A Character You Can Relate to in Any Way? Otoya, I guess. I’m not exactly sure on how I should put it, though.

A Character That You Think Deserved More Love? Eiichi, definitely. I know he’s messed up a lot and I don’t agree with what he did, but it’s (not really but it’s there) simple to see he means well. I know what it’s like to do something I thought as good but ended up hurting someone else through it, which in turn hurt me. He had good intentions, but went with them the wrong way. I do understand why people feel so upset and angry towards him; in a way, he has been shown in a bad light. Then again, HEAVENS in general during their very first appearance in Season 2 were depicted to be like the main villains of the series. Then again, that’s probably just me overanalyzing again. Sorry for the rambling ;w:

A Character You Would Want as Your Partner/Lover? Haruka. Just Haruka. Let me smooch.

A Character You Would Want as Your Mentor/Senpai? Reiji! I mean, he’s Reiji. And maybe Cesshi. Or Masato. Maybe Camus if I’m allowed to make fun of him.

Your Favorite Ship? NatsuCam. Such a rare pair. Like, a really fucking rare pair. Most of the content for it is mine. Haha ;w;

A Character You Want to Cosplay/Have Already Cosplayed? I’d like to try Cesshi, but I don’t know if my skin’s dark enough for that so I don’t wanna risk any chances. An alternative may be Natsuki, but then I’d be a short kinda chubby-looking Natsuki. Kira’d be nice too though! But I’m probably a little too expressive for him;;; Nagi’d be a nice fit as well, I dunno :3

Favorite Side Character? I’m not really sure if Satsuki counts as a side character since he really only shows up during Natsuki-centered episodes. If not him, then Tomochika! She. Just she.

Your Favorite Solo Song? I found myself enjoying Cesshi’s solo songs a lot. Destiny Song really brings me in. Brand New Melody has a lil something to it that makes me really happy though. I don’t know what it is, but it gives me a nice feeling inside. I also really like SUKIxSUKI Hanamaru and Hatsukoi o Mata Hajimeyou!! Those are both really nice songs that make me feel really fluffy happy inside >w<! And Melting of Snow. And Hurrayx2 Dreamers. And there’s a lot of solo songs I like. Oops.

Your Favorite Duet Song? North Wind and SunShine. I just really like that song. Like, that was the duet song my mind really stuck onto when I first started playing SL. I got attached.

Favorite Drama CD? Lycoris no Mori. Shit. That was. Made me remember that Vocaloid song The Wolf Who Fell in Love with Little Red Riding Hood. Also Black Hood Cesshi. Evil boi. Just doing evil spirit boi things. Kinda caused people to murder along the way but it’s okay because in the end he’s probably still dancing over their dead bodies in the woods. Also wolf Randolph Toki red-nosed bitch. Randolph sounds really close to Rudolph, don’tcha agree? And Blood Otoya. Or Brad Otoya. Or whatever. Your Favorite Song Beatmap? Any of the ones with slide notes. Like, a lot of them. Also just any really difficult song I somehow manage to FC on the first couple tries. Like I remember there was one song for an event I was playing in only to get more LP where there was like a fuck ton of notes. I forgot if if was 800 or 900, but there were a lot. And I managed to FC it first try. Haha whoops ;w;

Your Least Favorite Song Beatmap? Nothing really comes to mind except for the lower difficulty ones. When you play a lot of Pro songs, the lower ones just kinda get boring.

Black Dejavu or White Gravity? White Gravity definitely. I can’t believe Masato said “lol bye” and joined the Kawaii and Royal Groups. Also, Natsuki’s high notes. They told him to do it twice and he said “okay :D”. I know it has a more uniform(?) singing distribution and order, but that just personally fits me and my ears better :3

UtaPri Merch That You Own/Watch? I have a Prince Cat of Citron!! And a Natsuki face towel that came along with him. I wanna get either Lime or Aqua next, but I can’t choose who. Lime because second best boi, Aqua because third best boi and shipping reasons. Also, you ever follow accounts that have Prince Cats of different sizes and have them act out as if they’re like a lil family? I want that life. Like, there’s one I follow on Twitter with Rosso and Cielo and Iris and Arancia and Verde and a lil Aqua as their child and I adore them. They use emojis to represent who’s talking and the lil Aqua’s emoji is a lollipop it’s just so cute ;-;. . .

