It was 2001. A 38-year-old pharmaceutical representative named Brenda Colleen Vise took a pregnancy test on November 5 and it showed that she was pregnant. What the pregnancy test couldn’t tell her was that her pregnancy was ectopic.

Brenda found an advertisement for Volunteer Medical Clinic in the yellow pages. She had no idea that the deceptively named facility was actually an abortion facility that was not even licensed as a clinic. In fact, VMC had been administratively dissolved by the Tennessee Secretary of State for failure to comply with applicable law since September 17, 1999.

Staff members at VMC did another pregnancy test and then an ultrasound. Although Brenda was estimated to be 6 weeks pregnant, the ultrasound did not show a baby in the uterus. This is an obvious indicator of an ectopic pregnancy, which is a medical emergency and is a contraindication to the administration of the abortion pill.

Despite the glaring indicators of a serious condition, the VMC staff told Brenda that her ultrasound was blank because the baby was “too small to be seen.” At 6 weeks pregnant, a fetus in the uterus would have been easy to see with a competent ultrasound examination.

Brenda was given the RU-486 abortion pill and sent home with a dose of Cytotec to take by herself later. The FDA has never approved Cytotec for use in pregnant women and in fact has specifically warned against using it for an abortion. In August of the year before Brenda was killed, the manufacturer of Cytotec specifically issued a letter to healthcare providers that Cytotec was contraindicated in women who are pregnant and that Cytotec was not approved for the induction of labor or abortion, and in fact should not be used in an abortion.

After she got home, Brenda called VMC about her alarming symptoms. In Brenda’s repeated calls to VMC, she was told that her symptoms were “normal and routine.”

Brenda took the Cytotec as instructed roughly 48 hours after her initial dose of Mifeprex and continued to suffer from pain and nausea. She called VMC and told them she had a sub-normal body temperature, that she was pale and that she had significant pelvic pain. Instead of telling her to go to the hospital, VMC said that all of these were normal symptoms.

Brenda called again on September 10 in an even worse condition. She was told that her symptoms were “to be expected,” and was told to travel to VMC in Knoxville for a check-up instead of immediately getting care locally. She was specifically told not to go to a local hospital because according to VMC, “no hospital in Chattanooga would have knowledge about the drugs that had been administered.”

Brenda’s boyfriend called an ambulance, which rushed Brenda to a Chattanooga hospital. Sure enough, her ectopic pregnancy ruptured because of VMC’s incompetence. The rupture led to a massive infection and collapse of her vital systems. On September 12, 2001, Brenda was completely unresponsive and in a coma. A doctor declared her condition “terminal with no reasonable medical prospect of recovery.” She died later that day.

Even if Brenda’s baby had no chance of surviving, there was no reason that Brenda had to die too. VMC killed her with their extreme incompetence and refusal to follow medical guidelines. The state also should have better enforced the shutdown of the abortion facility that was still pretending to be a medical clinic.

Karnamaya Mongar survived for about two decades in a Nepalese refugee camp. She didn’t last a day in an American abortion facility.

It was 2009. Karnamaya had just been accepted into America in July with her family. She found out she was pregnant again and likely felt overwhelmed with moving to a new country, possibly believing she wouldn’t be able to raise another baby. Unfortunately for Karnamaya, the pro-choice myth of safe abortion was advertised to her.

Another abortion facility referred Karnamaya to one that was run by Gosnell because he had a reputation for being willing to do extremely late-term abortions— sometimes even after birth. Karnamaya had no idea what she was in for.

On November 19, Karnamaya went to Gosnell’s abortion facility with her her daughter and her daughter's mother-in-law. She was given Cytotec and Restoril by the front desk and then sent to wait for her abortion in the recovery room.

Two employees with no medical qualifications administered more medications to Karnamaya. Between 3:30 and 8:00 p.m., she was dosed with five or six doses of oral medicine and repeated injections into an IV line in her hand. As usual at Gosnell's facility, no equipment was available to monitor vitals.

