ALRIGHT IM DOING ANOTHER MEDIA LOG CUZ I MIGHT HAVE ANOTHER 10/10 GAME
Binding of Isaac: Repentance - 10/10
Technically not a game I own, but I’ve played it enough times that I’lll count it. Repentance takes the groundwork of Rebirth and fucking builds a powerful tower out of it. So many more items, bosses, routes, it is such a delight that makes runs feel so much more unique, truly emphasizing the rougelike aspect and experience. The inclusion of “Tainted Characters” that also change the gameplay and designs of characters as well is incredible (such as regular Samson dealing more damage the more damage he takes, and Tainted Samson entering a berserk mode with a projectile cancelling knife after dealing/taking enough damage)
Ramps up The Binding of Isaac gameplay and is such a blast, thank you @24fish for exposing me to this game I will be buying the DLC hopefully when the winter sales drops
MF DOOM: MM.. FOOD - 8/10
Finally listened to a full rap album, and this was quite a treat (pun very much intended). All of the songs based on/revolving around food is a neat idea and the lyrical skills are also tight! The songs in the middle that seemed to be segments of samples was also cool to listen too! Fave song off this album is probably One Beer, goes hard!

Going ahead and doing this cuz I thought it’d be fun
DRYING PANZER’S 2024 MEDIA LOG!
I saw somebody do this and thought would be fun!
Rules are as follows!
- Every new media I watch/listen/play I will make a post for, giving my honest thoughts, and rating it out of 10
- Media includes movies, TV shows (at least one season, if I watch a series, think it’s ass, and stop watching 3 episodes in, it doesn’t count), music albums, video games, books, and more
- I can make logs for older media I have not seen in a while (at least a couple of years, like pre-2018/19)
- If I give a media that I logged a 10/10, then I will draw Darryl pertaining to that media (whether it’s Darryl dressed up as a character or Darryl on a music album)
Hopefully I have fun with this!

FUCK! I haven’t done a media log in a long ass time!
Here’s some more stuff to rate!
Johnny Cash Songwriter: 7/10
I remember in April seeing that Johnny released a new single which caught me off guard, which is where I learned that these are demo songs that are being produced and released by his son. These songs are all delightful to listen to having that late Cash style. Highly recommend listening to it if you enjoy Cash or just old school country in general!
Deadpool and Wolverine: 7/10
At first I thought this would be some MCU slop because of the fact that the TVA was involved, but I found it to be quite a delightfully funny film. This movie works best as a buddy film between Deadpool and Wolverine and had some great gags in it. My biggest complaint is that Deadpool’s friends don’t really have much screen time to show how much they matter to him (hell even Colossus, a major character in the previous 2 films, had like 3 lines). Other than that, good movie! Not my fave of the trilogy, but still fun!
Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse: 10/10
Oh man, I finally got around to watching this movie and how amazing it was. The movie just oozes with personality and the artists outdid themselves again, further defining what animated movies can be. I also really appreciate the fact that we dive more into Gwen’s character and how she is in her own universe. Furthermore, the portrayals of the different spider-folks are fantastic (can’t decide if Hobie or Pavitr is my favorite). This movie definitely seems to reflect how it seems like the comics love to constantly knock down Spiderman, especially Peter. Still, a fantastic movie that might end up being my favorite this year, we’ll have to see.

Wow I can’t believe I haven’t procrastinated this media log for super long!
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
What a magical Fuckinh album. Musically it just hits perfectly, from the lyrics to David Gilmour’s fantastic guitar solos. The album being sort of like a letter to previous band member and co-founder Syd Barrett and his deteriorating mental health while also being a middle finger to the music industry and its predatory practices meshes so well together.
Shine on you crazy diamond, 10/10