How did You Get into UtaPri? Shining Live. I saw that Klab had another idol rhythm game on the app store and went “Why not? I haven’t had one with guydols yet?” and look where we are now;;;

A Set Theme in Shining Live That You Want to See in the Future? I’ve been having a bunch of gacha set and event ideas on a note on my phone. Like street dancer, fairytales, zodiac, zookeeper, cyber, and seven deadly sins/four horsemen as gacha ideas (some I already made art concepts for;;;). And for events, I got carhop, first date kinda thing, and ice/figure skating. In short, I want a lot :3

Why Do You Love Your Best Boy? At first, it was because he adores cute things and I adore cute things and he’s cute so I adore him. After learning more about him, I do see more similarities between the two of us. The feeling of being betrayed and growing defensive because of it, his defense being Satsuki and mine is trying to use words to help me. The need to grow stronger to not be seen as a burden, to try and not rely and depend on others to fight our battles for us. There’s probably more I can dwell upon, but that’s all I can think about for now.

I haven’t done one of these for a good while but what we are going to do here is a post that covers the Shuffle Units rankings and then the Mini-Album and Movie Single for HEAVENS. One thing I have thought about that contributed to the final shuffle “bombing” by the standard of not being a top 10 from the jump is to remember a few things 1.  “Anthem for the Angel” was coming out not long after this CD dropped AND 2.  “The Champion” for Manterou was coming out within this period and given how popular THAT GROUP is in the realm of HypMic it stands to reason that they are going to be able to put a sizable dent in the sales if there is crossover between the fandoms because most people will want to buy the CD from the group that won the battle season.  In this case I can wholeheartedly get WHY the last Shuffle didn’t do so well One thing we CAN say though (and this is interesting) is that WITH QN in the shuffle project it kind of helped the sales a bit because we have to remember that that foursome is arguably the most popular of the 3 units right now so it stands to reason that those fans would buy the CDs to support them.  I also wonder if within that group in Japan there are fans of QN that are very supportive of HEAVENS (actually from what I can tell on twitter there are fans of Syo that do a lot of HEAVENS fan art so I might have answered my own question there) I think one of the reasons that “Feather in the Hand” did well was because that threesome was arguably NOT going to be that big a “drama” (and that might have helped “colorful spark” in a way because the fanart just from the synopsis was actually very cute and it didn’t have as much drama as I was expecting to see based off of S2...honestly looking back on the Season 4 duets I still think Syo and Nagi should have been paired from the Jump but then who you would have paired Yama with would have been an issue...I’d of done Natsuki and Yama I think but that’s just me All in all though at this point (at least from where I sit) the Shuffles didn’t do “bad” and you could say this was a bigger success than say...the “Duet Project” and it was also interesting to see how with QN involved how much longer there was a song in the top 10 than without or at the very least in Tokiya’s case how much harder it was to BE in the top 10 But this is just the Shuffle Projects...NOW we get to Anthem and “Secret Shangri-La” FIRST...”Anthem” “Anthem for the Angel (Release Date:  3/13/2019) 3/12/19 - #10 3/13/19 - #8 (up 2 spots) 3/14/19 - #9 (down 1 spot) 3/15/19 - #7 (up 2 spots) 3/16/19 - #15 (down 8 spots) 3/17/19 - #19 (down 4 spots) 3/18/19 - #14 (up 5 spots) The Secret Shangri-La (Release Date:  4/3/2019) 4/2/19 - #8 4/3/19 - #9 (down 1 spot) 4/4/19 - #8 (up 1 spot) 4/5/19 - #8 4/6/19 - #10 (down 2 spots) 4/7/19 - #19 (down 9 spots) 4/8/19 - #11 (up 8 spots) 4/9/19 - #29 (down 18 spots) Alright...THIS IS INTERESTING Now looking at these we can look “half empty” or “half full” because these kind of results allow us to do that BOTH CDS MADE THE TOP 10 so that is a positive and Anthem nearly made a top 5 like “HEAVEN SKY” did so again that is a positive. Its another positive to say that NEITHER CD debuted high and then just plummeted like “HEAVEN SKY” did when that debuted at #5 and then fell off the face of all creation! A “negative” way to look at this is that neither CD made the top 5 (or top 3) so that can be looked at as a disappointment and it can lead to this question “what the hell is going on here?!” The best answer I can give you...and this is speculation can be attributed both to the popularity (or maybe perceived LACK of popularity) and maybe also the “timing”? Like okay (and we can do this with the shuffles too) let’s try this The purposes of the shuffles and the HEAVENS Movie Single (in my mind) should be to fill out what we hear in the movie.  