck, resting on your shoulder. Buying silly little gadgets for you. Like little toys. He’d eventually get comfortable enough to kiss your hand. He’d be so giggly after it to 😭😭

Least favorite part about soul eater's 3 introductionary episodes?

Guess the cop out easy answer would be saying the excesisive fanservice, especially when it involves minors, but that is too obvious and boring as an answer.

But if I had to think for anything else...

I could say things like that one can feel that the world wasn't fleshed out yet and there is a kind of disconect between them and the "real" plot that starts after, with that I mean the whole Kishin madness thing - but eh, I dont think that plot consistency is the highest virtue, especially when they started as stand alone things and dumping anlot of lore before it was clear it would be a whole show would be execsive, especially when it would derail the charecterization and other things inside the one shots.

But speaking of charachterization, maybe that could be a flaw - I've seen the argument that Souls and Makas charachters are kinda flipped - with Maka being the one that doesnt rush into things, while in the show proper it was she who actually did a lot of dangerous things without a plan - but even then I never was bothered by that and one can interpret it as showing another side, especially of a Maka that is still kinda paralyzed with uncertanty after the divorce. Hell even Spirit saying things like "oh I care for Blair more than Maka", even if a bit too extreme and tonedeaf, could be seen as the start of his charachterization and arc and reason why Maka really dislikes him (but yeah maybe that part was a bit too extreme if I'm not misremembering some bad fantranslation lol)

So yeah, one other thing that may be kinda clunky for me is the whole contrivance of everybody ending up with zero souls - like I get it, its so everybody starts the series on even footing, or if it doesnt get picked up one still has that "the adventure continues feeling", but still, especially with Kid it felt kinda forced - but again on the other hand its not like a big deal and the comedic note of all the efforts being revoked do to incompetence kinda works too - especially with Soul and Maka once it later gets established that they were kinda still rookies (but again thats all prolly just cause all the shit wasnt planned, so I wont be a stickler)

So yeah, in the end I'm kinda sorry that this meandering answer doesnt have a satisfying conclusion. I think in the end the chapters all had self contained storys that established charachterizations and set up how the personalities could develope in the future while showing the wacky world of it all. I'm not even saying that I found them super engading, but at the same time its hard to find something obviously wrong - I guess one could say that BlackStars is the one with the most emotional resonance, cause its ironically the one least played for laughs and the one with the serious "choice", while the DtK one is mostly wacky and a cartoon - but that has its own appeal.

But maybe even that is kinda a blessing and a curse - the way Ohkubo tried to one up himself - so ok we first start with an actuall scythe, hence the theme, but then how do we one up that, oh a weapon that transforms into like 5 or how many others on demand, and then... Guesss two weapons and they are glocks!

Like one could arguee that maybe it leads to Maka and Soul being overshadowed - but even that isnt really true, because the scythe stayed iconic so yeah, in the end if you thought I had some brillian insight behind all this rambling:

has an emotional support animal named Cerberus. Maia picked her up from an alley and took her home for Azrael. Cerberus is a Cornish Rex and Amelia's bitter enemY

Cerberus and Az also have a strong soul bond and Cerberus can manifest into a giant three-headed cat. He forms a sort of psychic link with her because yeah he can do that

he's got a pair of symmetrical freckles under each eye

A skeptic

Kid and Az:

can sense each other's emotions? similar to how Maia is sensitive to Soul's emotions but not quite the same

They don't talk much to each other. They'll usually just sit in comfortable silence. Kid sometimes will talk to him about what he knows and that's probably how Azrael learns. Just by listening and observing

Azrael's hair is curlier than Kid's but he still has the matching (iconic) cowlick mullet thing at the nape of his neck

They look almost exactly alike, except Azrael has an extra freckle, different hair texture and sanzu lines, and the third eye

Azrael reacts more emotionally than Kid does, more like what Kid was like as a child but they have different anxieties

I imagine Azrael is good at the more functional aspects of Kid's job (planning, documentation, surveillance, protection) but struggles a little more with the diplomacy and the power parts of it all

Kid hides Azrael's existence from the public for a bit for a couple reasons. First because Azrael started out pretty rough with the whole necromancy witch situation, and he needs time to recover and adjust. Second because he was concerned that people would react adversely because his origins are associated with Morgana's Asura drama, and because of his appearance (Asura eye). Third because Kid probably wanted time to process everything

Death City tends to have mixed opinions on Azrael but Kid always defends him fiercely (and if that doesn't work Maia and Black Star go and throw some punches)

Capturing the ambience of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3

Marking the peak of this series’s “classic” era, THPS3′s outstanding game design minted many iconic levels from mundane settings. THPS3 was released on several different platforms; this guide will consider the Windows, Gamecube, PS1, and PS2 versions for creating ideal audiovisual captures.

Capturing footage

On PC, you can press Ollie + Change Camera at the same time to toggle free-camera mode. I recommend bringing your skater to a complete stop on flat ground before triggering this. Once activated:

Shift + arrow keys to rotate

Ctrl + arrow keys to pan

Console versions have freecam as well, but it’s activated differently. On the loading screen, press and hold Start once the rotating eyeball stops for the third time. If successful:

Left and right analog sticks to pan and rotate

R1/R2 moves camera up/down

The final option I’ll mention is Dolphin emulator, which offers freecam control for any Gamecube  game. Presumably, this could be combined with a Dolphin custom texture mod to hide HUD elements.

If this is all too tricky, the unlockable first-person cheat in THPS3 is a decent tool for capturing screenshots.

I recommend using the PC version due to the availability of widescreen patches. This particular patch also offers easy HUD removal. However, beware of certain broken effects on PC, like the Demoness’s flames or certain animated textures (for example the cycling lights on Roswell rails).

Other notable PC mods for capturing footage

LevelMod offers additional HUD options and graphical fixes for the PC version. There’s also PARTYMOD for aspect ratio fixes. If you’d rather, you can hide the HUD by building a transparent version via FNT Tool.

Extracting audio

For whatever reason (perhaps CD-ROM space constraints) the PC version only includes positional sound effects - it lacks the stereo ambient streams found on consoles. We’ll need to extract those - but from which version?

Let’s eliminate Xbox and PS1 as their streams are of lower quality compared to GC/PS2. Quality-wise, GC and PS2 streams are seemingly tied at 438kbps/48000hz.

Gamecube’s DTK files are easy to find (use Dolphin’s ROM explorer) and convert (use vgmstream). However, GC lacks ambient assets for THPS3′s unlockable levels.

To extract PS2 streams, you can scan for Sony ADPCM streams inside the game ROM with vgmtoolbox. From there, you can run VGMStream’s converter with the following TXTH:

codec = PSX interleave = 0x18000 channels = 2 sample_rate = 48000 num_samples = data_size

Burnside issues

There are some odd audio bugs in the PS2 version - there's some duplicated data in the Burnside track around 2:25. Also, a gap towards the end of Foundry.

As mentioned above, Burnside doesn’t have a stream on GC, and Xbox offers one of poor quality. We can do some careful editing of the PS2 stream in Audacity to fix the duplicated chunk.

Skater Island

For this level, PS2 reuses the Skate Street / Tampa ambience from previous THPS games. GC and Xbox, meanwhile, include a new beach soundscape.

Putting it all together

Splice your captured footage with your converted GC/PS2 streams and positional sound effects (if applicable) for a result with the best possible graphics and sound.