TIME FOR SOME MORE MEDIA LOGS! 🪵
TL;DR:
- Mumford & Sons “Wilder Mind:” 6/10
- Lilo & Stitch: 7/10
- Nightmare Kart: 9/10
NOW ON TO THE ACTUAL REVIEWS
Wilder Minds by Mumford & Sons
Much like how “In Case I Make It” by Will Wood and DEATH OF PEACE AND MIND by Bad Omens, Wilder Mind takes a big jump from Mumford & Sons usual style of country/folk rock for more electronic pop rock. Where Will Wood and Bad Omens excel with the style change, Mumford & Sons doesn’t quite nail it. The songs sound good, yes, but they don’t quite have the same emotional impact as their previous albums. It may have to be another one of those albums I have to listen to again to give it another chance. 6/10
(Also retconning and making “Lies for the Liars” by The Used a 4/10, I liked like 4 songs from that album)
Lilo & Stitch
After not having watched it for so long I finally decided to actually watch this movie from the forgotten era. The movie was cute to say the least! Some parts were charming and hilarious (I think Jumba, Pleakly, and Bubbles had the best writing in the whole movie). What kinda irked me about it though was the tonal whiplash. There were parts that would be heavily comedic slapstick and followed up with very depressing moments (not the extreme degree of tonal whiplash that Hunchback of Notre Dame had). Still, it’s a cute movie with a good message about sticking together as a family. 7/10, have mercy on my soul
(Also Steve Blum was in this movie???)
Nightmare Kart
To preface this: I have not played Bloodborne ever, I caught glimpses of this game after seeing the reveal trailer of Micolash, seeing some wild idiot with a caged head running, and thought “Oh this is a FUNNY game”
Well fast forward and (after legal issues with Sony from what it seems), I have finally played the now Nightmare Kart, and I must say it is a delight!
The story is very befitting for a gothic horror kart race that takes place in a nightmare. The change in designs to be legally distinct from Bloodborne (Nicholas having a little bird in his bird cage is incredible). Gameplay is very solid and fun, using the echos(?) system from Bloodborne as a way to increase max speed. The campaign is also quite fun (apart from the capture the insight mission but I think that’s just me being mad cuz bad). The music is also incredible with my fave song being either Angel Graveyard or Miralodia College.
9/10 game, fave new game I played this year so far!

(CW: Minor Nudity, also spoilers for different media)
Alright baby! Here’s the TL;DR for the media!
Les Miserables: 10/10
Wicked: 9/10
“In Case I Make It”: 8/10
THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND: 7/10
Delicious in Dungeon: 10/10
Brooklyn 99: 9/10
Now that that’s done, let’s go more into detail!
Les Miserables - Oh, this musical hurts. The indomitable human spirit truly passes on in times of turmoil and misery. Amazing music, amazing set designs, and overall such a moving show. Going into it, I thought for some reason Jean Valjean would be this idol for which people rally behind, but instead he’s just some selfless dude that joins the revolution at the barricade and even saves Marius, bringing him home. This musical hurts, but it’s a good kind of hurt. 10/10
Wicked - Probably the pinnacle of media where it twists the roles to make the antagonist the main character. All of the meta, referential moments that callback to the Wizard are very cute and funny and also helps to connect the two different stories together. The costume design was also amazing and is very befitting of the strange world of Oz. The music was very compelling and catchy. The set designs were great as well, shoutout to the one dude up in the rafters puppeteering the giant dragon. Elphaba was a very compelling protagonist that shines light on the “Wicked Witch of the West” and it was cute seeing an actual friendship form between her and Glinda. Fiyero also had an amazing ass. 9/10, makes me appreciate Twisted more and what they went for.
“In Case I Make It” - Having listened to his previous albums “Everything is a Lot,” “SEFL-iSH,” and “The Normal Album,” the style in this album took me by surprise, but makes more sense as he didn’t have his band members from the Tapeworms this time around (iirc he still used Tapeworms for Normal Album, the album just isn’t listed as a Will Wood & the Tapeworms album). It seems this album goes through more of his mental illnesses and self-conflict, will definitely need to listen to it again more in depth to understand it more. 8/10, fave song is Vampire Reference in a Minor Key, Big Fat Bitchie’s Blueberry Pie (don’t make me type out the full thing please it’s almost as bad as the Song with Five Names) is funne.
“THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND” - Another album where the style was vastly different than what I came to know of Bad Omens. It could also be I was use to their heavy shit with self-titled and Finding God Before God Finds Me, but this seemed to have more clean vocals and electronic parts. Not a bad album though, I still enjoyed listening to it! Then of course ARTIFICIAL SUICIDE came in and just basically knocked me unconscious with its raw energy and sound. 7/10, might have to be another album I listen through again to appreciate more!
Brooklyn 99 - I finally decided to check out this series after hearing and seeing so much about it and also since I was waiting for Delicious in Dungeon episodes to drop. Absolutely hilarious show that I feel does the cutaway gags much better than Family Guy. All the characters are enjoyable in their own ways with my faves being Sgt. Terry and Capt. Holt (rest in peace Andre Braugher). 9/10, fun show!
Delicious in Dungeon - You mean to tell me there’s a show that is a fantasy party adventure that is comedic, heartfelt, AND has good food? Me ass show! From the beginning it felt like the show was already subverting expectations and tropes, from Laois being human fighter but having depth with his extensive monster knowledge, to Chilchuck being the smol-looking boi that (pseudo-head canon) enforces his union-mandated smoke breaks. I am super invested in this anime and is probably one of my fave ever (Lupin III still tops my fave anime). 10/10, I really need to make bread.