I don’t THINK they are gonna do the full songs in the Movie so if that is the case then having the shuffles and the Movie Single out NOW is kind of “Bass Ackwards” because you might get disappointed if you don’t hear the full song.  Now if we assume the movie is going to be 3 hours or so then its possible but they might have other songs to perform outside of just the shuffles and the movie singles you know?  Heck...we MIGHT finally get to hear the solos for HEAVENS in the Movie when it comes to the S4 duets (I’m hoping against hope here because yes I am still salty “Dreamer” didn’t get played at 6th stage) so there is that It is interesting to observe this stuff as a fan.reporter because one thing I notice is on twitter there are A LOT of cosplayers/artists that do HEAVENS stuff and most are from the “country of origin” but maybe the group is still “too new” (I doubt that seriously) for them.  Like for HEAVENS right now they are in the “growing stages” where they have a radio show ,their own shop now and they are getting singles and so forth.  Like Broccoli is taking chances with them but I think for some (at least in the western fandom) they might not be doing ENOUGH which is the important thing to think about (and the whole thing with the movie poster is disrespectful af in my mind because it shows just how low on the totem pole they think of them but that’s my opinion). What is really going to be interesting is “Post movie” what will Broccoli do with them (HEAVENS) in terms of making them even MORE LIKABLE especially in the West where the fandom is predominantly STARISH or QN fans.  To me that is the struggle now. One thing that COULD have helped out HEAVENS is having the Dolce Vita game out now but its not so we have to figure out the next move to see what Broccoli is going to do here.  The reason I am focusing more on HEAVENS with this is because Broccoli pretty much as STARISH and QN locked in so they are fine but its figuring out where HEAVENS fits with the movie ,maybe Shining Live and any other projects they want to put them in.  I still think that during Season 5 they should focus that season on HEAVENS or give them a spinoff.  I’m mentioning out right a Season 5 because I think that might be brought up at the Special Talk on June 15th.  If it is and they reveal it I am thinking they might use that for a better primer for HEAVENS before the new game comes out.  I’m also thinking that that will be out BEFORE the 10th Anniversary and that might be used as material for the 5th season.  I’m stating this because right now I think the reason the Anime is in a standstill is because they didn’t have the content for it done...it might also explain WHY Season 4 was one of the hardest to follow because I think they wanted to have either Dolce Vita out BEFORE the season or something and it just got botched up.  Now where we are is a state of “fixing things” (Sorry...somehow went off on a tangent) The point is about the single and mini Album is that HEAVENS right now is in a weird place.  Broccoli needs to see the unit do well with CDs and while one top 3 and a top 5 from a CD about 2 years ago was GOOD they need to keep that momentum but its getting harder and I think one big thing that is happening is a lot of new projects or games coming out on mobile and people are investing in those and not purchasing the HEAVENS stuff...its a lot of things that could be happening but one thing is for sure right now HEAVENS is in a fight right now to remain in the universe and the fandom and its one I am watching hoping for a Miracle! Let’s see what happens next

Discotek Announces Memories, Urusei Yatsura Movies, and More

  Discotek Media has a fresh slate of new announcements from their industry panel at teleconference anime convention AnimeLockdown, and we've got the run-down of their acquisitions and license-rescues, which include the following:

    1001 Nights: An adult animated take on the Arabian Nights folktales, this 1969 film is directed by Eiichi Yamamoto and produced by Osamu Tezuka. It was originally given an X rating by the MPAA when it was screened theatrically in the United States in 1970. Discotek's Bluray release will include a new restoration of the long lost “international version” edited English dub.

