I just really need to say that I think Vulcans are neat
by far my biggest critique of TNG is the lack of Vulcans

ramblings
Woke up to the sound an emergency alert on my phone. it was a tornado warning! I've seen maybe 2 of those in my life. A big storm swept through and there is another due tonight:
I get really sad with this takes down large trees. It's like a wise and ancient force has left this world.
==
overheard while watching an old cubs broadcaast from 1982: "Too big to be a man and not quite big enough to be a horse." The guy in question was 6'7 and 315 pounds. (sounds dreamy tbh)
==
watched that TNG episode where Riker temporarily transfers to the Klingon ship. That one always makes me anxious.
*now kiss*
==
this is more for the fandom side, but i'm curious what tumblr fanfic readers like to read. it's so hard to tell because, while likes are appreciated, i have no idea what people respond to, what makes them like something?

30 Questions Challenge!
I was tagged by the Queen herself @freak-nasty-thick-dick-mando 😊 and I need a moment to decompress so I decided to do this tag!
Nickname: Jen, J Cat, Catty by one managers at work, he thought that was my actual name and you know what...it fits. I wish my nickname was Jay tho but meh
Gender: I'm a Cis Gender female, she/her
Star sign : I'm a Taurus in every sense of the word, also a Virgo moon, and a Gemini rising
Height: I thought I was 5' 3"...but I might be taller? Idk I'm not tall tho I am short.
Time: 6:30 pm est
Birthday: May 15th 1989
Favorite Bands: Tool and every offshoot of said band Dave Matthews Band when I'm in that mood (they are a vibe), System of a Down when I'm lifting. No Doubt has been my jam since 6th grade (back when Gwen had her braces and pink hair! Her solo stuff is....eeeeh.)
Favorite Solo artist: Florence and the Machine is my life, Doja Cat, Cardi B, Ashnikko is a new favorite, pretty much point out a Female MC and I love them.
Song stuck in your head: Montero by Lil Nas X. It slaps.
Last Movie: I rewatched End Game cuz I'm going through a Chris Evans moment guys. Ooof he's dreamy.
Last Show: The Office. Always at all times. Unless My 600 lb life is on, I cant stop watching it, and I root for them i really do.
When did I create this blog: oh man, I think 2012? I came her for Sherlock sooooooooo yeah. Its been a minute 😅
What i post: once in a blue moon a fic, but mostly reblogs of things I find delightful, and typically Pedro Pascal is involved
Last thing I Googled: 6 points of ID for Jersey, uuuugh I have a DMV appt tomorrow...sooo stressed about it.
Other Blogs: none. I dont even have time for this one lol
Do I get asks: rarely, but they're always appreciated

Average hours of sleep: Oh God, like 5-6 if I'm lucky.
Lucky number: 7
Instrument: I played the clarinet in 5th grade. Sucked at it.
What I'm wearing: Victoria's Secret leggings (that are caked in cat hair) and a cool cat shirt that i got from a local tattoo shop
Dream Job: Museum Tour Guide for an archeology/anthropology museum, or specifically the College of Physicians Mütter Museum in Philly, look it up if you dare. Dr. Mütter was a 19th century surgeon who helped pioneer radical ideas like; recovery rooms, anesthesia, washing your hands ect, and took a deep interest in helping the people who were medical oddities or suffered with deformity that other doctors didn't want to help. Its amazing, I wanna work there, but its...19th century oddities so...yeah. Google if you want but it gets icky.

Last Book: last book I finished was Island of Sea Women by Lisa See, man...I highly recommend. Any of her work really, but DAMN. its good.
Top three fictional universes i wanna live in: Star Wars (Clone Wars/Mandalorian specifically), Star Trek TNG would be cool, MCU.

been watching Star Trek TNG s5...
and it's just such a nice show... probably my comfort show. I found it for streaming online since I don't have the subscription. I left off in season 5 while it was on n-flix and it was easy to find my place again.
first one I watched was "The Perfect Mate" which, first of all, stars the preternaturally elegant Famke Janssen. (link to the Wikipedia page for the episode) Kamala is an empath and she uses her ability to sense others emotions to become the perfect complement to any man she spends time with. First she kisses Riker (because obv) but then she's chaperoned around by Data and flirts with Worf (loved that). But then she spends time with Picard and they kind of slowly fall in love and she ends up accidentally bonding with him instead of her intended husband. And then she leaves. I just think that Patrick Stewart is an amazing actor and I love that he had this amazing romantic story with a woman whom he barely has any physical contact with. It was so bittersweet. I loved it.
it also immediately spawned an AU idea which I would probably end up doing for QuiAni since they are my brain rot right now.
I was also moved by "The Next Phase" to wonder if anyone had ever written Geordi/Ro Laren and I could not find it! the only tagged slash fic for them on AO3 has them in a crossover fic with someone else. I can imagine there either being untagged/incorrectly tagged fic or it remaining on another fic archive.
but I'm kind of stunned that there's nothing. in that episode, they're both put 'out of phase' with the normal sensing world, no one can see or touch them. but they can see and touch each other which leads to a electric moment where they reach out hands and touch them mid-air like this:🙏
and I thought maybe they could have sex about it. no dice.
then I watched "The Inner Light" and just... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I cried so much about that one. good grief. it was great. that's the kind of sci-fi I really enjoy.

I wasn't super into "The Game" but one of my favorite Troi lines is in that episode: "I never met a chocolate I didn't like."
I also like Wesley and Data so seeing them shine was fun. It was an intense episode. Ashley Judd in a guest role was a delight as well. Otherwise... I had to look up the synopsis. I didn't remember this one.
And First Duty is another Wesley epsiode! He's on trial with his team after a deadly accident. He has to decide to tell the truth... My favorite thing was probably the first look we got at Robert Duncan McNeill who later went on to play Tom Paris.
These were both tense episodes but not otherwise very memorable for me aside from what I mentioned.
Is Wesley your favorite character? ☺
