Uhm, ilfil.

Been a while since I wrote in this blog. Kali ini, tentang kekecewaan. AFAIK, gue sudah sepedahan dari 2016 dengan Brompton. Cukup lama, memang. Switch ke full bike sekitar awal pandemi, atau tahun 2020. Setahun berselang, ada sebuah event yang dinamakan ultra race di Indonesia.

Ultra. Istilah yang baru kala itu. Bersepeda ribuan kilometer atau paling dangkal, 250km. Event-nya sendiri cukup menarik, dan menantang tentunya. Dari 2021, gue aiming untuk bisa ada di dalamnya. Tapi, terkendala pekerjaan baru, dan lain hal. Belum siap intinya.

Tahun 2024 ini, masuk seri ke-4. Karena event-nya sendiri dihajat tiap tahun. Cus, beranikan diri buat daftar. Tujuannya, ya, ikut di dalamnya untuk aktualisasi diri. Bonusnya, kalau finish bisa dikenal banyak orang, seperti para peserta yang sudah pernah 'beresin' event itu. Harapan gue, cuan mengiringi.

Kondisi finansial gue pada saat ini memang tidak begitu baik. Sejak kena layoff dari sebuah start-up -yang kemudian gue anggap sebagai kesalahan terbesar karena bekerja di sana- gue masih belum dapat kerja. Satu tahun sudah.

Memang, ada kerjaan freelance yang -cukuplah- bisa menyambung dompet. Lumayan, masih bisa beli-beli sendiri. Walaupun sekarang harus hidup dengan uang 250 ribu per 2 minggu. Sangat beda dengan isi dompet ketika masih kerja di ISP.

Nah tujuan lain ikut event ini adalah, cuan. Gue berupaya supaya bisa finish. Dengan cita-cita, ada endorsement masuk seperti orang-orang yang gue kenal sebagai alumnus event itu. Siapa, sih yang nggak mau bisa dapat uang dari hobi yang dicintai?

Tapi sayang, ternyata ada persyaratan yang sepertinya mengganjal jalan gue untuk ikut event itu. Yaitu tentang bersepeda lebih dari 250km per minggu. Memang, jarak total sepedahan gue dalam seminggu sudah sangat berkurang dari tahun sebelumnya. Kalau dulu, 250km pasti achieved, atau paling tidak, bisa diusahakan achieved. Bisa dibilang, gue sudah mempersiapkan fisik dan mental sejak 2021 dengan gowes jauh-jauh mandiri. Bahkan, sempat menolak beberapa ajakan untuk gowes bareng.

Kendalanya, apalagi kalau bukan uang. Yap, sepedahan juga butuh modal. Paling nggak buat jajan di jalan. Semakin jauh sepedahannya, semakin besar modalnya.

Padahal, selama setahun belakangan, uang gue dibelanjain buat persiapan ikut event. Sebut saja tas, rest bar, bib, rotor, rain jacket, BB, rantai, dan perintilan lain. Itupun masih kurang brake pad, bib cargo, jersey, dan tas frame bag. Well, belum dihitung seperti trial-error bike fit, beli sadel dan dropbar yang lebih sesuai. Untuk kekurangannya, gue sudah siap menjual satu-satunya set velg mobil yang masih gue punya. Sekalian untuk biaya daftar, dan operasional selama event.

Tapi Allah punya maksud lain. Pupus sudah harapan gue untuk bisa membuktikan diri, membuat bangga bokap, anak dan istri, dan dapat uang dari endorsement. Ya, kalau memang nanti -apabila memang ditakdirkan bisa masuk jadi peserta- tidak dapat endorsement, paling tidak gue bisa bangun lagi channel Youtube yang saat ini sudah tidak bisai di-monetize lagi. Nah, inilah salah satu penyesalan gue nerima kerjaan dari start-up seperti yang gue mention di atas.

Ya, sudahlah. Sekarang tinggal berdamai dengan perasaan kecewa, aja. Perasaan yang mirip seperti nembak cewek tapi ditolak. Paham kan? Ilfil. Sepertinya gue hilang feeling sama dunia sepedahan. Dunia yang memang beberapa kali 'menyelamatkan' gue dari kebangkrutan.
