One of Dr Mo Sarhan’s patients was experiencing intense cravings for opioids and alcohol when the Florida-based doctor offered him a striking solution: the Eli Lilly weight-loss drug Mounjaro.“Within days, all of his cravings were gone and he was much more effective in his engagement and treatment. He’s done great since,” Sarhan says. Sarhan and his colleague Steven Klein at the Caron Treatment Centers in Florida and Pennsylvania have prescribed a range of so-called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1s) to treat addictions, using them alongside traditional therapies, to around 75 patients. The results, which Sarhan describes as “compelling”, are the latest sign that drugs such as Mounjaro, Ozempic and Wegovy could be effective treatments for a startlingly wide range of conditions well beyond their original focus on obesity and diabetes. On Tuesday, Dave Ricks, Eli Lilly’s chief executive, said the company would begin large studies of GLP-1s in alcohol, nicotine and drug abuse — the first pharmaceutical group to do so. “These medicines, we think and we’ve aimed to prove, can be useful for other things we don’t think about connected to weight,” he told the Economic Club of Washington DC.While GLP-1s are not clinically approved for addiction treatment, preliminary studies suggest they reduce cravings by acting on pleasure pathways in the brain — similar to the mechanism that dampens appetite. In recent years, GLP-1s have helped transform the waistlines of patients and the top lines of pharmaceutical groups Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. Worldwide, more than 1bn people are defined as obese, according to research published this year in The Lancet, with rates doubling for adults and quadrupling for children and adolescents between 1990 and 2022. Conditions linked to obesity, such as chronic kidney disease and diabetes, are increasingly prevalent too. Some content could not load. Check your internet connection or browser settings.According to data provider Airfinity, there are 66 ongoing, late-stage trials of GLP-1 drugs for obesity, diabetes and a range of other conditions linked to excess weight. The prospect of broader uses for the drugs is one reason that Goldman Sachs analysts anticipate a $130bn market for them by 2030.But there are also ongoing studies in treatment areas with few apparent links to excess weight. Novo Nordisk is running three late-stage trials of semaglutide, the active ingredient in its Ozempic and Wegovy drugs, for Alzheimer’s disease. Another of the class of drugs, lixisenatide, has shown some early promise in slowing the worsening of motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease patients. Widespread uptake of the drugs could help tackle the rising tide of chronic diseases across the world and lower the costs associated with them for health systems. In one example, Airfinity estimates that Wegovy could prevent up to 3.8mn cases of obstructive sleep apnoea, a breathing disorder, in the US by 2030. That could cut expenditure on the CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machines used to help patients manage symptoms in the US by up to $3bn. Sarhan’s patients, most of whom pay for the drug themselves and are all informed beforehand of its regulatory status, have taken the treatments for addiction to nicotine, inhalants and alcohol. But the therapeutic mechanisms of the drugs are not yet fully understood and many of the benefits have not been verified in late-stage trials. Production of GLP-1s is currently dominated by Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, which have much more incentive to maximise the revenue potential of the obesity market than to spend on experimental clinical trials in unproven treatment areas. And the hefty price tags and unpleasant side effects associated with current weight-loss treatments mean they are not yet a panacea for the growing body of chronic health conditions across the world.Lower-priced, more widely available drugs that could be taken orally are “the direction of travel,” says Naveed Sattar, professor at the University of Glasgow and chair of the UK government’s obesity mission. “But we are not there yet — because the drugs are too expensive.” GLP-1 receptor agonists have surprised scientists before. The gut hormone was originally discovered in the 1980s, but found to break down quickly in the body. It was not until researchers discovered a similar but more stable compound in the venom of the Gila monster, a lizard native to North America, that they were able to produce long-lasting drugs mimicking GLP-1’s effects. The first GLP-1 based drug was approved in 2005.Early GLP-1s were developed as diabetes treatments owing to their ability to stimulate insulin production, with weight loss initially a useful side effect. Previous treatments for obesity itself came with dangerous side effects. The “fen-phen” cocktail of an appetite suppressant and amphetamine was withdrawn in 1997 after its use was linked to heart valve defects. Novo Nordisk is running late-stage trials of semaglutide, the active ingredient in its Ozempic and Wegovy drugs, for Alzheimer’s disease © Steve Christo/Corbis/Getty ImagesRather than increasing cardiovascular risk, GLP-1s have shown impressive benefits. Last year, Novo Nordisk unveiled data that suggested semaglutide cut the risk of heart attacks by 28 per cent in its so-called Step trial of 17,604 patients, and reduced the risk of death by 18 per cent. The results of the trial have helped expand the drugs’ usage. In March, Novo Nordisk secured US approval for Wegovy to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in overweight or obese adults with cardiovascular disease.