Karnamaya’s daughter Yoshida waited for 5 to 6 hours and was not told what drugs her mother was being given. She didn’t know that Gosnell’s unqualified and unlicensed employees gave repeated injections of concoctions of sedatives that that Gosnell referred to as a “twilight” dose. Each of these “twilight” doses, repeated an untracked number of times by unlicensed workers, contained a blend of 75 milligrams of Demerol, 12.5 milligrams of promethazine and 7.5 milligrams of diazepam.

This was the chart made by a 15-year-old child laborer that showed what went into each dose at the Gosnell facility.

Gosnell's untrained staff gave repeated doses of sedatives and painkillers without regard to a woman's size or weight whenever it was deemed necessary by the untrained staff. For example, if a client started moaning, she was presumed to be in pain and would be given another large dose of drugs. Karnamaya, at only 4'11" in height and 110 lb. in weight, would have been in serious danger from the correct dose for average-sized women, much less by the massive doses administered at Women's Medical Society. (Actually, the facility hadn’t bothered to measure her height and weight.)

Karnamaya was taken to the procedure room, put on the operating table and drugged by someone completely unqualified again, this time with the facility's "custom" dose of 75 mg. of Demerol, 12.5 mg. of promethazine, and 10 mg. of diazepam. The heavily drugged Karnamaya was then left unattended with no monitoring equipment.

Detectives were told by one of the employees(Sherry West) that some time after re-sedating Karnamaya, the last employee who had drugged her(Lynda Williams) came out of the procedure room yelling for help. West said that when she later entered the procedure room, Gosnell was there trying to perform CPR on Karnamaya. Williams summoned Eileen O’Neill, an unlicensed medical school graduate who worked at the clinic, from her office on the second floor. O'Neill told the Grand Jury that she thought Karnamaya was already dead by the time she got to the procedure room, but she took over administering CPR because Gosnell was doing it wrong.

Gosnell, meanwhile, left and came back with the facility’s only “crash cart”, which was actually just a kit. After returning with the kit, Gosnell did not use any of the medicine in it to try to save Karnamaya. Instead he just looked through them and seemed pleased that they were up to date. He seemed purely interested in keeping outsiders from finding out that the crash kit had been nowhere near the filthy operating room when clients were being sedated.

O’Neill testified that Gosnell told her not to administer any Narcan, a drug that possibly could have reversed the effects of the Demerol. She said that Gosnell told her it would not work on Demerol. O’Neill also said that she tried to use the defibrillator to revive Karnamaya only to find out that it didn’t even work.

Sometime after 11 p.m. – long after O’Neill decided that Karnamaya was dead and returned to her office – Lynda Williams finally asked 15-year-old employee Ashley Baldwin to call 911. Ashley went into the procedure room and found Gosnell alone with his dead patient. He told Ashley to get the pulse oximeter, which they should have been using all along to monitor Karnamaya's pulse and blood oxygen. This surprised Ashley because Gosnell knew that the pulse oximeter had been broken for months.

The ambulance didn’t get there until 11:13. They found Karnamaya lifeless in the procedure room and Gosnell just standing there not doing anything to help her. The paramedics immediately intubated Karnamaya to give her oxygen, and started an intravenous line to administer emergency medications (since for some reason the staff had removed the IV line they'd been using all day to drug their patient). The facility neglected to tell the paramedics about all the drugs they had administered to Karnamaya that day.

But it didn’t stop there. The paramedics were able to restore a very weak pulse, but getting Karnamaya to the ambulance was needlessly and dangerously time-consuming because the emergency exit was locked. Gosnell sent Ashley to the front desk to look for the key, but she couldn’t find it. Ashley later told the grand jury that a firefighter needed to cut the lock, but “It took him [20 minutes]… because the [lock] is old.”

After cutting the locks, responders had to waste even more time struggling to maneuver through the cramped hallways that could not even accommodate a stretcher.