    S-Cry-Ed: A 2001 TV anime directed by Goro Taniguchi and animated by Sunrise. Will be released by Discotek Media on Bluray with the English dubbed and subtitled versions. Originally released in the United States by Bandai Entertainment, who described the story of the series as follows:

  22 years ago, Tokyo was destroyed by a cataclysmic earthquake and in the aftermath the devastated region was just abandoned by the government. This area became known as the Lost Ground and it gave rise to Alter Users, people with unique psychic abilities to change matter and create Alters with incredible power. To bring order back to the Lost Ground, the special police force HOLO was formed and using Alter Users themselves created HOLY to capture and control the renegade Native Alters.     Case Closed: "Episode One": aka TV Special 6, a modern retelling of the origin story of Shinichi Kudo, aka Detective Conan Edogawa. To be released on Bluray, featuring a new English dub by Bang Zoom!.

    Memories: A 1995 anthology film based on the manga of Katsuhiro Otomo, composed of three segments: Magnetic Rose, directed by Koji Morimoto; Stink Bomb, directed by Tensai Okamura; and Cannon Fodder, directed by Katsuhiro Otomo. Originally released on U.S. home video by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The Discotek Bluray release will feature a new English language dub, a revised English subtitled script, and it will be remastered in 1080p HD. Scheduled to be released in 2021.

    The Urusei Yatsura film series: Previously released on home video in the United States by AnimEigo, Discotek will be publishing Bluray releases for the remaining five films in the Urusei Yatsura theatrical anime movie series: Only You, Remember My Love, Lum the Forever, The Final Chapter, and Always My Darling. Discotek has previously released the second film, Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer. The Blurays will feature 1080p transfers of the films as well as the English dubbed and English subtitled versions.

    Demon City Shinjuku: a 1988 theatrical anime film directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri and animated by Madhouse, based on the supernatural novel by Hideyuki Kikuchi. The new Bluray release is coming in July of 2020, and Discotek describes the story of the film as follows:

  The near future. The glittering skyline of Tokyo now lies broken and crumbling under the weight of an oppressive evil: The tyrannical Rebi Rah. Desperate to rescue her father, who was taken captive by Rah and his monstrous minions, the beautiful Sayaka Rama enlists the help of Kyoya, a streetwise Tokyo teenager. The two must bravely venture into the Demon City, where even the army fears to tread.

    Love Hina Again: A 3-part OAV series from 2002, continuing the adventures of Keitaro Urashima and the girls of Hinata House. Originally released on home video in the United States by Bandai Entertainment, the Discotek Bluray release will include the original Bandai Entertainment English dub, the original Bandai Entertainment extras, and a 1080i upscale transfer.

    Lupin the 3rd: Dragon of Doom: A 1994 TV special directed by Masaharu Okuwaki. Previously released on U.S. home video by Funimation. To be released on Bluray. Goemon cuts an airplane in half in this one.

  There's a little something for everyone. I'm personally looking forward to an HD copy of Memories, another release of Demon City Shinjuku (I think I own like three copies of this already), the Urusei Yatsura movies, and Tezuka being horny on main.