“It’s a complete turnaround from what we’ve had before,” says Vlado Perkovic, a renal specialist at UNSW Sydney, who has done research on the impact of GLP-1s on kidney conditions. Trials show the drugs are effective in treating both chronic kidney disease and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis or Mash, a liver disease. Meanwhile, Eli Lilly’s Mounjaro has slashed the severity of sleep apnoea, a breathing disorder, by nearly two-thirds and cut heart failure outcomes in a separate trial.Sattar, the University of Glasgow professor, says weight loss alone is a major driver of improvements across each of these disease areas. “The weight loss attributes of the drugs are responsible for most of the benefits in multiple diseases, or are the predominant reason why these drugs affect multiple diseases,” he says. As new and stronger drugs emerge, these effects are likely to increase. Novo Nordisk’s chief executive Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen said last month he was “very excited” about the potential of the company’s new CagriSema drug on diseases linked to obesity. Upcoming data is expected to show the drug delivers 25 per cent weight loss on average, an increase from the 22 per cent attributed to Mounjaro.Danish professor Jens Juul Holst was among the first to identify the GLP-1 hormone in 1986, and sees the new crop of GLP-1s as similar in impact to bariatric surgery, a procedure to shrink stomach volume.“The effects are becoming more and more clear, and now there’s no doubt that with the rate of weight loss you have, you also will have a real solution for steatosis [excess liver fat] in many individuals,” says Holst. But weight loss alone does not explain the drugs’ benefits. Both Holst and Sattar pointed to a discontinued GLP-1 drug once marketed by GSK, albiglutide, that did not provide any weight loss in clinical trials, but led to cardiovascular benefits for patients. There are GLP-1 receptors throughout the body and researchers believe the drugs could also have direct effects on organs and lead to health improvements other than through weight loss.Recent trials exploring the effects of semaglutide in diabetics with chronic kidney disease showed a 24 per cent reduction in outcomes such as kidney failure for patients taking the drug.“Weight loss may well be a contributor, but it would appear unlikely to be the whole explanation,” says Perkovic. The drugs also lower inflammation in the body, which has been linked to better cardiovascular outcomes, while they could also be having “direct effects” on the kidneys, such as improving blood flow and reducing pressure in the kidney blood vessels, he adds.Knowledge about the exact reasons for improved health outcomes is likely to increase as the drugs are more widely prescribed and drugmakers conduct larger studies.“There will be a continuous flow of new results . . . which may or may not provide better explanations for exactly what goes on,” says Holst. The wide-ranging action of GLP-1s has also triggered a search for still broader therapeutic frontiers. One of the most intriguing is a late-stage trial of semaglutide in Alzheimer’s patients, with initial results expected in 2025. It follows early findings that patients with type 2 diabetes were less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease if they were receiving GLP-1 medications.Success would be “freaking nuts,” says one biotech investor, while noting that neurological disorders have for decades defied treatment. One pharmaceutical executive said scientists at his company were “sceptical” that the trial would bring positive results, partly because the drugs are not yet proven to cross the blood-brain barrier, a semi-permeable membrane that protects the brain.Holst says “the most logical” way of explaining the potential benefits is through the lowering of inflammation and improvements in circulation. But it is still too soon to say whether GLP-1s offer a pioneering way to treat disorders afflicting growing numbers of people as societies age. Studies exploring the drugs’ effects in combating Parkinson’s disease have also had mixed results. French scientists unveiled a study in April suggesting that lixisenatide — a GLP-1 diabetes drug — could slow the impact of the brain disorder, which causes balance and movement problems and other symptoms. Patients who took the medicine exhibited no further worsening of their motor symptoms after a one-year trial. But exenatide, which had shown potential in an earlier trial of Parkinson’s patients, flopped in a new one reported in October. Olivier Rascol, co-author of the French study of lixisenatide, says the drug is quite similar in structure to exenatide, making it hard to explain why a trio of trials yielded such contrasting results.