Welp, time to do another media log where I forgot to record every media I consumed in the past 2 months
(TL;DR: here are my ratings for all the media)
GotG3: 9/10
Bandersnatch: Black Mirror: 8/10
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent: 9/10
UK Taskmaster: 8/10
Bob’s Burgers: 10/10
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth: 9/10
The Used - Lies for the Liars: 6/10
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about some fucking media!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 is one of 2 movies that I have cried 3 times watching across the whole thing (the other being JoJo Rabbit). Incredible VFX, amazing acting, Rocket becoming one of my new fave Marvel characters (I feel like he is similar to Nikolai from cod zombies where they were first joke characters but then became the best well written characters in their respective areas). My one complaint about this movie is just the fact that Adam Warlock didn’t have as much impact as I would’ve liked to see. Still, great movie! 9/10
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is a movie that is very meta in its sense of interactive film thriller that had me hooked for 2 hours (when the film said it was like 1.5 hours, fecking liars). 8/10
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent had sort of a slow start I felt, but once it got rolling oh my god it got rolling and I was in the crossfire of the massive boulder of comedy! Felt like it was meta in the way they constantly referenced Nick Cage movies while also making it work and be hilarious, loved Pedro Pascal as Javi so much! 9/10
The difference between American and British game shows is wild and it can be shown clearly here with Taskmaster. Simple premise of Greg Davies getting British comedians to complete tasks for his entertainment. Loved the banter between Greg, Alex, and the contestants! Really good just to watch before bed or just if needing some ear/eye candy. 8/10
I don’t think there’s ever been a TV show more meant for me and the comedy style. Just the combination of the absurdism humor in the world with Bob’s dry, monotone humor meshes really well to create a show that I kept laughing my ass off watching. 10/10!
It’s weird that I’ve played so many Roguelikes (BPM: Bullets Per Minute, Hades, Enter the Gungeon, Crypt of the Necrodancer) and I hadn’t played the Binding of Isaac. This is the quintessential roguelike, music also goes incredibly hard! 9/10
It sucks ending the log on a low note, but it’s also how I felt listening to the album. It might be that Ripper, Pretty Handsome Awkward, and the Bird & the Worm were such good songs that heightened my expectations, but I just didn’t find myself enjoying this album that much. 6/10

Time for more media logs that I’ve forgotten to do!
Mumford & Sons - “Babel”
Definitely the album I needed to hear as my mental health was improving! The titular “Babel” and “Hopeless Wanderer” are definitely my favorite songs from this album! A lot of songs too so unfortunately not all of them were zingers. 9/10
Bad Omens Self Titled
Having listened to Finding God Before God Finds Me, I decided to take my friend’s advice and listen to a heavier album from them. Fucking banger song, Hedonist is for sure my fave. I don’t think the songs are better than Finding God, but I definitely think it’s a better album overall. 9/10
And finally, Studio Ghibli’s “My Neighbor Totoro”
Overall just a really fun and wholesome movie! The titular character Totoro has just become a comfort character for me (here’s hoping I get a Totoro plush some day). 10/10 (I’ll also draw Darryl as Totoro sometime)

Up next on my media logs is…
(Technically I watched this movie back in 2019 but I completely forgot the whole meaning of the movie so this counts)
Visually stunning as always, incredible scenery, amazing character/dragon design! Also the message of love and loss ties in so well with this movie! I’m glad I watched the movie again cuz it was absolutely worth it! 9/10

Another addition for the logs (decided to not reblog cuz it was tedious)!
Tonight is Alice in Wonderland, the classic Disney animated from 1951!
The things that stick out to me the most in the movie is the different designs for the creatures, as well as the way that there is a right amount of sense in the nonsense to make sense, truly sensical nonsense.
I give it a 7/10, nice storyline with beautiful art and design!

And to start off my media log is…
What seems to be a mix of Deep Rock Galactic’s scavenger hunt that includes an overarching company that doesn’t seem too keen on the wellbeing of their employees with horror aspects of both the atmosphere and different creatures, as well as seemingly being zoomer-coded as fuck, the few hours I already had on this game were so delightful and something I’m excited to play more of! Seeing the game come from a developer that original worked on Roblox games is also amazing and makes what the newer game devs come up with even more intriguing. Giving Lethal Company a solid 8/10, a good, fun time!
Going ahead and doing this cuz I thought it’d be fun