It was a quiet day for a Monday in the HEAVENS home and as Joshua was sitting in the commons room he heard a knock at the door Joshua:  Coming right there! (Joshua makes his way to the front door and he sees a gentleman from Japan Post standing on the other side) Postman:  Good Morning Curtis-san!  I have a bag here with some of the recent fan mail that HEAVENS has been getting.  Where would you like me to put it? Joshua:  Just give it to me and I’ll be sure to deal with it accordingly...I think I know just the person to help me read some of the letters too! Postman:  Would that be Eiji? Joshua:  It would be...I’ll put this bag right near the coffee table and get Eiji to come on down so we can go through some of these Postman:  Alright well here you go and take care Joshua:   Thank you.  Let’s see what goodies the Angels sent us this time around...but first I must go get Eiji from the Garden (Later that day) Eiji:  So this is our mailbag?  Pretty big don’t you think? Joshua:  I said the same thing but hey...we get to read Fan Mail now!  I’m used to this on my own but this is for you all?  Alright...let’s get it started then! (Joshua opens up the bag and immediately he and Eiji are floored by the sheer volume of letters and goodies in the bag...suffice to say when they got it open they didn’t know where to start!) Eiji:  Uh Senpai Joshua:  Okay...I’m Jealous Eiji:  Why’s that? Joshua:  Cos my bag is never this full! Eiji:  Ah well I’m sure it will die down over time...shall we get started then Joshua:  Definitely (Joshua takes a few of the letters out of the bag and places them on the coffee table.  He double checks them to make sure they were for Eiji since that is whom he is sitting with for the day) Joshua:  Ooh looks like we got some good choice mail here...let’s see first letter (Joshua opens up the first letter and reads it aloud to Eiji) Joshua:  Dear Mr. Ootori I recently started listening to your solo called “Dreamer” and it helped me out of a slump I was in.  I was dealing with a depression and because of this had some thoughts of ending my life after personal and family issues made it hard to get through the day.  Because of your song it helped me become a happier person and now whenever I hear it I am reminded of how you helped save my life and my family wanted you to know they are very grateful for your song and all future songs you produce. Joshua:  Doesn’t have a signature but I think this is interesting that your song did this for this fan.  From what I can tell they are from outside of Japan so we have our first international letter out there.  Thoughts? Eiji:  Depression and even anxiety is never a fun thing.  I have never dealt with it myself but I have known people that have and because they didn’t have a positive outlet they did some bad things to themselves or others.  The fact that my song helped this person out is a great pleasure for me and I hope that in the future we can produce more songs that are uplifting to them and others around the world Joshua:  Very good...next letter actually comes from in the country so this should be interesting Joshua:  Dear Eiji-kun I wanted you to know that I saw you at a recent meet and greet but was too shy to come up and say hi.  Its not often that I get to see a celebrity that I admire and respect so I didn’t go up.  I hope that you along with HEAVENS have a very long career and I hope the next time that I get to see you I can get over my nerves and say “hi” Joshua:  Turns out none of these have signatures but do you know of this person? Eiji:  Actually I think I do and it was an event while you were away.  We had Nanami helping us and it was actually a lot of fun.  My solo session was amazing because I got to meet personally some our female and male fans and when I actually saw this person I wanted her to come up but she was shy and I think the group setting didn’t hep.  If you give me the person’s address when this is over I’ll send them something nice I promise Joshua:  Will do!  I think I got time for one more letter on my stack and then I think you found one for the group so I’ll go get Eiichi and company when you read the letter if need be Eiji:  Already took care of it and they will be down in a minute.  Let’s get to this final letter though Joshua:  Assertive...I like it!  You been hanging out with Camus lately? Eiji:  More Captain Munakata...good guy and taught me about taking control in a very calm manner...I still have some Camus influence though too Joshua:  I can tell...on with the letter! Joshua:  Dear Eiji O. I read recently in an interview that you did that working with Tokiya was a nerve-racking experience.  I’m planning to start my own career and my manager actually wants me to do a duet with a veteran much like you did with Tokiya.  