“Nobody really has a clear explanation for [the] negative outcomes,” says Rascol, a Toulouse University Hospital professor and co-ordinator of the French NS-Park network for Parkinson’s research. The Parkinson’s conundrum highlights wider gaps in knowledge about how GLP-1s work against brain disorders. Evidence for their effectiveness in treating addiction, for instance, has largely come from looking back at health records and observing that patients with addictions were less likely to overdose if they were using GLP-1s. Sue Grigson, a scientist at Penn State University Hospital who has worked on small studies in opioid-use disorder, is among those exploring the links. She has observed a lower dopamine response when patients were using GLP-1s, indicating that the effect of the “feel-good” hormone is damped by the drugs. Grigson said the drugs appear to have an effect on the circumventricular organs — the parts of the brain not protected by the blood-brain barrier — and this may influence brain function. But much remains unknown about the drugs’ impact on neurological conditions. “This is still very much in infancy,” Rascol says, of the understanding of how GLP-1s affect the brain. “There will be more . . . experiments to better explore the real effects of these compounds.”While scientists continue to explore their potential, pharmaceutical companies are already cashing in on GLP-1s’ broader health benefits.Eli Lilly is seeking US regulatory approval for Mounjaro as a treatment for sleep apnoea, while Novo Nordisk has filed an application for Wegovy in chronic kidney disease.“There’s a reason why companies have gone for these diseases where they think the weight loss plus or minus the direct effect may have a benefit,” says Sattar. “Guess what? The reality proves that to be the case.” Upfront costs of GLP-1s are likely to hold back the wide-ranging access needed if the treatments are to tackle cardiometabolic diseasesBut large-scale trials are expensive and securing extra approvals could entrench the early movers’ grip on the GLP-1 market. “Novo and Lilly are going to cement their lead here,” said one investment banker.Adam Steensberg, the chief executive of Danish biotech Zealand Pharma, which is developing an alternative weight loss product based on a different hormone, says “there is a duopoly already” in the GLP-1 market. Combining different drugs could be a way of expanding the effects of GLP-1s further still. Doctors such as Perkovic envisage a possible future treatment regime for chronic kidney disease patients that combines existing drugs with GLP-1s to drastically reduce the risks of organ failure. But the upfront costs of GLP-1s are likely to hold back the wide-ranging access needed if the treatments are to tackle cardiometabolic diseases across the world. The US list price of Wegovy is $1,349 for a one-month course. The cost of preventing one major adverse cardiovascular event, such as a heart attack or stroke, is likely to be almost $1.3mn, Airfinity predicts. This estimate assumes such an outcome would on average require 67 people to be treated for over three years, with the drugs available at a large discount to the list price.Side-effects including nausea, diarrhoea and fatigue also remain a problem for some users, a challenge drugmakers and physicians are attempting to address. BlueHealth Intelligence, a health insurer in the US, found that 30 per cent of GLP-1 users in the US were discontinuing their usage within a month, with poorer patients more likely to stop taking their drugs.Glasgow University’s Sattar sees a “distant future” where lower-priced GLP-1s can be given to patients orally at the onset of conditions such as diabetes, tackling both obesity and other negative consequences in a way that doesn’t “bankrupt the health system”.While progress is being made on cardiometabolic conditions, Ricks’ comments are the first sign that pharmaceutical companies will undertake clinical trials in areas such as addiction. Even if scientists establish a link, the road to an approval for use here is long. The head of the US National Institute on Drug Abuse, Nora Volkow, points out that treating addiction may not be a commercial priority for pharmaceutical groups. GLP-1s are already generating big sales for Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, but many obese patients are yet to receive them — so there is still a huge target market. “It may be hard, if the pharmaceutical industry says ‘why should I care? I make much more money prescribing these things for obesity’,” Volkow says. "A Suicide Prevention Initiative by Richard Conaboy to Combat Addiction"
Tumblr media