When the ambulance arrived at the hospital after midnight, Karnamaya had no blood pressure, no pulse and was not breathing. After aggressive resuscitation efforts, doctors were able to restore a weak heartbeat. Karnamaya was then sent to the ICU, where she was on life support until family members could make the trip from Virginia to say goodbye. She was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. on November 20 2009 from a massive drug overdose. An employee from the facility later testified that Karnamaya was turning gray and in severe pain before she died.

At the time, legal abortion facilities in the state were almost completely unregulated because of lax abortion laws, which were so permissive that Gosnell had already killed Semika Shaw and babies born alive and hadn’t been investigated for any of those deaths yet.

My Birth Story

“All I saw were lights & having the will to see my daughter.”

On Wednesday July 10th, 2019 we had a Cytotec set up to help induce labor. I was already 3 days past due & wanted more than anything for her to be here. We went in at 11 AM and they did the first Cytotec. They sent us home a few hours later with no change. So Thursday July 11th, 2019 we went back at 6 AM for induction with Pitocin.

We got to the hospital and were set up in our labor & delivery room. My mom, sister & fiancé were all there in the room with me. They started the Pitocin & the contractions quickly began to get stronger but manageable. Prior to being induced I had started having mild contractions on my own clear back to Tuesday night — so I had already been having contractions for what felt like forever and getting no where. After being on Pitocin all day my body had not progressed at all. My doctor decided to stop Pitocin for the night & let me “rest”. She decided to Cytotec me every 4 hours to help thin my cervix. In the morning they checked me again and I hadn’t done much or gotten any rest. I went from a finger tip to 1 cm. Around 7 AM they started Pitocin again. Getting the epidural went well and not as painful as people had told me — so that was a plus! Once I received my epidural I started to dilate quicker. By 5 PM I was at a 5/6 and by 9 PM I was at 7cm. But at 10 PM I started having the worst contractions and realized my epidural was no longer working. The anesthetist came in 3 times before realizing that I was in fact not receiving any meds & the clip on the tubing had sprung a leak and was leaking all over my bed sheets. In the middle of him realizing this I had become tachycardic and my baby was showing signs of distress. They diagnosed me with Pre Eclampsia and decided the safest option was to deliver immediately. So around 11 PM on July 12th, 2019 I was wheeled into the OR for an emergency C-section. I told my doctor to get her out before midnight so she could have the same birthday as her brother (dog), Pongo, who had turned 1 that day! When they got me in the OR and pushed more meds they made me so sick and I threw up for what felt like my entire surgery! But, she was born at 11:51 PM on July 12th, 2019 & shares a birthday with her big brother!! They stitched me up and took me back to my L&D room for skin to skin. I immediately started telling my nurse that I felt like there was a lot of bleeding but was told it was “normal”. I must’ve said it 10 times but no one was listening. After about an hour they took me to my Maternity room. Vincent was holding the baby on the couch and I remember looking over at them and thinking how lucky I was. My nurse was getting me all situated when I started to lose consciousness. I remember seeing stars and then nothing. I heard people telling me to open my eyes and stay awake but I couldn’t. I had no control of my body. When they finally got my BP back up the nurse asked if I wanted to try breast feeding again. Just as she was about to hand me my baby girl I felt like it was going to happen again. I told her I thought it was happening again and she put the baby down and called everyone back in the room. When I woke the second time the doctor was in the room saying I was hemmoraghing and needed to go back to surgery right away.

Despite me saying I felt like there was way too much bleeding my hemmoraghing went undiagnosed for hours. Just before going back to the OR I had to sign a paper that gave permission that if a full hysterectomy was needed my doctor could do it. All I saw were lights & the will to see my daughter. When I woke from anesthesia the first thing I asked was if I could still have kids — and my mom told me yes, that Emmy would have brothers and sisters. However, me being on drugs went “the f*** she will”. I become a jokester when on anesthesia. But, the morphine they gave me for my C-section had made me so itchy I was begging for my family to itch my body. But also cracking jokes —they took videos 🤦🏼‍♀️. I found out that they only had to do a D&C as well. They finally got me back to my Maternity room and I was hooked up to all these machines and had 3 IVs in my hands. I couldn’t even hold my baby.

