âł TRAITS OF THE PARENT
Five minutes of conversation would get you to the conclusion that Chaerin Fitzherbert definitely belonged to her father and mother, in terms of personality similarities. She was so much like both of them- full of wonderlust and quirkiness and the ludicris idea that she could charm her way out of any bad situation. Not that she really could, but her parents doted on her (and spoiled her) just enough to convince her of her own power. Beautiful, silly, and humorous, Chaerin was always chasing after the next dream, and the next and the next; never really being able to settle on any one topic she wanted to learn or invest herself in. She travelled around the kingdom as much as she could growing up and fell in love with everyone she met, whether they were good or bad for her. She always jumped before looking, always spoke before thinking, always acted as though everyday was the end of the world and she would have no time tomorrow to do all the things she wanted to do.
She inherited her parentsâ stubbornness as well. She might not know what it was that she wanted for herself, but sheâd never allow anyone else to dictate that for her. Even if she was wrong, she would fight tooth and nail for her point of view, oftentimes being pushy and overbearing, but covering herself up with as bright a smile as her father had taught her. Stay firm and charm the masses, thatâs how she always tried to be.
âł TRAITS OF THE HEART
Both her parents had always thought that once you fell in love, for real, that was it- true love. Theyâd experienced it and tried to explain it to Chaerin, but she wasnât fooled, she didnât believe in soulmates. She fell in love, sure, with just about everyone, flirting up mutuals and castle staff alike, even getting crushes on professors or boys she knew she didnât have a chance with (and probably wouldnât like if they ever liked her back)- but true love was a myth, she was convinced.
She could be a fiercely loyal person to a few, or drop people like hot-cakes; full of feeling and fire one moment, and then fast asleep the next. More than one person had called her bi-polar, but she wouldnât let that get to her, focusing more on her next conquest. She had more of a temper than either of her parents, burning too hot and yelling too loudly. She could sometimes be too headstrong for them to handle, even though she knew they loved her and they knew she loved them.
âł â TELL EVERYBODY IâM ON MY WAYâ â
Chaerin was no oneâs ideal type of girl; too girly to be tomboy, too intense to be girly, too radical to be amusing, and too flippant to settle down anywhere. Growing up, sheâd loved to travel, seeing as many places as she could and even slipping away from her assigned entrourage so she could wander. Even as a child, sheâd been hard to pin down, running away a few times for a couple of days and scaring her family half-to-death sometimes. Sheâd always had a preverse dream of going over to the Isle and learning its secrets, but the closest sheâd ever gotten were the docks when she was 13, unable to pay for transport and too scared to actually ask for it.
She hadnât changed much over the years, growing into a woman who dreamed of real adventures, going to places no one else had ever gone before, yet too scared to actually try it. She had her interests in fashion and painting (although her style varied widely from her motherâs), but her biggest dream was to become an explorer. Or at least, thatâs what it was this year- next year she might decide to become an astronaut or a baker. One thing she had always been sure of, however, was that she would find some way of going down in history, but it wouldnât be because she was a boring princess.
