GAHDGHSbreakdown time let’s go let’s gooo. this is gna be everything besides bobby bc he deserves his own ask KSJDKSJD. first of all MELISSA that’s my girlboss stem queen i absolutely loved her growth and this whole coding thing what my girl deserves also recognizing those ex friends were toxic and the new group of them w jess sasha and elena hellooo. kinda wish jess got more of a role considering she was such a big part of s1 but alas..... LOVED elena’s growth too i will say the shitting on her mom felt kinda off like that felt too harsh for her ? i think it could’ve been talked ab more but i’m glad they agreed to trust each other and established boundaries. ok listen the second joey took her speech i just knew he was gna steal it i’m glad she’s finally over him but it felt kinda random how he showed up only at that moment ? anyways emilio my boy literally him literally them let’s go ‼️‼️ the number of poc in this show makes me 💗💖💞 sasha and claude was pretty cute i’m glad she has someone and the whole play thing i enjoyed she deserves a spotlight moment yk ! OH gabi & sam i thought were handled great them figuring out living together and parenting it was messy but like ofc it was idk it felt realistic ! ok that’s all i can think of next ask is ab the gay stuff FHSGDHS

ok let's get into detail... honestly melissa new bestie, let's start with that. literally carried elena's entire campaign, grew as a person, apologized (let's not gloss over that!) and got presented as a three dimensional character. it's a win in my book. yeah, it felt a little bit out of character for elena to lash out against her mom like that but I think they wanted her to make mistakes and learn how to make up for them. also, they wanted to depict a certain dynamic in their mother-daughter relationship and I think it was overall very well done, especially gabi. joey was such an afterthought, they just needed him to make room for emilio. we already know elena and him are in love, let's not kid anyone here. not to sound like a mom talking about their child's boyfriend or something but he seems really nice. I think we need to see more of him, though. I don't want him to feel like a plot device like jada. they could've done a little bit more with her. gabi and sam are icons for the cishet community. like, they actually made it work, made it look cute. I enjoyed their scenes so much, I don't know what else to say. they really had such a good storyline this season as well, continually grew as individuals and a couple. it was just fun to see. actually love them a lot.

hi! *big oof* Honestly, I don’t think we’ll see more seasons for FDTD. For a couple of reasons, which I’ll go into, but back in 2016 when they released the actors from their contracts, El Rey said it would be only a couple of years if they brought it back . . . and that was in 2016, so the odds aren’t great. But onto some other reasons:

First, they actually managed to write several female empowerment stories which attracted a huge female audience . . . which R*bert R*driguez didn’t intend to happen for his machismo network (El Rey). 

Secondly, whether it was unintentional or not, many of the female fans actively shipped Seth and Kate (who wouldn’t), but there’s a very big difference between using fanfiction to explore inappropriate age gaps from a distance and actually having a significant age gap be represented on television. Madison Davenport really was only 18 when the show first aired. In other shows where they have an “age gap”, the actors themselves are really only a handful of years apart. When the show aired, DJ was 34 . . . So unless they time jump and have an older actor to replace Kate, I think it’d get a little icky . . . 

(but these are my thoughts, feel free to argue!)

As for the characters themselves, I’d like to think everybody’s found their beach with that agave blue ocean <3