I don’t remember much after that from the medications but they gave me another blood transfusion after my D&C to make sure my blood count was good. That was my 2nd transfusion after hemmoraghing. They watched me all weekend to make sure my vitals stabilized and then Saturday night my blood count tanked again. My hemoglobin was a 3. So they gave me a third transfusion and kept me an extra 2 days in the hospital. They also did a CT scan of my abdomen to check for more clots — which there was but they were hopeful it would expel itself.

Sunday was the first day I was able to get out of bed and shower since Thursday. It was the best shower of my life! I finally started to feel a bit better after everything that had gone on. But I was still under watchful eye. They kept me in the hospital until Tuesday and they felt my blood counts were in a safe range to go home. I was finally released Tuesday afternoon & got to take my baby girl home.

My blood pressure was still a little high so I had to go in for a follow up BP check in one week. The following Tuesday my BP check was normal and they said I was healing good.

I am 2 weeks PP today & doing really well considering what I went through. I have not let what happen make or break me. What I have learned is to be my own advocate when something feels wrong. If my story could do one thing I hope it gives women a voice for themselves when they feel like something is wrong & to not lose your voice.

That’s not pain meds. That’s cytotec, and it’s really useful not just in elective abortion but in the medical management of a spontaneous miscarriage and in inducing labor at the end of pregnancy. To obstetricians, this drug can be as vital as penicillin.

And? It’s also the drug that has allowed me good mental health for the first time in my life by cancelling the GI side effects of my psych drugs.

If we win big this November, we might be able to get a national right to abortion law. If we lose, we might just get a national BAN. Vote like your life depends on it even if you don’t have a uterus, because it just might.

Banning pain meds because they are abortion adjacent is brutal and vile.

Abortion Clinics Are Not Safer; A Compilation

TRIGGER WARNING: Some of these contain murder, botched abortions and other gory things. But, abortion is a gory business so quite frankly if you’re going to support the abortion industry you should probably know exactly what it does.

If you skip this, I do not blame you. These articles can have some very triggering content.

 However, if you can’t stomach reading the articles, maybe you shouldn’t support the industry. There are many more cases such as these that are not reported, and I’m sure many are much worse. 

Also, I literally got these from a quick Google search. Over 11 different stories, even more sources, and I’m not even done!! There’s more!! I’m just trying not to clutter up everyone’s dashboard with a super long post lol.

More Abortion Clinics Face Suspension Over Health Codes

On April 9, ABC Philadelphia news reported that two former nurses at the Planned Parenthood of Delaware abortion facility quit their jobs, citing unsafe, unsanitary conditions, and “a meat-market style of assembly-line abortions.”

On May 29, Jayne Mitchell-Werbrich and Joyce Vasikonis testified before the Delaware state senate. They referred to the clinic conditions as “ridiculously unsafe” and noted that women were at risk for hepatitis and AIDS.

[ . . . ] two of the highest volume Planned Parenthood abortion facilities (Far Northeast and Elizabeth Blackwell Center, both in Philadelphia) in Pennsylvania failed inspection. Inspectors found that both facilities were improperly storing fetal remains – in undated bags at Elizabeth Blackwell Center, and unpreserved in a janitor’s closet at Far Northeast. They also discovered unsanitary implements, including unused syringes and needles that had been removed from their packaging. At Elizabeth Blackwell Center there were dark stains on the carpet and on a bench in a patient area.

[ . . .] abortionist Kermit Gosnell was found guilty of the murder of three newborn children and the negligent death of one patient. He had been charged with eight counts of murder including seven babies who were born alive and then killed with scissors. Prosecutors said that he made millions of dollars over 30 years, performing as many illegal, late-term abortions as he could.