The opioid epidemic is a serious issue, and in light of recent events, those in the United States are turning to better methods of tackling the drug crisis. Richard Conaboy was an advocate for addressing the opioid epidemic, specifically in his home state of Pennsylvania. An obituary published by the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader in 2017 stated that his death was a "tragic loss" to the area. At Clear Brook, we strongly believe that advancing further conversations around suicide prevention is a must. That's why we wanted to highlight the life of Richard Conaboy, who retired from the William Stout Law Offices as of-counsel in May of 2017 before his eventual passing in 2018. Conaboy was a major advocate for the fight against opioid addiction in Pennsylvania, with many accomplishments attributed to his specific efforts. Conaboy helped to create the pilot program at the Luzerne County Probation Office. The innovative program focuses on drug testing to further the goals of the court’s treatment protocols and promotes drug rehabilitation for those who violated court orders. He also worked to further other efforts in drug education and greater access to addiction treatment centers. Other projects Conaboy was involved in include: - Founding member of the Drug and Alcohol Services Advisory Council - Working with local-level leadership to advance conversation around opioid usage - Serving on the Governor’s Task Force on Opioid Drug Abuse Though Richard Conaboy has passed, people continue to be inspired by his accomplishments. His death in late 2018 from suicide was met with much tragedy. Though a major advocate for suicide prevention, no one was able to prevent his own passing. At Clear Brook, we believe in the importance of conversations surrounding mental health, addiction, and suicide prevention. If you are in need of help, please do not hesitate to visit the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline here. If you would like to read more about Richard Conaboy, you can find the full article here on our website, the home of quality drug rehabilitation services.

Reclaim Your Life: A Guide To Drug Rehab In Pennsylvania
Drug rehab in your area is more than just a catchphrase; it's a beacon of hope for individuals grappling with addiction in Pennsylvania. In a state that has not been immune to the nationwide opioid crisis, drug rehabilitation programs have emerged as a lifeline for those seeking to break free from the clutches of substance abuse.
Pennsylvania, the sixth most populous state in the United States, is no stranger to the complex web of issues surrounding substance abuse. As addiction continues to affect individuals and communities, the demand for effective drug rehab programs has risen dramatically. Fortunately, Pennsylvania offers a wide range of treatment options, reflecting the diverse needs of its residents. From urban centers like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to the tranquil countryside, there is a network of support and care that extends throughout the state. It's a testament to Pennsylvania's commitment to addressing the addiction crisis on a local level, focusing on recovery and healing one person at a time.
The Opioid Epidemic: A Harrowing Reality
Before we delve into the specifics of drug rehab in Pennsylvania, it's crucial to understand the context in which these programs operate. The opioid epidemic has had a devastating impact on the state, claiming the lives of thousands and leaving countless others in its grip. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, opioid-related overdose deaths reached a staggering 5,172 in 2017, an alarming statistic that sent shockwaves through the state. This crisis not only touches the lives of those directly affected but also ripples through communities, placing a heavy burden on healthcare providers, law enforcement, and social services.
As the opioid epidemic unfolded, the state recognized the urgency of the situation and took proactive measures to combat it. Pennsylvania's response to this crisis has been multifaceted, combining law enforcement initiatives, harm reduction strategies, and, crucially, the expansion of drug rehab facilities. The aim is not only to save lives in the immediate term but also to provide individuals with the tools to reclaim their lives and reintegrate into society as productive and healthy citizens.
Types of Drug Rehab Programs in Pennsylvania
One of the most remarkable aspects of Pennsylvania's approach to drug rehab is the variety of treatment options available. These programs cater to different needs, preferences, and circumstances, acknowledging that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for addiction. Some of the most common types of drug rehab programs in Pennsylvania include:
Inpatient Rehab: Inpatient facilities provide a structured environment where individuals live at the treatment center for a specified period. This type of program is ideal for those with severe addiction and those who need a safe, controlled space to focus on recovery.
Outpatient Rehab: Outpatient programs offer flexibility by allowing individuals to attend treatment sessions while living at home. This is a suitable option for those with milder addiction or significant responsibilities, such as work or family commitments.
Detox Centers: Detox is often the first step in addiction recovery, as it helps individuals safely withdraw from drugs or alcohol while managing withdrawal symptoms. Many rehab centers in Pennsylvania offer detox services as part of their comprehensive programs.
Long-Term Rehab: Some individuals benefit from extended periods of treatment, lasting six months or longer. These programs are designed to address deep-seated issues and provide ongoing support for sustained recovery.