What advice would you give in this situation and best of luck to you and HEAVENS. Joshua:  Having spoken with Ichinose-san myself I can tell you he doesn’t think he is a “Vet” because he told me in a conversation (and I’m allowed to talk about it) that he feels he still has a lot to learn and in some ways he wants to learn from you personally.  That aside what advice would you give our friend here? Eiji:  There was a bit of a misquote.  Yes there might have been a bit of nerves at first but I got over them when I saw how he was and we started gelling from the start.  I will tell you personally that I was nervous when I heard he might have had to quit STARISH because I didn’t want that and while he and my brother didn’t get along well at first I think things are starting to get better.  Otoya being a buffer between them is really helping and they will be an interesting tandem in the future. As for advice:  Try not to think of yourself as the rookie and if this person is someone that you look up to Joshua:  The writer of this letter actually does mention its someone they respected as a performer so I wanted to make sure that was put in Eiji:  Then the best advice is to try and go in thinking your are on even footing.  Its something that I did with Tokiya and I hope after all is said and done we get to sing together again in the future. Joshua:  Well you do have “Maji Love Kingdom” coming up but I think you want something before that.  I get that and I hope that you get to have that op before the big day in 2019!  Is HEAVENS on their way for the final letter? Eiichi:  We are here Joshua...fire when ready and we shall answer to the best of our ability Joshua:  Alright Dear HEAVENS I recently heard about how your first group single in Japan (Immortal Inferno) made the Oricon charts at #3 two years ago and bought the single for myself.  Not only was the song a very powerful one but Kira’s open for HEAVENLY PARADE was arguably the most “fun” I have heard come from him since I started following you guys when you were a trio and before the UtaPri awards Eiichi:  Oh this is an interesting letter...continue Joshua:  With the Triple S behind you what are your plans for the foreseeable future and what would you do if Shining ever forced you to either put up your future as a group or Joshua’s contract to force him to go to Shining Agency in a contest? Eiichi:  THIS...is an interesting letter and I know it was picked by Eiji for a reason...but I’m not going to answer it but I think Van might have some things to say so I’ll let him Joshua:  Mr. Kiryuuin I give you the floor Van:  The first thing for us in this year is to get out and get ourselves visible again to the public.  “Play time is over” as our Leader in Eiichi would say so we have been working hard to get ready for concerts coming up and as a matter of fact I believe we are booked for your Valentine’s Day concert this year...that should be fun! Joshua:  You are and the fans I know will love to hear that! Van:  Now as for this issue of “What would we do if Shining forced a contest where this or that happend”...we do what we know we have to!  We fight for our existence and we would fight to keep you.  I don’t think ,and I think I am speaking for everyone in this room, that if you were forced to leave us from a loss in a contest or if we had to disband this world would be better for it. HEAVENS is not like the groups I have seen come and go before.  I might be a baseball fan but I’ve been to farewell concerts when groups disband and they are the most heartbreaking thing ever.  If we ever had to disband because of a condition in a contest there are a lot of people both in this country AND outside of Japan that would be very sad and I know from what we heard that they would be devastated if you ended up leaving us to go work for Shining.  Not to say you don’t have friends there but Eiichi has said this numerous times and you are family here! Kira:  You have become an integral part of how we function and when we go to your concerts we see the work you do for your fans and we want to keep you happy.  To do that we would fight tooth and nail to make sure that your happiness and that of our Angels is kept.  We might not have the best win/loss record against STARISH but if there is one thing I know, Eiichi and Nagi know and the “New Four” know its that if that time came where its win or lose our careers and/or you...that’s not a fight they want to make cos we WILL win that one because this family WILL stay together! Joshua:  WELL...I hope friend you got the answer you want out of that and by looking at the clock on the wall...its time to go but what’s say we do this again and maybe next time we get Nagi to answer some fan mail? Brithday Post:  Eiji Otori