In May, Operation Rescue released a report revealing that 3 former staff members of the Aaron Women’s Clinic in Houston had come forward with evidence of horrific late term abortions conducted by abortionist Douglas Karpen. The informants provided photographic evidence (taken on their cell phones) of illegal late-term abortions. The photos depicted two babies aborted well beyond Texas’ legal limit of 24 weeks. Their necks had been cut. The physical condition of the babies revealed that they had likely been born alive and then subsequently killed. Testimony from the former workers indicated that Dr. Karpen was committing both very late term abortions and infanticide. Patients would be administered doses of Cytotec, a drug that causes strong and unpredictable uterine contractions, to induce labor, and then he would proceed with the abortion.“When he did an abortion, especially an over 20 week abortion, most of the time the fetus would come completely out before he cut the spinal cord, or he introduced one of the instruments into the soft spot of the fetus in order to kill the fetus,” stated former surgical assistant Deborah Edge. According to Edge, this was a common occurrence.

Steven Chase Brigham’s Fairfax, VA facility remained closed as of June 2 after an April inspection in which “unsanitary equipment, expired medication and failure to maintain equipment or follow proper patient care protocols” were discovered.

Nova Women’s Health Center, the busiest abortion clinic in Virginia, closed when its lease was terminated via a lawsuit by the property owners on the grounds that the abortion clinic created a public nuisance. According to the lawsuit filings, Nova patients were regularly inside the building “lying down in corridors…and, in some instances, even vomiting.” One filing said witnesses would testify that this was a daily occurrence. Previously in 2007, the state Board of Health reported evidence of negligence and abuse at Nova Women’s Health Center clinic including: failing to provide follow-up care, keeping inadequate records, and improperly handling and dispensing drugs. Abortionist Mi Yong Kim was forced to surrender her medical license, but continued to operate the clinic.

Itai Gravely, a 26-year-old woman, filed suit against the Women’s Health Center of West Virginia and abortionist Rodney Lee Stephens after Stephens allegedly forced Ms. Gravely to proceed with an abortion against her will and then left her dead baby’s head inside her womb. Gravely changed her mind about the abortion after adequate anaesthesia could not be administered. Stephens ordered clinic workers to physically restrain Ms. Gravely as he proceeded with the abortion. The next day, Ms. Gravely was rushed to the emergency room where it was discovered that dismembered body parts of her child had been left in her womb.

The New Woman All Women abortion facility in Birmingham sent three women with botched abortions to the hospital. Paramedics had to hand-lift a partially clad woman through a narrow doorway and down several steps because the building did not have a gurney-accessible entrance. The Alabama Department of Public Health issued a 76-page deficiency report citing the following among other violations.

Clinic staff was not properly trained to provide safe quality patient care.

Failure to have policy and procedures related to medication administering and errors. This resulted in the hospitalization of three abortion patients on January 21, 2012, with one patient placed in ICU.

There was no documentation that the two abortionists employed by Derzis were even qualified to do abortions.

Abortionists made illegible notations on patient charts, which made determining critical information about patient care impossible.

In several cases, the notes about patient care and conditions were completely false.

On July 20, 24-year-old Tonya Reaves died following a second-trimester abortion at a Chicago Planned Parenthood. Autopsy results reveal that Ms. Reaves died as a result of a hemorrhage following a botched surgical abortion. The autopsy reported that she was a healthy woman at the time of her abortion but that she suffered an “extensive” perforation of her broad uterine ligament with a possible severing of her left uterine artery as a result of the abortion procedure. The autopsy also revealed that the abortion was incomplete as the medical examiner discovered that pieces of placenta had been left attached to her womb, despite the dilation and evacuation (D & E) abortion performed by Planned Parenthood. Reports indicate that Planned Parenthood ignored instructions by an emergency dispatcher to call 911.

So I don’t mean to be blunt or anything, but tbh I am not looking into entering discourse with you.