Dual Diagnosis Programs: Many people struggling with addiction also have co-occurring mental health issues. Dual diagnosis programs address both addiction and mental health disorders simultaneously, recognizing their interplay.
Holistic and Alternative Therapies: In addition to traditional treatment methods, some rehab centers in Pennsylvania offer holistic and alternative therapies such as art therapy, yoga, meditation, and acupuncture to promote healing and recovery on multiple levels.
Challenges and Barriers to Accessing Drug Rehab in Pennsylvania
While Pennsylvania's commitment to addressing addiction is commendable, it's not without its challenges. Access to drug rehab programs can be hindered by several factors, including financial barriers, transportation issues, and social stigma. The cost of rehab can be a significant obstacle for many individuals, especially those without insurance. Fortunately, Pennsylvania offers state-funded programs and assistance to help individuals access treatment, but more needs to be done to ensure that everyone who needs help can receive it.
Transportation can also be a hurdle, particularly for those in rural areas where treatment centers may be less accessible. The state has made efforts to expand treatment options, but addressing this issue remains a priority.
Stigma is another major impediment to seeking help for addiction. People often hesitate to admit they have a problem and fear the judgment of others. Pennsylvania has launched public awareness campaigns to combat this stigma and encourage open conversations about addiction, but changing societal attitudes is a long-term endeavor.
The Path to Recovery: Success Stories from Pennsylvania
Despite these challenges, countless individuals in Pennsylvania have successfully navigated the path to recovery, illustrating the power of resilience, support, and effective treatment. The following stories highlight the journeys of those who have embraced drug rehab in Pennsylvania and emerged on the other side, stronger and healthier.
Emma's Story:
Emma, a resident of Allentown, found herself caught in the throes of opioid addiction after a prescription for pain medication led to dependency. She struggled with the loss of her job, her marriage, and her self-esteem. With the support of her family, she sought treatment at an inpatient rehab facility in the Lehigh Valley. Through counseling, group therapy, and a newfound determination, Emma completed her rehab program and has been in recovery for three years. She now volunteers at a local rehab center, helping others on their journey to sobriety.
Michael's Journey:
Michael's addiction began in his late teens when he started experimenting with drugs in his hometown of Erie. Over the years, his substance abuse escalated, leading to a series of legal troubles and strained relationships with his family. It wasn't until he faced the prospect of incarceration that he decided to turn his life around. Michael enrolled in a long-term rehab program in Pittsburgh, where he not only overcame his addiction but also developed valuable life skills. Today, he is a counselor at the same rehab center, providing guidance to others who, like him, are seeking redemption.
The Importance of Aftercare
Recovery doesn't end when an individual completes a rehab program; it's an ongoing journey that requires ongoing support. Pennsylvania's drug rehab centers understand the significance of aftercare in maintaining long-term sobriety. Aftercare programs vary in form but typically involve continued counseling, support group participation, and access to resources that help individuals transition back into their daily lives. These programs play a pivotal role in preventing relapse and offering a safety net for those in recovery.
The Role of Peer Support and Community
One of the remarkable aspects of drug rehab in Pennsylvania is the sense of community that develops within these programs. Peer support is often an integral part of the recovery process, as individuals can relate to one another's struggles and successes. Many rehab centers in Pennsylvania incorporate peer-led support groups and activities to foster a sense of belonging and solidarity. These connections often extend beyond the rehab center, providing a network of support for individuals as they reintegrate into their communities.
State Initiatives and Legislation
Pennsylvania's commitment to addressing addiction is not limited to providing treatment options; it also involves legislative and policy efforts to curb the opioid epidemic. The state has taken several steps to tackle this crisis, including:
Prescription Drug Monitoring Program: Pennsylvania established a prescription drug monitoring program to track and regulate the prescription of controlled substances. This helps identify and prevent doctor shopping and overprescribing of opioids.
Good Samaritan Law: The state enacted a Good Samaritan Law to encourage individuals to seek help for overdose situations without fear of legal consequences. This law aims to save lives by removing barriers to calling for emergency assistance.
Naloxone Access: Pennsylvania has expanded access to naloxone, an opioid overdose reversal medication, making it available without a prescription at pharmacies and through community-based programs. This has been a crucial step in preventing opioid-related deaths.