Today is the 19th of October (20th in Japan) and yep...that means its the “Gentleman’s” Birthday Well that’s at least one of his nicknames...the other is “Flower Prince” which I came up with since we found out that Eiji’s hobby is Gardening so there is that. Eiji is one of the “New Four” of HEAVENS in that he was one of the newcomers introduced along with Kiryuuin Van, Amakusa Shion and Hyuuga Yamato.  It can be argued that he is going to be one of the four that we have the most trouble talking about for a post like this but I think we should give the ol’ college try what say you? As I mentioned Eiji is one of the “New Four” of the group and his “Partner” (As I call them0 was Ichinose Tokiya whom he performed “Mighty Aura” with during the season.  Not a bad song but anyone that knows me knows EXACTLY the song that I fell in love with that gave us a window into this kid’s mind and heart in “Dreamer”.  That song, along with his personality, is as pure as the driven snow and its one that, if you haven’t listened to it yet, well...you need to! Eiji was born on October 20th 4 years after his brother in Eiichi.  While VERY LITTLE is known about the home life of the Brothers Ootori what we DO KNOW is that Raging and Eiichi initially forced Eiji to join HEAVENS.  This kind of shows the level of a dictator that Raging was as I wonder (since we don’t have the full story) did Eiichi really want his brother to join HEAVENS or was he going along with the old man...makes you wonder don’t it? What we were able to gleam from Eiji during the season (and he got a lot of screen time when you really think about it) was that this young man was someone that LOVED to sing and dance and he was also someone that has a good memory...this was mentioned during one of his discussions with Tokiya which shocked his partner greatly.  What will be more interesting is if there is more to this trait that we learn about in the future because I think its worth exploring for sure. It should also be noted that he is almost the “Surrogate Mom” of the group...or at least when Kira isn’t around!  What I mean by this is that when it comes to trying to help the other members with their problems or even so much as far as trying to correct their behaviors (Nagi) he seems very willing to help out.  I think he might also be the one that does the cooking because as we saw a few times during “Next Door” he mentioned dinner and then there were the plates left out for Otoya and Eiichi.  I’m not saying it WAS him but I have this idea in my head that Eiji likes to make sure that the group is fed and he is trying to learn how to cook for them. One thing we DON’T know yet about the Ootoris is the parental situation...yes we know about Raging being a shit dad BUT what about the Mother?  Is she alive or dead?  Judging from the boxes that my friend Ein took a screenshot of its not definite one way or the other but one does have to wonder right?  I also wondered to myself recently if some of that was still Eiji’s belongings boxed up from moving in with his brother and HEAVENS and he still hadn’t completely unpacked yet. Now the mother of the Ootoris...let’s chat about her since we are talking about Eiji. I have always believed at times that kids can be a product of their parents and by that I mean if the parent is a genuine asshole because they were supposed to be the “Power of Example” to the kid that the kid picks up the “bad habits” and keeps them while suppressing the good ones.  There is a part of me that wonders if what happened with Eiichi’s bravado (which we discussed numerous times) came from that while Eiji’s “shyness” came from the mother especially when she saw how off the wall Raging was...remember he is 4 years younger than Eii! One other thing we don’t know yet is who wrote the song for Raging.  Its a belief that it could have been the Mother (and I would bank on that myself) and what’s in the boxes are the compositions for other songs and demos...this goes back to why those boxes still remain with HEAVENS BUT we are getting off on a bit of a tangent so let’s try to skirt back to Eiji now! The next question is:  How did Eiji get interested in Gardening? Here’s my theory When Raging and the Mother split off (Divorced) the mother took custody of Eiji.  Why didn’t she take them both?  Let’s call it she was probably scared out of her wits and was lucky enough to get Eiji away alrighty? Anyways? When they moved to their new place they had this BIG open area and the mom was actually pretty adept outdoors working with her hands as well as composing and such (I have a theory that the reason Raging and her divorced was cos she wrote for Raging’s opposition in Shining but I don’t know if that is plausible) and she wanted to start a nice flower garden.  Eiji, being the observant and astute kid that he is went outside to see what was going on with his mother.  He saw that she was working on their garden and offered to help out which she gladly accepted so long as it didn’t interfere with his schoolwork. The two worked every day on it for hours together when they had time and it became a beautiful garden and not just for flowers either...I bet they had a wonderful vegetable garden that they used to be able to make their own dishes and the mother slowly started to teach Eiji how to cook BUT before she could really get to it Raging and Eiichi came for a visit and made the young man join HEAVENS after the UtaPri awards when they narrowly missed beating STARISH.  The mom tried to protest but Raging took the kid and he became a member of HEAVENS. Eiji became adept very quickly because of his memory and was able to learn songs and such on the first shot and the routines as well.  Yes he had his misteps (See “Mighty Aura”) but he is a quick learner and a valuable member to the group and here is hoping that when time comes he may well become the Leader of HEAVENS and maybe the group changes for the better...its on a good start already! Happy Birthday Eiji and may you have an awesome year friend take care everyone