Treatment Access Expansion: The state has been actively working to increase access to addiction treatment, including expanding Medicaid to cover more individuals in need of rehab services.
Public Awareness Campaigns: Pennsylvania has launched public awareness campaigns to reduce the stigma associated with addiction and promote understanding and empathy for those in recovery.
Reclaiming your life from the clutches of addiction is a formidable challenge, but with the right support, resources, and determination, it is undeniably achievable. Drug rehab in Pennsylvania offers a lifeline for individuals and their families, and the state's commitment to addressing the opioid epidemic is evident in its multifaceted approach.
Whether you are seeking treatment or advocating for a loved one, remember that help is available. Pennsylvania's drug rehab programs offer a spectrum of options, tailored to individual needs and circumstances. By acknowledging the challenges and barriers while celebrating the stories of recovery and resilience, we can collectively work towards a future where addiction no longer holds individuals hostage.
In Pennsylvania, the journey to recovery is marked not only by the pursuit of sobriety but also by the reclamation of hope, health, and a brighter future. Drug rehab in your area, within the Keystone State, is not just a catchphrase; it's a testament to the strength of communities, the dedication of professionals, and the unwavering belief that recovery is possible for all.

Interview with Elder Tyrone Johnson
Elder Tyrone C. Johnson, Sr. affectionately known as “God’s Ambassador to the Streets,” was born on February 25, 1956 to Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Johnson (deceased) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his primary education in Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from P.S. duPont High School in Wilmington before entering the United States Army in the Signal Company, Fifth Special Forces group in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
After an honorable discharge from the Army, Elder Ty enrolled in Central Carolina Technical College where he received a diploma in Radio/Television Broadcasting. After working at several radio stations, he became one of North Carolina’s premiere radio announcer and account executive
In 1990, Elder Ty returned to Wilmington where he founded his first non-profit organization, M&MT Productions, where a group of young men began to address the problem of substance abuse amongst youth by introducing therapeutic drama through local community centers. The group went on to introduce comedy to Delaware through its “Comedy Slam Jam” programs which featured comedians from Russell Simmons’ HBO Comedy Show. M&MT organized the first Peace on the Streets march and rally in Wilmington in collaboration with the City of Wilmington, several churches, organizations, and youth groups where over 4,000 attended at Rodney Square.
In 1991 Elder Johnson gave his life to Christ. At this time he became a member of the Eighth Street Baptist Church where he grew both spiritually and professionally. As a spin-off of his work with M&MT Productions, Elder Ty was requested by Pastor Christopher A. Bullock to coordinate the Outreach Ministry effort at Eighth Street Baptist Church.
In 1994, Elder Ty founded Churches Take A Corner (CTAC), a holistic, community-based street ministry geared towards mobilizing faith-based congregations to save souls while helping people to move from drug and alcohol addictions and violence, to Christ. This ministry has grown over the past thirteen years and now provides the following programs to communities in need: 1) Street Invasions on drug-infested corners; 2) the Transitional Housing program; 3) the Restoration through Spiritual Development (RSD) Program which is dedicated to helping men and women who are making the transition from prison to their re-entry into larger society; 4) the Intensive Outpatient Program, a DE state licensed program responds to adult needs for drug and alcohol treatment and intervention; and 5) the Alpha Program, a mentoring program for children with incarcerated parents. In 1997, Elder Ty decided to answer his call to God’s Ministry. On September 24, 1997 he delivered his first sermon titled “Blessed And Highly Favored To Win” at Eighth Street Baptist Church. At this time, the members of Eighth Street Baptist Church unanimously voted to award him his official License to Preach the Gospel Ministry.
Elder Ty has been in uninterrupted recovery from drug addiction for seventeen years and is a very spirited, honest, and hardworking member of the Wilmington community. Elder Ty and his family joined Bishop Aretha Morton and the Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Church family in 2001 where he is a member of Bishop Gregory M. Davis’s episcopal team and leads the Men’s Ministry, Evangelism Team, and Married Couples Ministry. He has been the recipient of many awards including the Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award. Elder Ty has served on many committees and boards, most notably the Governor’s Council on Corrections for the past 5 years to impact change within the State Correctional System, Alfred I. DuPont Hospital For Children Ethics Committee, and the Coalition to Build a Safer Community which studied the root causes of violence in the City of Wilmington, leading to the development of the Wilmington Hope Commission.
Elder Ty is a revered leader by the people in the general Wilmington community and throughout the State of Delaware. His mentors include preachers, politicians, community activists, and elders in the community.
Elder Ty is married to Lisa M. B. Johnson and has four children, Neva, Antione, TyLisa and Tyrone, Jr.

Looking into Drug Rehabilitation Treatments in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
A drug rehab in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a place where people with addictions can get help and encourage one another in fighting the disorder. There are three main types of treatment centers in the area, including inpatient drug rehabs or residential treatment centers. The treatments are separated by the kind of addiction a person has and also by severity of the problem.
Drug rehab in Pittsburgh can be found in several locations. There is Chester County's Behavioral Health Treatment Center, which has outpatient treatment programs for those with milder drug and alcohol addictions. Those who need inpatient treatment can check in at any of its six inpatient treatment centers. The center provides customized treatment plans, depending on the needs of the patients.
Another addiction center that provides treatment for those suffering from addiction is the Allegheny County Drug Rehab Center. This center treats not only those with addiction, but those who are close to those with it as well. This center specializes in behavioral therapy, group therapy and support group therapy. Inpatient treatment can be provided in the outpatient facility, where patients can attend classes and receive therapy on a regular basis.
One of the most comprehensive addiction treatment centers in the Pittsburgh area is the Drug rehab near Pittsburgh PA . This center offers inpatient, day and outpatient treatment for those who are suffering from addiction. The center also provides treatment for those who are close to addicts and for family members and friends of addicts.
There are a few more addiction treatment centers in the Pittsburgh area. One is Narcotics Anonymous. This is an all-inclusive treatment center that provides a 12-step program for those struggling with drug addiction. Another is New Beginnings. This center provides a similar program, but incorporates it with other activities such as yoga, exercise and meditation.
If you need to find a drug rehab near Pittsburgh PA, then you have a great selection to pick from. Be sure to do your research before making a decision. A reputable center will provide great service and will treat those who are addicted to heroin, alcohol or other drugs with dignity and respect. Aftercare is another issue to take into consideration.
It's common for aftercare to be a major issue. Not only will your loved one have a difficult time dealing with withdrawal at the drug rehab near Pittsburgh, but they will face added stress at work. If you can afford to keep them home, consider taking them home on a daycare. That way, you won't have to worry about additional stress on top of their recovery. A good rehab will understand your needs and make sure they meet them.
Don't forget to check into the financial aspect of getting a drug rehab in Pittsburgh. You will want to get the best deal possible. Keep in mind that you will have to pay for the medication, help with household chores and even staff members to help with your recovery. Even though it may cost less now, in the long run it's worth it. The cost of treatment can be a lot greater than the price of one addiction.
It's a good idea to think carefully about how far you're willing to go to get rid of your drug addiction. While you can do it on your own, there are also great programs available that can take you further than you've ever been. When it comes to searching for a drug rehab near Pittsburgh, you will find just about every type of help there is. You'll be able to live a life free of drugs, without harming your family or friends. There's no need to suffer again, start now.

Drug rehab near York PA
For anyone who has been an addict or at least thinks they are, York Pennsylvania is a good place to look for a drug rehab center. The York area is known for having a great number of drug treatment facilities and York is home to the popular drug treatment center in West Chester. This treatment center is known to treat many of the same types of people that a treatment center like Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous would. People who have addictions are looking for a place that will give them help with their addiction without them having to attend an inpatient program where they would be on their own. So many people who have addictions are on their own in terms of counseling and therapy.
Drug rehab in York can range from a full time facility to a treatment that may only last several days. When choosing a center to go to you need to make sure that you will be getting the kind of help that you need. You also need to make sure that you will not have to leave your loved ones or put them in harm's way to get help. You also need to make sure that your rehab center can handle the number of addicts that are in treatment at one time. A reputable addiction treatment center should be able to handle this.
If you need alcohol or drug addiction treatment then you should consider a center that offers treatment options that can work for you. There are centers that are able to offer both outpatient and inpatient treatment for those who have addictions. A reputable rehab will work with you whether you are in York County or in another state. You will want to choose a rehab that will treat you properly and will work with you so that you can get the help that you need.