"Eye Spy"

(Its been a few days since Joshua and Eiji noted that Eiichi ,the Leader of HEAVENS, and Ichinose Tokiya of STARISH have seemingly become an item. The why and how have never been revealed up to this point and as the duo was speculating they caught the attention of one interested party in Van. They agreed to let him help under the condition that he didn't blow their cover and Van promised to do so.

We pick this up with the trio of Eiji, Van and Joshua as they followed the two to a mall that Eiji and Van were known to frequent and try to figure out more about WHAT is in fact going on)

Eiji: Curtis-San are you sure they came here?

Joshua: I could have sworn that I heard Eiichi ask Tokiya if he wanted to come here because he "Needed a new pair of glasses".

Van: Reall? Doesn't Eiichi own like 20 pairs though?

Joshua: That's what Eiji told me. I have been in his room and can confirm he has a lot of different styles of glasses cos we both got caught trying them on once (and apparently Eiji can do a good impersonation of his brother).

Eiji: *Blushes* Curtis-san stop that...it was a spur of the moment thing

Joshua: I know I know friend don't worry...I'm just trying to figure out what Eiichi would be doing here cos usually around now he is planning the next steps for HEAVENS but then again...we never thought we would see what we saw either

(Just then Van spies off in the distance the two men they were coming to see what's up with them and inwardly Joshua beamed but outwardly this was concerning...they did their best to hide and surprisingly didn't get caught...then again somehow they walked through the mall without getting mugged so that helped also!)

Joshua: So these two really are starting to hang out more huh? Like I heard the rumors before Eiji and I saw what we saw Van but this is interesting

Van: Definitely...Eiichi is usually not coming here with anyone else unless its Raging or a member of HEAVENS...before you ask I know he would come here with Raging cos back in my Baseball days I would come here and they would go shopping for different outfits and such. This was also before they had a jacked up relationship too though

Joshua: Right I heard that and I heard that Eii was actually a really good kid but sometimes his dad would be an ass to him in public so Eii thought that was the proper way to act and used it as a public face when HEAVENS debuted back at the UtaPri awards...GOD I hated that side of him!

Van: First impressions are sometimes lasting but its good to see you came around on him...right Eiji?

Eiji: Right...Nii-San isn't a bad guy at all but you have to remember we were also raised differently...and sadly separately for a while. I was raised by our Mother and Eii was with Raging his entire life. The fact that I got to come back to work with him was cool...but it also was kind of painful because I found out (as did we all) that Raging is a revenge minded President and he can't win with that mindset either

Joshua: Has anyone ever told you that you are one of the most insightful people on the planet Eiji?

Eiji: Ahh I try but sometimes its just careful observation...you've learned that through working with us for sure

Joshua: No doubt and I observe that our duo is about to go into that store...let's go

(The trio carefully bobbed and weaved in and out of sight of where they could be spotted but Joshua wanted to be close enough to be able to hear what was going on...Van knew a good spot to hide for that and the trio camped right there and Joshua heard everything!)

Eiichi: So is it true that you wanted to wear glasses on stage for a performance?

Tokiya: Not quite...I went to the doctor recently and he was telling me that I might need to start wearing glasses more for reading because he noticed I couldn't read certain lines as well. I asked him if he thought it could help me with performances because of one hilarious moment when I was rehearsing for a concert and accidentally walked off the stage! Fortunately I wasn't hurt but after Otoya heard about it he went to Shining and I think that is part of why he wanted Joshua to come work with us...its more to keep me from injuring myself than stealing him away from Raging.

Eiichi: *sighs* Even the "Perfect Purple Prince" has his flaws doesn't he?

Tokiya: *blinks* Who calls me that?

Eiichi: I hear things...you'd be AMAZED at what some of your fans tell me when I'm out. We have great conversation though and they think highly of you and my Brother as far as your duet and solos.

Tokiya: Your Brother has a great voice and "Dreamer" is definitely a song everyone should hear for sure. I wonder how well he would do if he ever broke off from HEAVENS?

Eiichi: I wondered that myself but I never want to make him do that...I felt bad enough forcing him into HEAVENS but he seems to like it more now especially after working with you.

Tokiya: Well that's good...now which pair of glasses do you think is going to be the best for me here?

Eiichi: Well for you its less "Style" and more "function" from what I hear. Let's go look over here.

(Eiichi leads Tokiya to a section where the glasses still have a little style to them but Tokiya could tell they were more being able to see. They might have been in the store for all of 10 minutes but they already had that idea and Joshua could see from their spot where they were and what he saw next was even more interesting)

(Eiichi showed the frames to Tokiya whom nodded his approval but that wasn't the big thing...no the big thing was he stood facing the mirror and watched as Eiichi put the glasses on him from behind. It was the strangest thing for some reason to Joshua but got even more insane!

From what Joshua was told by Eiji...Eiichi is NOT A PDA guy SO when he saw that after Eiichi put the glasses on his face he put his arms around his waist the trio WANTED to scream but knew they couldn't until they got out of earshot...so they did the next best thing and quickly and quietly scurried off with Joshua thinking only one thing)

Joshua: The landscape of this setup now with three groups just got more interesting boys...now we get to wait and see what the next step on this journey is don't we?

Van: That we do...I wonder what Kira would think about it?

Joshua: I'll talk to him at a later date about this...its gonna be American Thanksgiving soon and I am NOT dropping this in his lap anytime soon!
